Here is the list of all matches to be played as part of the Asia Cup cricket tournament. ## The tournament was Originally scheduled to kick-start in September 2020, but the tournament was postponed in July 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 17 July 2022, due to the economic crisis in Sri Lanka and mass protests across the country, the Secretary of SLC Mohan de Silva stated that the tournament is likely to be hosted in the United Arab Emirates. ## Now, all matches will be played as Twenty20 Internationals (T20Is) during August and September 2022 in the United Arab Emirates. Asia Cup 2021 Officially Postponed To 2023

Mumbai, May 23, 2021: Due to the packed international schedule and second covid-19 wave threat, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially postponed the Asia Cup 2021 by two years. However, the Asia Cup 2022 will go ahead as scheduled with Pakistan retaining hosting rights for the 2022 edition. ## "The ACC Executive Board, in face of the risks and restrictions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, had made the difficult decision to postpone the Asia Cup 2020 to 2021. Since then, the ACC has been working with its participants and stakeholders to try and ensure that the event is held in the year", the ACC said in a media release. ## "However, on account of a packed FTP, it has been concluded that there is no practical window in the year when all the teams would be available to participate. The Board has accordingly considered the matter very carefully and determined that the only way ahead would be to postpone the event. It would therefore only be feasible for this edition of the tournament to be held in 2023 as there is already an Asia Cup in 2022. Dates for the same will be confirmed in due course", it added. ## With no Asia Cup this year as well, the tournament has been pushed back for a second straight year after it was originally scheduled to be played in September of last year. Sri Lanka will host the Asia Cup 2023 after the Pakistan Cricket Board exchanged hosting rights with Sri Lanka Cricket for the next two editions of the tournament. ## The last Asia Cup, which was played in 2018 in UAE, won by India under the leadership of Rohit Sharma in the absence of Virat Kohli. Asia Cup 2020 has been cancelled due to COVID-19, says Sourav Ganguly

BCCI president and former India captain Sourav Ganguly said that Asia Cup 2020 which was scheduled to take place in Septemeber has been cancelled in the wack of Coronavirus pandemic. ## "Asia Cup has been cancelled," Ganguly said, without elaborating if this was a decision taken by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), in an Instagram chat with Vikrant Gupta.## Pakistan had the hosting rights of this year's Asia Cup but India was not willing to go to Pakistan and hence, it was decided to hold in the United Arab Emirates in September. The BCCI had already stated earlier that they have no problem Pakistan hosting the tournament as long as it was held at a neutral venue. ## "It's difficult to say which will be India's first international series. We've done our preparations but we can't do much till we know the government rules. We are not in a hurry because the health of players is of the utmost importance. We are monitoring things monthly," added BCCI president.## When asked about the possibility of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Ganguly said, "(If the T20 World Cup gets cancelled) then we will try everything to stage the IPL.
