Korean Children Song 'Baby Shark' Reaches 10 Billion Views On YouTube
Mumbai, January 17 - Another historical milestone on YouTube has been breached as the Korean children's song "Baby Shark" becomes the first video to reach 10 billion views on YouTube. The song was released by Korean education brand Pinkfong on June 17, 2016, and the rest is history. ## "Baby Shark" became the most viewed video on YouTube in November 2020, four years after its release. It had surpassed the former record holder "Despacito" by Luis Fonsi to claim the top spot and now strengthen that spot by becoming the only video to reach the 10 billion mark. "Despacito" is currently the second most viewed video with 7.7 billion views on YouTube. ## "We are delighted to announce that our beloved Baby Shark has recorded another remarkable milestone", Min-Seok Kim, CEO of creator The Pinkfong Co., said in a statement. ## "It has been a truly meaningful journey to witness how Baby Shark has connected people around the world, and we can't wait to introduce Baby Shark's further adventures that will bring unparalleled experiences to even more fans everywhere", he added.## Among the other popular videos on YouTube, another children's song, "Johny Johny Yes Papa" by LooLoo Kids, is at number 3 with a whopping 6.1 billion views followed by Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" at number 4 with 5.58 billion views, and "See You Again" by Wiz Khalifa at 5 with 5.39 billion views.## Interestingly, Psy's epic 2012 hit, "Gangam Style" became the first video to reach one billion views. By June 2015, only "Baby" had also managed to pass this threshold, but, by October 2015, a total of ten videos had done so, and the number grew further to 100 in February 2018.## ## Stay tuned...
