Akshay Kumar Opens Up On His Movies Not Working At The Box Office

Mumbai, August 20 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar was at peak of his game before the covid-19 pandemic stopped the world. Since the resumption of cinemas post-pandemic, things have taken a drastic change most Bollywood films have failed to create the same magic as it was before the pandemic. ## Akshay Kumar too has released five films in theaters in the last 8-9 months but only "Sooryavanshi" turned out to be a box office hit while the other four films have failed to keep up with the reputation Akshay carries at the box office. However, unlike many others, Khiladi Kumar is not hesitating in accepting where he is going wrong. ## During the trailer launch event of his upcoming film "Cuttputlli" on Saturday (August 20), the actor opened up about his movies not working well at the box office. Speaking to the media, the actor said, "Films are not working, it's our fault. It is my fault. I have to make the changes. I have to make what the audience wants. I want to dismantle my way and make the way, what kind of film I should do. So, nobody else to blame, but it is me who has to make changes according to what my audience wants". ## While answering a question about whether OTT is a safe platform for movies at present times, Akshay said that there is no safe place for a bad movie. Just like theatrical movies, OTT films too have to attract the audience and if the movie is not good, it will not be able to gain viewership. ## Meanwhile, Akshay's upcoming movie "Cuttputlli", which is the remake of the Tamil film "Ratsasan", will stream directly on Disney+Hotstar on September 2. Akshay Kumar Opens Up On 'Bachchhan Paandey' Failure And Doing Remakes of South Indian Movies

Mumbai, May 22 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar has opened up on the failure of his recent movie, "Bachchhan Paandey". The failure of the movie did shock the film industry as Akshay is one of the biggest stars in the country and has had one of the best success ratios among the top-tier actors. ## During a recent interview with IndiaToday, Akshay was asked about "Bachchan Pandey" and whether its failure has affected his choices. For the unversed, BP is the remake of the 2014 Tamil film "Jigarthanda". ## "Dealing with failure is the same. I've not just had 13-14 flops, there was again a time in the middle where my 8-9 films flopped. I always say you can feel bad for a flop from Friday to Sunday, on Monday you have to pick yourself up and go do another film and be very happy on the set. You can't carry around your sad face everywhere", Akshay said. ## During the covid-19 pandemic, the Hindi remakes of South Indian movies haven't worked at the box office as the audience is already exposed to the dubbed versions of those films, thanks to the TV and OTT revolution. It has been made perception that Bollywood shouldn't do remakes, however, Akshay thinks otherwise. The "Sooryavanshi" actor believes that there is no problem in remaking a good movie. ## "I was recently questioned why I am doing two remakes. To which I say, why shouldn't I? What is the problem with it? My 'Oh My God' was remade in Telugu, the film worked here as well as there, I did their 'Rowdy Rathore', it worked there as well as here. So, why does anyone have an issue with that? If there is a good south Indian film and we are taking the rights and remaking here, what's the issue? Holi Sees A Massive Day At The Hindi Box Office

Mumbai, March 19, 2022: The Hindi Box office has witnessed its highest single day at the box office thanks to the Holi festival. The combined collections of all the running titles are around the 33-34 Cr net. ## The bulk collections came from the Kashmir Files which is behaving like no other film in the past with all-time records being smashed. The Kashmir Files has contributed 19.15 Crout of those 34 Cr which is more than 50% of the total. ## Bachchhan Paandey collected 13.25 Cr which is a good number considering the competition. There was potential for higher collections for Bachchan Pandey that would have taken the collections to near the 40 Cr mark but Bachchan Pandey has underperformed a little bit on the first day. ## The other holdover titles like Gangubai Kathiawadi, The Batman among others may collect in the range of 1 Cr. Top Openers Post Pandemic, Akshay Kumar Rules

Mumbai, March 19, 2022: The pandemic has hit the Indian box office in March 2020 and since then the cinemas got shut. When cinemas got opened, films struggled for any sort of footfalls. But there have been few big event films that were released at the Hindi box office and seen impressive initials considering pandemic. ## The biggest film is Sooryavanshi fronted by Akshay Kumar which was released on Diwali 2021, the biggest day of the year, and collected 26.29cr on its opening day. The conditions were not like today as there were restrictions in many circuits with no night shows when Sooryavanshi was released. ## The second-highest opening day post-pandemic is also an Akshay Kumar starrer Bachchan Pandey which collected 13.25 Cr on the first day of its release. Here again, the potential opening has been hit by the wave called The Kashmir Files else the opening would have been more than 20.00 Cr. ## Ranveer Singh starrer 83 which was released on Xmas eve collected 12.64 Cr on the first day and gets the third spot in the list. Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi went double-digit and put 10.50cr on its opening day. ## The box office monster The Kashmir Files which is running riot has collected 3.55cr on its opening day but that does not matter for a film that is smashing all-time records.
