TRPs look good for 'Bigg Boss Telugu 5' grand finale

Hyderabad, Dec 31 (IANS) The grand finale of the reality show 'Bigg Boss Season 5' garnered decent ratings on TRP, although it fell short of the previous season's finale, according to reports. ## The ratings of the four-and-a-half-hour-long episode are out. According to BARC, Star MAA has got 18.4 (SD+HD) TVR Ratings for the Grand finale. ## While the TRP ratings indicate some impressive numbers in the Urban category, the grand finale of 'Bigg Boss Telugu 5', as indicated by the TRP chart, doesn't draw higher ratings than those of seasons 3 and 4. ## India's top stars Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor appeared in the show's grand finale along with director SS Rajamouli and the 'Brahmastra' team. ## Also, the 'Pushpa' team- Rashmilka Mandanna, Devi Sri Prasad, and Sukumar were present to promote their movie, as well as take the show forward. ## The event had Nani and his 'Shyam Singha Roy' co-actors Sai Pallavi and Krithi Shetty as well. It Was Challenging To Design Bigg Boss 14 House As Everything Was Shut Due To Lockdown: Omung Kumar

The popular reality show, Salman Khan hosted Bigg Boss is just around the corner with season 14. The most talked-about controversial show is all set to premiere on October 3 on Colors TV with a lot of new twists and turns to entertain the audience. ## However, it wasn't an easy task to prepare one of the most luxurious houses on time because of the covid-19 pandemic which forced the lockdown. The production designer Omung Kumar has opened up on how he revamped the set for the new season amid the pandemic which was challenging. ## "It was not easy for us to redesign the 'Bigg Boss' house at a time when everything was shut due to lockdown. There was a limited number of laborers available. Most of them had gone to their villages. The shops were closed. Online delivery was not functioning. We could not import anything from abroad", Omung recalled while interacting with IANS.## "Luckily, some shopkeepers agreed and specially opened their stores for us, as we had to purchase in bulk. Workers had to wear masks all the time. It was challenging, but we pulled it off. Ab hum keh sakte hai jab koi kaam nahi kar raha tha, hum kar rahe the (we can now claim that when no one was working, we were)", he added. ## It took Omung and team 45 to 50 days to redesign the house, which has a futuristic theme this season. This year, there is a mall, a spa, and a theater inside the house for which the contestants will have to do the task or something different to take advantage of it.## The veteran Bollywood production designer, who has also tried his hand at directing films, spoke that the "Bigg Boss" is like his own house and It irritates him a lot when the housemates (contestants) don't take proper care of it or damage property. ## Stay tuned...

I Haven't Taken These Many Holidays In 30 Years As I Had To Take This Forced Holiday: Salman Khan

Superstar Salman Khan on Thursday said the coronavirus lockdown was "stressful" for him as he had to take a forced break of nearly half a year which is the longest he has been away from work. At a virtual launch event of Colors TV, Salman Khan announced the Bigg Boss 14 which is starting from October 3. ## "My biggest frustration is this that last six months I have not worked. I have never taken such a long break in 30 years, which I was forced to take this year. Ever since I did 'Maine Pyar Kiya' and began working, every year I try and take a break from 25th December to 3rd January. But ever since I started doing Bigg Boss over the last 10 to 12 years, I would work a few days even in my holidays but I am happy doing that", Salman said.## This year, Salman Khan will be taking a pay cut for hosting the show in order to ensure every crew member gets their due payment. The actor spoke about this while talking to Abhishek Rege, CEO of Endemol Shine India.## When Salman asked Abhishek Rege, "We are paying full salary to everyone?", he replied, "We are paying salary. Obviously, you might not see huge increments, but we are paying full salary to people".## To this, Salman responded: "Very good. What about mine? Doesn't matter. I am more than happy to cut it down so that everyone else gets paid".## On Thursday, apart from launching the new season, the actor also gave a virtual tour of the Bigg Boss house for the 14th season, which has an in-house spa, restaurant, theatre, and shopping mall for the housemates. Hina Khan: 'Bigg Boss' house and COVID quarantine poles apart

New Delhi, April 28 (IANS) No househelp and no option to step out have made many feel like being locked up in the "Bigg Boss" house. But former "Bigg Boss" contestant Hina Khan says that participating in the reality show and experiencing the ongoing COVID-19 lockdown have nothing in common.## The reality show, an Indian version of international series "Celebrity Big Brother", features celebrities locked inside a house for months under constant camera surveillance, without any gadgets or luxury.## "The 'Bigg Boss' house and this quarantine phase are poles apart in regards to any kind of comparison. There is no tactic I am using right now," Hina told IANS.## Unlike the show where the contestants have to be away from their loved ones, Hina is living with her family in Mumbai right now and is feeling fortunate.## "I am so happy to have them by my side during these tough times," said the "Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" actress.## Like others, she is also doing household chores and keeping herself entertained with engaging content online.## "From cooking to cleaning to working out to watching stuff online, I have been diverting my mind with things that are positive and productive. Right now it's best doing what you like doing more than anything else, to deal with the home quarantine phase in a better way," she said.## The lockdown, which has been imposed since March, has been a learning experience for her.## "The art of patience is the biggest thing I have learned from the lockdown. Keeping calm, composed, and patiently passing through each day is what I am now getting much better at," she shared.## She doesn't have big plans after the lockdown gets over.## "I feel that even when the lockdown is over, getting back to the normal way of life like it was before this whole scenario began, is honestly going to take a lot of time. So even if there are things I want to do, it's all going to be done with keeping necessary precautions in mind first," she said.## While there is still time for the lockdown to be lifted, viewers can enjoy her recently released a short film titled "Smartphone".## "The short film has a great message. One is about never underestimating anybody else's abilities and there is a strong sense of women empowerment as well, so content-wise it is quite good. And right now I feel that good, meaningful, and interesting content is what people need to be given to watch, to help divert their minds from the stressful situation that we are all facing at the moment," said Hina.## She plays a rural woman in the short film.## "It was a challenging role with lots of nuances to keep in mind. From the desi accent to the language, dressing style, and even personality traits of the character, I had to ensure that every small detail was perfect!
