'Oppenheimer' Becomes The Highest-Grossing Biopic of All-Time At The Worldwide Box Office
Los Angeles, September 17 - Director Christopher Nolan's atom bomb movie Oppenheimer has breached a major box office milestone by crossing $900 million globally. The movie grossed $903 million (7505 crores) through Friday and is estimated to reach $912 million (7580 crores) 9th Sunday, according to Deadline. ## "Oppenheimer", with $912 million by Sunday, will officially become the highest-grossing biopic of all time at the worldwide box office. Based on the life of J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited with being the "father of the atomic bomb", it will cross "Bohemian Rhapsody" (2018) which focuses on the life of Freddie Mercury, the lead singer of the British rock band Queen.## "Bohemian Rhapsody" grossed $910.8 million, including $216.6 million domestically (North America) and $694.2 million at the overseas box office, as per Box Office Mojo. "Oppenheimer" is expected to gross $10 million from 83 overseas markets on its 9th weekend, which will take its total international cume to $593 million while its domestic total will reach $319 million.## "Oppenheimer" is the third highest-grossing film ever and the highest-grossing outside Batman movies for Christopher Nolan. It is already the third biggest movie of the year worldwide and internationally (behind only Barbie and The Super Mario Bros Movie).## The film's Top Five international markets are as follows - the UK ($72.6M), China ($50M), Germany ($47.5M), France ($41.3M) and Australia ($26.2M).
