Rumour: Hindi Remake Of NBK's 'Akhanda' To Be Led By Either Akshay Kumar Or Ajay Devgn!

Mumbai, December 11 - Bollywood has always been quick to grab remake rights of the audience-appealing, South Indian films, and it seems that Nandamuri Balakrishna's latest box office blockbuster, "Akhanda" is the latest in the list that has caught the attention of Bollywood filmmakers.## The third collaboration of NBK and director Boyapti Srinu opened a roaring response at the box office, receiving positive reviews from critics. The movie got NBk's career back on track as the actioner is heading towards Rs. 100 crores worldwide gross. ## Since "Akhanda" caught the attention of every type of audience, several Bollywood producers are reportedly showing interest in grabbing the Hindi remake rights. The rumours are rife that producer Sajid Nadiadwala is looking to remake the film in Hindi and he has reportedly considered either Akshay Kumar or Ajay Devgn to replace NBK.## Though the conversation about the Hindi remake with Akshay and Ajay is still in its initial stage, and one is likely to receive clarity on the same in the coming days. Interestingly, Akshay Kumar recently completed the shoot of "Mission Cinderella", which is the remake of the Tamil movie "Ratsasan". Ajay Devgn also has a "Kaithi" remake in the pipeline. So it will be interesting to see if they are ready to do back-to-back remakes. ## "Akhanda", meanwhile, is produced by Miryala Ravinder Reddy under the banner of Dwaraka Creations. Remembering The Legend Dilip Kumar!

Mumbai, Dec 11, 2021: Today is the birth anniversary of one of the greatest legends the Hindi film industry had ever produced - Dilip Kumar. ## Dilip Kumar started his tinsel town journey in 1944 with Jwar Bhata but his first major success came in 1947 when Jugnu opposite Noor Jehan did excellent business and emerged as the biggest grosser of the year. The success of Jugnu made Dilip Kumar a star. ## Due to the sudden death of the then Box office God - K.L. Sehgal, Dilip Kumar become the Top star in just two years with 2 Back to Back HGOTY - Jugnu (1947) & Shaheed (1948), and from there on this phenomenal star never turned back. It was one horse race till 1961 and this period was filled by Historic Grossers like Andaz (1949), Aan (1952), Naya Daur (1957), and the Biggest of them all Mughal-e-Azam (1960) and Ganga Jamuna (1961). ## Dilip Kumar with Raj Kapoor and Dev Anand formed the 1st Golden troika of Bollywood (The khans came many letters) and it is the former who gave competition to Dilip Kumar. Raj Kapoor literally eclipsed Dilip Kumar in the year 1949 with two back-to-back Bombastic Blockbusters - Andaz and Barsaat. ## Awara in 1951 emerged as the Biggest industry grosser and the competition just heated up on the professional front. But the consistency was missing from the filmography of Raj Kapoor and it was the consistency that made Dilip Kumar bigger than the rest. On the other hand, Dev Anand was going good with hits but huge all-India Blockbusters were missing from his repertoire. ## Dilip Kumar made an astonishing comeback in his 2nd innings and it could be said that no actor was as big as Dilip Kumar comparing only 2nd innings. Dilip Kumar gave some of the Biggest Blockbusters of the 80s Decade in the form of Kranti (1981) which become the highest-grossing film of the year. ## It was followed by Vidhata which was also huge in scale and become HGOTY. Karma (1986) was centered around the thespian and again he gave the highest-grossing film of the year. ## As an Actor and with regards to acting skills Dilip Kumar is the greatest among them all. One of the greatest legends of the industry and people's Superstar Dharmendra celebrated his 86th Birthday yesterday. ## Dharmendra started his tinsel town journey in 1960 with a film called 'Dil Bhi Tera hum Bhi Tere' and it was a few films struggle till he shot to fame in the middle 60s. Though there were many successful films earlier as well like 'Shola Aur Shabnam' and 'Anpadh', but with a Blockbuster film with the then reigning superstar Rajendra Kumar - Aayi Milan ki Bela changed the fortunes of Dharmendra and catapulted him into a big league of known & dependable stars. But with a Mega Blockbuster Phool Aur Patthar preceding to a superhit Kaajal, pushed Dharmendra ahead than any other star, and industry & trade were banking on him to be the number1 star until there is tsunami called 'Rajesh Khanna' arrived. ## Rajesh Khanna had seen the type of craze & euphoria which was never seen before or after and this craze also converted in numbers when Khanna gave over 15 consecutive successful films with many films doing historic business such as Aradhana, Do Raaste, and Haathi Mera Saathi. Khanna literally wiped out all-stars of the industry and was a reason for the retirement of many stars like Rajendra Kumar, Dilip Kumar, and Dev Anand but Dharmendra was the only star who survived the Khanna storm and it was him who shocked the entire industry when he pushed the legendary superstar Rajesh Khanna to Number2 in 1973 with 7 HIT films including 2 Blockbusters. Released on December 3, "Tadap" netted Rs. 13.52 crores in the first three days, which is a great result of a debutante, even in the pre-covid level. ## The Sajid Nadiadwala's production, also featuring Tara Sutaria as the female lead, opened to Rs. 4.05 crores on Friday with a slight jump (1.79%) on Saturday for Rs. 4.12 crores. For the Sunday holiday, "Tadap" jumped by nearly 30% for a healthy Rs. 5.35 crores, taking its 3-day total to Rs. 13.52 crores.## Directed by Milan Lutharia, "Tadap" was way ahead of Salman Khan, Ayush Sharma, and Mahima Makawana-starrer "Antim: The Final Truth", which netted an estimated total of Rs. 5.48 crores over the second weekend. In a recent conversation with ETimes, Rai revealed that the "Atrangi Re" title was already registered with Salman Khan Productions but he gave it to him on one condition. ## "Salman Bhai had the title registered to his production house but he gave it to me on one condition.
