Sony Announces New Release Dates Of 'Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse I & II', And 'Madame Web'

Los Angeles, April 21 - Sony Pictures has pushed back the release dates of its much-anticipated superhero movies. The studio, on Wednesday, announced that "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", which was slated for theatrical release on October 7 this year, will now open on June 2, 2023. Instead, Sony's live-action/CGI musical comedy Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile — based on the book series by Bernard Waber, will now debut on Oct. 7 from November 18, 2022. ## "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse" is the first of a two-part sequel to 2018's "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse", which pushed the boundaries of animation and collected a best animated Oscar. It is easily the most-anticipated Spider-Man animated movie. ## Meanwhile, the second part of "Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse", has landed a release date of March 29, 2024. The film once again voice stars Shameik Moore as Miles Morales while Oscar Isaac voices Miguel O'Hara/Spider-Man 2099, An alternate version of Spider-Man from the future. ## Sony also revealed that "Madame Web", based on the Marvel Comic character, will open on July 7, 2023, while "The Equalizer 3" will hit the big screen on Sept. 1, 2023. Los Angeles, April 16 - The ongoing legal battle between "Pirates of the Caribbean" star Johnny Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard has taken an interesting turn as Heard's former assistant Kate James has alleged that Heard's claims of physical abuse at the hands of Depp are false. ## Amber Heard is being sued by Johnny Depp, for $50 million, on allegations that she defamed him by describing herself as a "figure representing domestic violence" in a 2018 op-ed in the 'Washington Post'. ## Heard responded to the lawsuit by countersuing Depp and alleging that he physically assaulted her on 10 occasions throughout their relationship. The couple parted ways in 2016, after Heard filed for a protective order in court, with what appeared to be a bruise on her face.## In a prerecorded video presented by Depp's attorneys to the jurors, Kate James, who worked for Heard from 2012 to 2015, argued that she never witnessed Depp and Heard getting into verbal or physical altercations, nor did she notice any evidence of domestic violence during her regular visits to the couple's respective homes.## However, she said Heard did contact her in distress after arriving back at their home in Los Angeles after a private flight with Depp in May 2014. For the said incident, Heard alleged in court filings that Depp kicked her and threw objects at her on the flight because he was upset about a romantic scene she had filmed the day prior with James Franco.## Kate also recalled that he received humiliation from the "Aquaman" actress when she asked for an increased salary. Los Angeles, April 11 - Paramount Pictures' "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" was on fire at the domestic (North America) box office, and powered to a massive $72 million 3-day opening weekend debut. The film beat industry projections and record the biggest video game movie opening of all time and second-biggest in 2022. ## Directed by Jeff Fowler, "Sonic 2" topped its predecessor, 2020's "Sonic the Hedgehog", which had grossed $58 million in its first 3 days. Mumbai, March 18 - The worldwide audience likes comic book movies, and "The Batman" is the latest example of that. The DC superhero movie, starring Robert Pattinson in the title role, has soared past $500 million worldwide, becoming the second 2022 title to reach the figure after China's "Water Gate Bridge" ($632M). ## The Matt Reeves-directed started the international rollout in Korea on March 1 ahead of the domestic (North America) debut on March 4.
