Hyderabad, September 28 - During the 18-months of the covid-19 pandemic era, the Telugu film industry has kept show biz running in India while others are struggling to cope up with the devastating once in a century pandemic.## Even in these tough times, the Telugu film industry has given six blockbuster movies, all came in 2021. Keeping those expectations high, another Telugu movie, "Love Story" is well on track to become a BIG hit, not only in India but also in overseas markets. ## Directed by National award-winning filmmaker, Sekhar Kammula, "Love Story" has already become one of the top grosser after the deadly second wave in India. It also took the biggest opening of Rs. 9.05 crores in India after the 2nd wave while its opening weekend (Fri-Sun) collection stands at an outstanding Rs. 24.8 crores net. ## Meanwhile, the Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi starrer is surprisingly turning out to be a big adventure at the USA box office. The film had the best premiere night for an Indian film during the pandemic with $314K (Rs. 2.32 crore) on Thursday premiere. ## By the end of its opening weekend in the USA, the movie has crossed $1 million ($1.02 or 7.54 Cr) which includes $292K on Friday, $287K on Saturday, and $128K on Sunday apart from Thursday premiere. The movie was easily one of the top earners in the concluded weekend at the USA box office. The worldwide total gross collection after the opening weekend of "Love Story" stands at Rs. 37 crores. ## Produced by Amigos Creations and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas, the film hasn't got the great of reviews from the critics but it is clearly winning the heart hearts of the audiences. This is the reason that the makers have declared the film a "magical blockbuster", and we aren't complaining as it has been like that. Los Angeles, September 26 - Warner Bros./Legendary Pictures' epic science fiction film, "Dune" is making dollars at the international box office in a big way. The Denis Villeneuve-directed gets a solid boost from the international audience ahead of its domestic debut on October 22.## "Dune" continued its spicy run in international markets and was the biggest overseas grosser of the weekend for a Hollywood pic with $26.3 million, taking its total overseas collection to a solid $77 million in just 11 days. The movie witnessed just a 32% drop from its opening weekend. ## It is to be noted that Warner Bros. had a low expectation from "Dune". However, just like Marvel's "Shang-Chi and The Legend of The Ten Rings", it won't be exaggerated to say that "Dune" has not only shattered the low box office predictions but also reaffirmed that the box office business is here to stay for a long long time. ## Among the top international markets, "Dune" is having a dream run in Russia. After making a $7.7 million debut in the opening weekend, it dropped just 37% in the second weekend for $4.9 million while in France, it decline just 33% from a $7.2 million debuts to $4.2 million in the second weekend. It is just the beginning as more overseas markets, including big China, will be added in the coming days.## The Timothee Chalamet/Jason Momoa/Zendaya/Oscar Isaac/Rebecca Ferguson starrer will open in Japan on October 15 and then in all-important North America on October 22. The Simu Liu fronted pic had officially crossed its fellow Marvel movie "Black Widow's" $184.4M domestic cum on Friday and became the highest grosser Hollywood pic in North America during the 18-months of the pandemic era. ## Universal Pictures' "Fast & Furious 9 (F9)" remains the third highest-grossing movie at the domestic B.O. during the pandemic with $172.1M. However, globally, it is the top grosser Hollywood film with $716M. Warner Bros./Legendary's "Godzilla vs. Kong" is at number two with $467M globally, then Black Widow with $378.7M WW, and Shang-Chi with well over $360M around the globe. ## "Shang-Chi's" lifetime domestic box office projection is around $225 million. It has already crossed the domestic box office collection of previous Marvel movies such as Captain America ($176 million in 2011), Ant-Man ($180 million in 2015), and Thor ($181 million in 2011) along with The Incredible Hulk ($132 million in 2008). Mumbai, September 5, 2021: Marvel Studios' "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" succeed box office expectations in a big way and has made a memorable debut in the superhero universe. A movie, which was called an "experimental" release in theaters by Disney CEO, has debuted with a mighty $75 million in the opening weekend (Fri-Sun) at the domestic (North America) box office. ## "Shang-Chi" was anticipated a debut of between $45 million to $50 million in the opening weekend, but now, it is on course for $84 million four-day Labor Day weekend. With a $75 million 3-day weekend debut, "Shang-Chi" takes the second-biggest domestic opening, falling just behind "Black Widow's" $80.3 million opening. Universal Pictures' "F9" is at number 3 with a $70 million opening. ## Overseas, "Shang-Chi" earned another $56 million, making it a $130 million worldwide debut. The movie opened in key international markets such as France, Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom, Japan, Korea, Brazil, Mexico, and India. In India, where Marvel has a huge fanbase, "Shang-Chi" is turning out to be the first choice for moviegoers. In the first weekend in India, the Simu Liu starrer earned approx 12.30 crores [$ 1.7 M] gross.## "Shang-Chi" centers on a former assassin who must contend with the legacy of his evil father and the crime syndicate he operates. It’s the first Marvel movie to have an Asian superhero as its protagonist.
