Chris Evans, The Original Captain America, Shuts Down Marvel Return Talks

Los Angeles, July 10 - The announcement of Marvel Studios' Captain America 4 gave a lot of air to the rumors and those rumors are back as the movie is moving into the next stage of development. While some rumors might turn out true at the latter stage, the biggest of them has been shut down by the (former) Captain America himself. ## Hollywood superstar Chris Evans, who played this iconic superhero character in the first three "Captain America" movies and "Avengers" movies, has shut down the reports of him returning to take the shield again. "Captain America 4" was announced with Anthony Mackie as the new shield-bearer in the MCU and Evans aka Steve Rogers has once again reaffirmed this major Marvel development by reacting to a report of his Marvel return. ## Sam Wilson is Captain America— Chris Evans (@ChrisEvans) July 9, 2022 ## The question of a possible Evans return has danced in the minds of many Marvel fans since he said goodbye to the role in Avengers: Endgame. Recently, Evans was asked directly about a return on the Disney D23 Podcast. It seems like that's just not in the cards. Evans told them that Mackie has the shield right now and it would take an almost perfect script to change that.## Meanwhile, Chris Evans may not return to the MCU (for now), he has plenty of exciting global audience appealing movies in the pipeline. He will next star in the Netflix action thriller "The Gray Man", a film adaptation of the 2009 novel of the same name directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. It also stars Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Dhanush, Jessica Henwick, and others in key roles. It will premiere on Netflix on July 22nd. ## Apart from the aforementioned movie, Evans will star in the action-adventure film "Ghosted", by director Dexter Fletcher, and is also slated to play Gene Kelly in an as-yet-untitled film based on an original idea of his own. Additionally, he will star in the action-comedy "Red One" and will also reunite with his Marvel co-star and best friend Scarlett Johansson in "Project Artemis". In July 2022, he joined the cast of David Yates's "Pain Hustlers" starring Emily Blunt.## Stay tuned...

The Marvels Director Blames Captain America For Thanos Snap In Avengers: Infinity War

Los Angeles, October 20 - The "Captain Marvel" sequel "The Marvels" director Nia DaCosta has a different take on the events of Thanos causing half of life in the universe to dust out of existence in Avengers: Infinity War by just a Snap. While the Marvel fans found Thanos responsible for "The Snap", "The Marvels" director explains Captain America may actually be at fault. ## Speaking to Inverse (via comicbook), Nia DaCosta explains how Captin America was at fault when the time came to decide between saving Vision or sacrificing an entire universe to Thanos, the Mad Titan. ## "Something I like to say a bit flippantly about Captain America is that the Snap is all his fault because he was trying to do his best, trying to do the right thing", the director told. "There is a world in which he's a villain because, at the end of the day, he should have just sacrificed Vision (to save the universe)".## "He chose one robot's life, albeit a sentient one, over literally the entire universe. There's a sort of anti-hero in that if you want to look at it through that lens. People would say I'm crazy for thinking that way, but there's something connected to the journey of the anti-hero and the hero", she added.## In Avengers: Infinity War, Vision had offered to sacrifice himself and mind stone to keep Thanos away from adding it to his Infinity Gauntlet. However, Steve Rogers aka Captain America denied his proposal by famously saying that the Avengers weren't in the business of trading lives. He then teamed up with Black Panther in Wakanda for one last stand against the invading aliens, only to lose as Thanos did kill Vision to claim the Mind Stone. ## Stay tuned...

Chris Evans said that playing the role of Captain America was the best decision he's ever made

Hollywood actor Chris Evans has said the playing the role of Captain America in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is the best decision he has ever made. However, the actor also confessed that he was scared and having anxiety attacks when MCU offered him the role of Captain America. ## Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Evans revealed that initially, he turned down the role of Captain America despite the six-film deal and a higher salary. It was the time when his family and friends pushed him for the role telling him he was making his decision based on fear to which the actor also agreed. ## "And it really just kind of clicked and it really did start to make sense to me that way, so I said 'Yeah. I think that's why the whole first movie, my hair was on fire, you're so scared just like 'Oh my god, I can't believe I'm doing this and please don't backfire, please don't blow up in my face. And not only did it not, but it was the best decision I've ever made, and I really owe that to Kevin Feige for being persistent and helping me avoid making a giant mistake. To be honest, all the things that I was fearing never really came to fruition." ## Chris Evans also confirmed that one of the main reasons for him to take up the challenge was none other than Robert Downey Jr, his MCU frenemy Iron Man who comfort him about the Marvel Method. ## "I knew where they wanted to go, that's part of the initial deal, not just for Captain America but for Avengers movies and that was daunting. And just hearing him kind of give you that little nudge of encouragement, it just made me feel a little bit more like I was part of the gang and not so intimidated".## "I guess it was a double-edged sword, on the one hand, it makes you feel very welcome but on the other hand, you just think 'Oh man, I gotta stand next to this guy? He's crushing this role. I don't want to be the weak link here.' But it was a very nice comforting thing to hear that he was in my corner," Evans said. ## FYI, as of last year's Avengers: Endgame, both Captain America and Iron Man bid adieu to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) movies and will not appear in any future project of MCU. Chris Evans persuaded to take on 'Captain America' by his mother

Los Angeles, April 7 (IANS) Hollywood star Chris Evans should thank his mother for taking up the popular role of Captain America after she urged him to reconsider turning down the Marvel blockbuster.## Evans passed on the superhero role "a few times" and told popular TV host Jimmy Kimmel last year that he was "scared" of being a part of a massive franchise, reports aceshowbiz.com.## It has come out that it was Evans's mother Lisa, who convinced him to take up the career-making role.## Lisa told Esquire magazine that Evans feared the pressures of fame.## "His biggest fear was losing his anonymity. He said, 'I have a career now where I can do work I really like. I can walk my dog. Nobody bothers me. Nobody wants to talk to me. I can go wherever I want. And the idea of losing that is terrifying to me'," she said.## "I said to him, 'Look, you want to do acting work for the rest of your life? If you do this part, you will have the opportunity. You'll never have to worry about paying the rent. If you take the part, you just have to decide, 'It's not going to affect my life negatively - it will enable it.'## " Evans, who also starred in the 2005 film "Fantastic Four" and its 2007 sequel, took his mother's advice and has now played Steve Rogers/ Captain America in 10 Marvel movies.## For more and latest news about Hollywood, stay tuned with us.
