Superstar Akshay Kumar Opens Up About The Authenticity Of 'Prithviraj' Directed By Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Mumbai, May 6 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar will kickstart the promotion of his upcoming magnum opus, "Prithviraj" with the trailer on May 9. The long-awaited historical action drama based on the life of Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan is written and directed by Padma Shri awardee Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi. ## Akshay, in a recent interview, opened up about the movie and said that he was taken aback by the amount of research done on the film to keep it the most authentic. "Writing and directing a historical is not an easy job and I was deeply impressed that he has left no stone unturned to ensure that we are paying the most glorious tribute to Samrat Prithviraj Chauhan’s life and valour", the actor said as per Gulf News. ## "He waited for 18 years of his life nurturing and making Prithviraj the most glorious retelling of the Samrat's life. I hope that people love this film and it becomes the most authentic reference point for the mighty king's life", he added. ## Director Dwivedi had personally worked on the script from 2004 to 2019 and he kept updating the script every year. The director said that producer Aditya Chopra of Yash Raj Films, "converted an entire floor of YRF into a research wing for Prithviraj".## The makers are also planning to "to showcase all this research work to people and the teams are working to see how best they can display this research so that people understand the magnitude of work that was undertaken to give the best possible salute to the glorious king Prithviraj". ## "Prithviraj" marks former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar's Bollywood debut. She will be seen playing the role of King Prithviraj's beloved Sanyogita. The movie also stars Sanjay Dutt, and Sonu Sood, among others in key roles. Prithviraj Is My Dream Project, Says Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi

Mumbai, May 3 - The long-awaited historical action drama film, "Prithviraj" is getting ready for June 3rd worldwide release. In the movie, Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar plays celebrated Rajput emperor Prithviraj Chauhan along with Manushi Chhillar, who makes her Hindi film debut playing the role of Sanyogita. ## Written and directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, the movie is based on medieval poet Chand Bardai's epic poem Prithviraj Raso. It also stars Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. Director Dwivedi in a recent interview spoke about the movie and called it his dream project that has been a long time coming. ## "Prithviraj is my dream project. It's a script that I have nurtured for a long, long time because of the extensive research work that was needed before I even attempted to make a film on this mighty and legendary king. To be precise, Prithviraj's final research took about six months for me to be fully satisfied that every single fact was checked multiple times", said Dwivedi as per Indian Express. ## The director further said that he is fully satisfied as a filmmaker for taking so much time before releasing his dream. "There is no Samrat like Prithviraj in our history and I hope our film is a fitting tribute to his valour and magnanimous way of life", he added. ## Produced by Yash Raj Films, the movie is one of the costliest ever in Bollywood with a budget of over 250 crores. The Theatrical Run Time Of Akshay Kumar's 'Prithviraj' Is Lower Than Expected

Mumbai, January 27 - If there were no covid-19 third wave, then another Akshay Kumar's film would have been released in theaters by now. The actor is on a roll when it comes to doing films. After the release of "Atrangi Re" on Disney Plus Hotstar, all eyes are on Akshay's next release "Prithviraj". ## "Prithviraj", which marks the Bollywood debut of former Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, was supposed to release in cinemas on January 21st, but the surge in covid-19 cases forced the makers to postpone the release for one more time. While the new release date is yet to finalize, the makers have reportedly completed the censorship formalities. ## According to reports, the much-anticipated historical action drama has gotten a U/A certificate from CBFC with a run time of 135 minutes (2 hours 15 minutes). It is among the shortest films in Akshay's career. The theatrical run time, however, is definitely is shorter than expected. ## For the comparison, normally films on historical figures do run for nearly 3 hours. Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed "Padmaavat" clocked in for 163 minutes while his "Bajirao Mastani" ran for 158 minutes. Kangana Ranaut's "Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi" did click 150 minutes.## "Prithviraj", which is directed by Padma Shri Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, is based on the life of Prithviraj Chauhan, a Rajput king from the Chahamana dynasty. It features Akshay Kumar as Prithviraj Chauhan, while Manushi Chhillar is playing the female lead role of Sanyogita alongside Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood, Ashutosh Rana, Sakshi Tanwar, Manav Vij, and Lalit Tiwari in other important characters. ## Produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films, the teaser of "Prithviraj" was released in November last year, which created a lot of anticipation for the film. ## Stay tuned...

Mumbai, January 26 - The government of India has announced the recipient of civilian awards for this year. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has directed Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhiller's upcoming movie "Prithviraj", has been honored with the Padma Shri award, the fourth-highest civilian award of the country for his service in the field of art.## Dr. Dwivedi is humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award and dedicated it the the Republic of India. "I'm deeply humbled to have been bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri award. I have been fortunate enough to creatively collaborate with some of the best minds of the Hindi film and television industry", the filmmaker said in a statement. ## Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is best known for directing the historical tv show "Chanakya" in the 90s. His next directorial is the feature film "Prithviraj", which tells the story of valour of the fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay portrays the title role while the movie is produced by Yash Raj Film. ## "I have always been someone who has tried to tell a story that is immersed in our country's history and culture and I dedicate this award to my country. This recognition will drive me to tell stories that celebrate my motherland in its full glory like my next 'Prithviraj' in which we will honor the valour of one of the bravest warriors that India has ever seen", he added.## "Prithviraj" was supposed to release on January 21 this year but has been postponed amid the 3rd covid-19 wave. Dr. Dwivedi, however, is hopeful that the audience will love the film whenever it will release.
