Box Office: 'How To Train Your Dragon', 'Ballerina' And 'Materialists' Opening Weekend Collection

Mumbai, June 16 - There were three new Hollywood releases this past weekend at the Indian box office. Despite the competition with Indian titles, all three films, which include "How To Train Your Dragon", "Ballerina", and "Materialists", did decent business in the opening weekend. ## How To Train Your Dragon, which is the live-action remake of the 2010 animated film, was the top Hollywood grosser among all the films. It took a decent opening of an estimated 2.60 crores gross before jumping over the weekend to collect an estimated 12.75 crores gross in 3 days in India in all versions. ## The word of mouth for HTTYD is positive, which should help the movie to continue doing steady business, though the competition will intensify once Aamir Khan's "Sitaare Zameen Par" arrives on June 20. The film will be looking to finish with 30+ crores gross, which is a good result. ## And de Armes' action thriller Ballerina, the spin-off of the John Wick franchise, grossed approximately 8.25 crores in the opening weekend. It is a decent result for the film, given its A-rated content and strong competition. It needs to be seen how the film performs in the coming days, as word of mouth is mixed. ## There is this romantic comedy Materialists, featuring Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal, which was the biggest gainer in terms of showing growth. Russo Brothers Reveal Estimated Runtime of 'Avengers: Doomsday' And 'Avengers: Secret Wars'

Los Angeles, March 5 - Marvel Studios' highly-awaited Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are fast approaching their releases. Doomsday will be the first to release in 2026, followed by Secret Wars in 2027, and the Russo Brothers, who are set to direct both, have revealed the estimated runtime of both films. ## Speaking to Collider's Steve Weintraub for their upcoming film, The Electric State, the director duo teased the runtime of their high-profile Marvel blockbusters. Both films will be longer than most of the Marvel movies. The longest-running film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Avengers: Endgame (182 minutes), was directed by Russos and it was their last MCU film.## Well, the upcoming Avengers movies may not necessarily be the longest films in the MCU but they are surely going to be the closest to the longest film as according to the directors, the first one (Doomsday) is two and a half, and the second one (Secret Wars) is three hours long.## Doomsday, which is scheduled to hit the big screen on May 1, 2026, will start filming this summer. As per Russos, it will be the most radical Marvel movie to date and the audience will be shocked to see it. It will revolve around Robert Downey Jr.'s Doctor Doom and will also involve the new Fantastic Four — Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon-Moss Bachrach along with other MCU stars.## The follow-up to Doomsday will be Secret Wars which begins filming next year and be released on May 7, 2027. Marvel Studios 'Captain America: Brave New World' Box Office Projection Revealed

Los Angeles, January 13 - Marvel Studios's first blockbuster of the year, Captain America: Brave New World is gearing up for the big screen debut in February. This marks Anthony Mackie's first full-fledged Captain America film in the title role after Chris Evans retired from this duty. ## Directed by Julius Onah, the film hits the screens in less than five weeks, and the first box office projection revealed it is heading for an opening close to 2014's Captain America: Winter Soldier which opened to $95 million over Friday to Sunday weekend at the domestic (North America) box office. ## According to Deadline, The Brave New World, which is a reset of the franchise, is expected to do $86 million to $95 million over the 3-day Valentine's Day Day weekend and $100+ million over Friday to Monday over Presidents' Day weekend domestically. ## There is every possibility of bigger weekend totals for the film as Deadline reports that on the tracking service Quorum, Captain America: Brave New World has the most awareness of movies opening in February 2025 and those debuting in the same weekend. ## Marvel Studios rules the 4-day Presidents' Day weekend openers domestically with the top three with 2018's Black Panther ($242.1 million), Deadpool ($152.1 million) and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania ($120.3 million). Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania posted a 3-day of $106.1 million, Deadpool's was $132.4 million, while Black Panther's was $202 million.## It is intended to be the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series, a continuation of the television miniseries The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021), and the 35th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). After Robert Downey Jr., Marvel Brings Chris Evans On Board 'Avengers: Doomsday'

Los Angeles, December 10 - Marvel Studios is re-assembling its OG superheroes for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday after seemingly closing that chapter in the last Avengers film - Avengers: Endgame, back in 2019. ## After officially confirming Robert Downey Jr.'s big Marvel comeback, this time as a villain, to play Doctor Doom in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday (2026) and Avengers: Secret Wars (2027), Hollywood media has reported that Chris Evans who played Captain America, is also returning to the MCU. ## According to the report by Deadline, the role of Evans isn't entirely clear at this point but he in the Captain America costume seems less likely. However, the report states it wouldn't be a shock if he reprises that iconic role as Steve Rogers though Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson character will also return as Captain America. ## It is not that Evans hasn't featured in the MCU title after Endgame, the actor recently had a cameo in the highest-grossing R-rated movie of all-time, the MCU's Deadpool & Wolverine, as his character from the Fox/Marvel early aughts days, which are also pre-Captain America: Johnny Storm from the Fantastic Four movies.## Deadline has also reported that apart from Downey Jr., and Evans, many other Marvel OG superheroes are expected to return for Doomsday. 'Captain America: Brave New World' To Be The Most Expensive Marvel Movie?

Mumbai, June 28 - Marvel Studios' Captain America: Brave New World is getting expensive and if reports are to be believed, it could end up being the costliest Marvel movie ever. It is intended to be the fourth instalment in the Captain America film series and stars Anthony Mackie as the new Captain America. ## According to the report by World of Reel, Captain America 4 initially had a budget of $275 million and was supposed to wrapped filming in 2023 itself. However, the movie went into reshoots after the unsatisfactory output and this has reportedly increased the budget by $75 million - $100 million to make it a $350+ million budgeted blockbuster, in the line of Age of Ultron's $365 million budget (unadjusted for inflation). ## If the rumours budget is true, it will be a massive task for Marvel and Disney to bring the audience to theatres in the numbers they used to before as there is no Chris Evans as Captain America this time even though the brand Marvel is still expected to pull things to some extent. ## There is no official synopsis as of now but Captain America 4 is confirmed to be the continuation of the Disney Plus series, The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (2021) starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, among others.
