Legendary Amitabh Bachchan To Play 'God' Again

Mumbai, June 8 - Legendary Amitabh Bachchan is all set to play the role of God in the sequel to the 2022 Gujarati movie Fakt Mahilao Maate in which Big B played a prominent role. ## In the sequel, titled Fakt Purusho Maate, Big B will play the cameo role of a God. The family drama is based on the social themes of gender equality and conflict between generations. Jay Bodas who directed the first movie, will helm the sequel with Parth Trivedi. ## This isn't the first time Big B has stepped into the shoes of God for a film. He previously played God in Salman Khan and Priyanka Chopra's God Tussi Great Ho (2008).## Fakt Purusho Maate is produced by Anand Pandit and Vaishal Shah and it stars Yash Soni, Mitra Gadhvi, Esha Kansara and Darshan Jariwala. Amitabh Bachchan shot for his cameo on June 6 in the movie which will be released on Janmashtami 2024. ## Fakt Mahilao Maate, which was released in August 2022, was a big box office success with a gross collection of over 20 crores. Meanwhile, Big B will next be seen in the Pan India movie Kalki 2898 AD, co-starring Prabhas, Deepika Padukone, Disha Patani, and Kamal Haasan. The star-studded film features, veteran actor Paresh Rawal along with Mrunal Thakur, Sharman Joshi, Abhimanyu Dassani, Divya Dutta, Abhishek Banerjee, Darshan Jariwala, Grusha Kapoor, and Vijay Raaz in the key roles. ## Vivek Krishnani, Managing Director, Sony Pictures Films India says, "In these times, 'Aankh Micholi' will be the perfect comedy entertainer to bring entire families together and will truly be a rib-tickling roller-coaster ride. Sayani to star as acid attack victim in 'The Good Karma Hospital'

Mumbai, March 24 (IANS) Actress Sayani Gupta will be seen essaying the role of a nurse in a British medical drama titled "The Good Karma Hospital".## In the ITV series, Sayani will play a nurse named Jyoti, who falls prey to an acid attack. The series, that was shot in 2018, has a few tracks one of which, follows Sayani's character post the attack and goes through 17 restorative stages of surgery and medical procedure. It will also put spotlight on her grueling personal journey and transition after the acid attack.## "I got cast for this after a couple of auditions by Sehar Latif and this was one of the most gratifying and heartbreaking characters I played so far. The British cast and crew along with the Sri-Lankan crew were absolutely incredible," Sayani said.## She continued to narrate her experience on the sets: "And to be doing most of my scenes with the terrific Amanda Redman and Nimmi Harasgama was unbelievably educational actually. I learned so much on that set. We had two directors Philip John and John Mckay who were both so uniquely brilliant. I underwent 17 stages of acid attack and surgical prosthetics and Davy Jones, a BAFTA winner prosthetics genius and Abby did some groundbreaking work on me. Graham Frame who is one of the most senior and respected cinematographers from Britain shot the show. I learned a great deal from him as well and we had a beautiful equation. Tiger aspects are the producers and Trevor and Rosemary took such good care of us. This entire team of British and Sri-Lankan crew was just so magnanimous and wonderful. We had such a beautiful time shooting in stunning Sri Lanka. I really got lucky with this one and will always be grateful for this magical experience."## The series is set in a hospital in Kerala and is set to bring many more exciting and gripping plot-lines for its third installment of the show. The shooting was done in Galle, in Sri-Lanka over three months. Ranveer Singh recalls his tryst with the stage

Mumbai, March 20 (IANS) Bollywood's livewire star Ranveer Singh shared a major throwback image that disclosed that he had tried his hands at theatre before his Bollywood debut role in "Band Baaja Baaraat". ## Before Bollywood, Ranveer had worked in an English play called "Carry On At The Keyhole". It was a comedy directed by Dinkar Jani. ## Sharing a poster of the play on social media, the actor said: "This is a poster for a small play in which I had a small part and the story goes that I used to be a struggler and I used to sit at Prithvi theatre with two or three others like me. We used to just sit there every day, look for odd jobs. One of them got the information that an audition is happening in a college in Andheri for a small role in a small play and nobody wanted to go -- I said I'll go because I didn't have anything at that time!" ## Ranveer added: "I thought to myself -- ‘acting acting hoti hai, koi bada chhota kya hota hai' (acting is acting, nothing big or small about it). I went for the audition , I got the part and they were very impressed by my acting. When we put up the performance - I remember one was at St Andrews and even then I felt proud when I was performing at St Andrews stage because I used to perform on St Andrews stage as a student when I was in school." ## "So, you know, we had a few performances, I had the role of an interior decorator who was posing to be a homosexual man in order to attract more business and it was an old English double-meaning comedy play that was headlined by Darshan Jariwala and directed by Dinkar Jani," Ranveer recalled. ## Ranveer claimed whoever came to watch the play used to be be impressed by his performance. ## "I really took it very seriously and I gave it everything. I used to wear some of my own clothes and most of the people who came to watch the play were just friends and family whom I had informed that I am doing this performance and to come and see it, he said, adding: "I remember meeting Yogesh Sanghvi (the producer of the play) at an awards show last year which is when we re-connected and it was a very emotional moment for him and for me - to meet after all those years - just to see his moist eyes , the pride in his eyes - ‘tu kahan se kahan pahuch gaya mere dost' and I was also getting a bit emotional when I met him because he used to really like me, he used to be very kind to me." ## Ranveer recalled there wasn't much money in theatre but whatever the producer made, he would give to him very generously. ## "He was always very fair and kind to me. Mumbai, March 1 (IANS) Actress Bhagyashree shot to fame with her 1989 debut film 'Maine Pyar Kiya' opposite Salman Khan. Then, even as she was being touted as Bollywood's next big thing, she announced her marriage to Himalaya, who was an aspiring actor then, and subsequently became a businessman. The early marriage took a toll on her fledgling career and she never quite managed to make a comeback. ## While Bhagyashree and hubby Himalaya have always known to be deeply in love, she has now revealed that there was a one-and-a-half year phase when she had to stay away from him. ## In a video posted by celebrity lensperson Viral Bhayani on Instagram, the 51-year-old actress is seen interacting at an event. In the video, she says: "Himalaya ji was my first love and, yes, I got married to him. Lekin ek arsa tha beech mein jab hum juda ho gaye the (However, there was a period of time in between when we were separated)." ## Bhagyashree continued to say that the period of separation made her mull over the question of what would happen if she had not married Himalaya. "I had that feeling that 'what if I hadn't got him in my life and I had married someone else?' It got me to that stage because there was a period of a year and a half that we weren't together. Woh ehsaas abhi bhi yaad aata hai toh darr lagta hai (recalling that feeling still scares me)." ## Back in the day, it had been reported how Bhagyashree and Himalaya got married in a hush-hush temple ceremony against the wishes of their parents, in the presence of Salman and "Maine Pyar Kiya" director Sooraj Barjatya among a handful of close friends and colleagues. ## Bhagyashree's son Abhimanyu Dassani is now an aspiring actor.
