Mumbai, June 21 - The leading streaming platform, Netflix has made some major changes in its viewership metrics which resulted in some major shakeups in its top 10 most popular titles across categories. ## Netflix will now report in average viewership for its programming as "views", which is hours viewed divided by total runtime. The views will now decide Netflix's top 10 weekly and all-time titles though hours viewed will still be available. The streamer also has expanded the viewership measurement window from 28 days to 91 days. ## The new changes have made "Wednesday" Season 1 the most popular English show of all time on Netflix with 252.1 million views, overtaking "Stranger Things 4's" 140.7 million views. However, in terms of viewing hours, ST4 remains the most-watched English show with 1.83 billion viewing hours, followed by "Wednesday" with 1.71 billion viewing hours.## The global Korean blockbuster series "Squid Game" still remains Netflix's most popular series ever (English or Non-English), even after the shift. It scored 265.2 million views and 2.2 billion viewing hours in the first 91 days. It is the only Netflix series or film to top 2 billion viewing hours of all time. ## Among the most popular films (English or non-English), "Red Notice" remains on the top even after changes with 230.9 million views and 454.2 million viewing hours in 91 days. Among the non-English films, the Norwegian monster film "Troll" remains unchanged with 103 million views and 178.6 million views hours. ## Meanwhile, no Indian film or series features in Netflix's 10 lists even after changes. Mumbai, June 18 - Filmmaker Hansal Mehta won high praise for his critically acclaimed thriller series "Scam 1992: The Harshad Mehta Story" in 2020, and now, after 3 years, Mehta is returning with its follow-up series Scam 2003: The Telgi Story, directed by Tushar Hiranandani. ## The much-awaited series is adapted from the Hindi book "Reporter Ki Diary" authored by journalist Sanjay Singh, who is credited with breaking the story of the scam back in the time. Mumbai, June 13 - Jio Cinema's Asur 2 is one of the most appreciated Indian web shows of all time. The crime thriller series boasts a stellar cast, including Arshad Warsi and Barun Sobti along with Anupriya Goenka, Ridhi Dogra, and Amey Wagh in prominent roles. ## The show has been the talk of the town for the last couple of weeks after debuting on June 1 on the streamer, and not surprisingly, it has been the most-watched Indian show since its launch. Mumbai, May 18 - Telugu actor Nani's period action drama film Dasara is getting ready for its post-theatrical streaming release on Netflix. The movie was released theatrically in March of this year and went on to become a big hit in the original Telugu version with a worldwide gross collection of over 100 crores.## Directed by debutante Srikanth Odela, "Dasara" was a Pan India release, however, it failed badly in other languages without making any impact. Los Angeles, May 17 - Marvel Studios has confirmed the release date of its highly-awaited Disney Plus series Loki - Season 2 along with "Hawkeye" spinoff series Echo.## The Tom Hiddleston-fronted "Loki - Season 2" will debut its premiere episode on October 6, 2023. It will be the first Marvel Studios series that is getting its second season after the highly successful first season, which debuted in 2021. ## Season 2 of Loki, which consists of 6 episodes, will be part of Phase Five of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It is set in an MCU-adjacent world, in which the God of Mischief is a fish out of water when he lands in trouble with the bureaucratic TVA (Time Variance Authority) after absconding with the Tesseract. ## Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead have directed the show while Eric Martin serves as head writer and has written all six episodes. Mumbai, April 29 - The leading Hollywood studio, Warner Bros. Discovery has partnered with India's Mukesh Ambani-backed Viacom18 to bring HBO, Max Originals, and Warner Bros. content to India through Jio Cinema.## Jio Cinema, which is already taking giant steps in the Indian digital space, has further strengthened its position among other platforms like Amazon, Disney+Hotstar, and Netflix. The deal between Warner Bros. and Viacom18 has the potential to change the landscape of the Indian OTT as Warner Bros. shows are hugely popular in India. ## As per the reports, the licensing agreement with Warner Bros., estimated to cost Viacom18 over $20 million annually, highlights Ambani's growing efforts to establish JioCinema as a dominant streaming platform in India's otherwise crowded market.## The deal is said to be for three years, unlike the previous Warner Bros. deal with Disney Plus Hotstar which was for the longer term. Mumbai, April 27 - Viacom18 and Warner Bros. Discovery have signed a multi-year deal to bring HBO, Max Original, and Warner Bros. content to Indian viewers via Jio Cinema from May this year. Disney-owned Star TV was the previous home of WBD content, but the deal with Star expired at the end of March this year.## The new landmark deal includes current and future seasons of HBO, Max Originals, and Warner Bros. shows. The upcoming television series will premiere on JioCinema on the same day as the U.S., making them exclusive to Indian viewers. Los Angeles, April 17 - Netflix series Florida Man debuts with the lowest rating possible on the reviews aggregation website Rotten Tomatoes after just 5 critics reviews. ## "Florida Man" which premiered on April 13, has become one of the rarest web series to score ZERO ratings from critics on Rotten Tomatoes. However, it does not seem that series is that bad as the audience score is on the higher side with 85% from over 100 users at the time of writing this piece. ## On the other side, the nothing reviews from critics aren't affecting the viewership at all as the series is the second most watched English title currently in Netflix's weekly top 10 list, behind only "Beef" this weekend.## The series stars Edgar Ramirez as a struggling ex-cop forced to return to his home state of Florida to find a Philly mobster's runaway girlfriend. Mumbai, May 6 - Two of the biggest Bollywood films of 2022, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan's Vikram Vedha and Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon's Bhediya have been waiting for their digital release.## Directed by Pushkar-Gayatri, Vikram Vedha was released theatrically on September 29. It was the hotly anticipated film, however, changing dynamics of theatrical business post the covid-19 pandemic made sure the movie underperformed at the box office though it still managed to gross close to 140 crores worldwide. ## Bhediya, part of Dinesh Vijan's horror-comedy universe, too underperformed at the box office, mainly because of the multiple top choices that were available at that time in theaters. It was released on November 25 and grossed a little less than 100 crores worldwide. ## Nonetheless, both the aforementioned films got mixed to positive reviews which could help them to draw some viewership on OTT. However, it has been a long wait and fans have been inquiring about the digital release dates of the two films. The official confirmation hasn't been made yet but both movies will be streaming on the new revamped Jio Cinema platform. ## According to reports, Vikram Vedha will make its digital debut on May 12 while Bhediya will start streaming on May 26, 2023. Mumbai, April 12 - Bollywood star Shahid Kapoor's maiden collaboration with director Ali Abbas Zafar finally got some update after Jio Studios unveiled the first look poster today. The movie has been in production since 2021. ## A few hours later after the first look poster was released, Jio Studios also released new action-packed glimpses, and reportedly, the release date was also revealed. It is said that the crime action thriller will be released on June 9, 2023. ## Bloody Daddy will skip theatrical release and will directly premiere on the Jio Cinema app. This announcement was made at the event of Jio Studios, which has backed the action entertainer.
