Bengaluru, Dec 23 (IANS) The trailer of Kannada actor Danish Sait's web series 'Humble Politician Nograj' is out. Helmed by Saad Khan, the series features Danish Sait, Varun Thakur, Prakash Belawadi, Vinay Chendoor and Disha Madan. ## Saad Khan, who directed Kannada film 'Humble Politician Nograj' in 2018, is now coming up with a series of the same name. The film features Danish Sait in the lead role, portraying the titular character of Nograj. ## In the trailer of the web series, Danish can be seen reprising his role as Nograj. The story revolves around corrupt politician Nograj and his journey from being an MLA to becoming the Chief Minister of Karnataka. ## Director Saad Khan said: "I love observing people, their mannerisms and quirks - obviously in a tactful manner. Real life experiences always help in crafting a character or a story. So while writing our show, the world and the other zany characters around Nograj, I was able to draw from my own observational experiences and add comical traits of all the fascinating people I have met into our narrative. The way Danish embodies Nograj and seeing him perform gave me a canvas to work with and that really helped envision everything else." ## He further shares on the challenges of dealing with comedy as a genre and how Danish is the perfect choice for essaying the character of Nograj. "As a director, comedy is not an easy genre to tackle, but Danish and I have worked together for over 8 years now, and we laugh at the same things, almost always. When we work on a scene, instantly we both know whether it works or not. For me Danish is synonymous with humour, and nobody can ace Nograj better than him," he adds. ## Danish opens up about his character, Nograj in the series and says: , "The character, Nograj has a hysterically funny personality with optimistic ambitions. To get into his shoes required a lot of preparation. I had to think and feel like a 'scamster', and to keep the infectious energy consistent. There are some characters that influence your personality and Nograj did that for me in a good way. Mumbai, Dec 23 (IANS) Isha Koppikar will be soon seen in the investigative drama 'Suranga', a gripping series that revolves around a bank heist. The actress will be playing the role of an assistant bank manager named Dakshayini.## Talking about the show, the actress said, "It always feels good to be in front of the camera and the icing on the cake is a good, impactful script and Suranga has been that project. We shot in the beautiful locations of Haryana and it has been a great experience shooting with such talented co-actors and an amazing team." ## "I play an Assistant Bank Manager named Dakshayini who is carefree, independent, and a focused woman but the truth can be different from what meets the eye," she added.## The storyline of the show depicts the journey of a heist from its plotting to execution. Los Angeles, December 23 - Michael Keaton was recently confirmed to return as Bruce Wayne a.k.a. Batman in the upcoming "The Flash" movie starring Ezra Miller in the title role. Now, according to Variety, the actor will also be reprising his iconic role in "Batgirl", the upcoming HBO Max superhero film. ## Keaten will be making his return as Caped Crusader alongside Leslie Grace, who's playing the title role in the first "Batgirl" film. Though the plot details about "Batgirl" have been kept under wraps for now, the film centers on the heroine whose real identity is Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham police commissioner Jim Gordon.## J.K. Simmons is returning to portray Jim Gordon after first playing the character in Zack Snyder's "Justice League". Brendan Fraser is playing the villainous Firefly, a sociopath with a passion for pyrotechnics. "Batgirl" is currently in production in London under the direction of Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah ("Bad Boys for Life"). Mumbai, December 20 - Director Shakun Batra's long-in-production "Gehraiyaan" has opted for a direct to OTT route via Amazon Prime Video. The much-awaited modern relationship drama, starring Deepika Padukone, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Ananya Panday, and Dhairya Karwa in the leads, will be landing on Prime Video in January 25, 2022. ## Producer Karan Johar of Dharma Productions said in a statement, "Gehraiyaan is an intense, real, and honest observation of modern relationships, and Shakun has done a phenomenal job of portraying the complexities of human emotions. Starting today, you will see savings from about 18 to 60 percent, depending on the Netflix plan you subscribe to. ## The Netflix “Mobile” plan, previously at Rs. 199 per month, has dropped 25 percent to Rs. 149 per month. The biggest savings are in store for the “Basic” Netflix plan — previously available at Rs. 499 per month, it will now cost just Rs. 199 per month in India. Going up the ladder, the “Standard” Netflix plan has been cut down from Rs. 649 per month to Rs. 499 per month. That's a 23 percent saving. That leaves the Netflix “Premium” plan, which goes from Rs. 799 per month to Rs. 649 per month. The four Netflix plans available in India have each dropped prices to the one below them, with “Mobile” occupying a new slot at Rs. 149. ## If you already have a Netflix subscription, you will be seamlessly upgraded to the higher plan starting today. The next time you log in, members will get a notification on their devices that asks them to Confirm Upgrade or choose a different plan if they so desire. For those on the top Netflix “Premium” plan, the change in pricing will come into effect from the next billing cycle. Kochi, December 11 - Dulquer Salmaan's patience and trust in the crime drama film "Kurup" paid off big-time as it is turned out to be 3rd highest-grossing Malayalam movie of all time. Due to the continuous delay in the release date caused by the covid-19 pandemic and restrictions of theaters, "Kurup" was reportedly gearing for a direct OTT release, but the makers later changed the plans and gave it a theatrical shot. ## While the official box office collection hasn't been revealed by the makers, the Srinath Rajendran-directed has comfortably crossed Rs. 80 crores worldwide gross, which makes it the highest-grossing film for Salmaan. Mumbai, December 8 - Akshay Kumar-starrer "Sooryavanshi" is heading towards an Rs. 300 crores worldwide gross and it is turning out to be a mega success at the box office. The cop-drama was released exclusively in worldwide theaters on November 5 for the 28 days before it landed on Netflix on December 3. ## As expected, the Rohit Shetty-directed, after winning the box office battle, is now ruling Netflix's viewership charts at the global level. According to the data released by the streamer, "Sooryavanshi" was watched by 7.11 million viewing hours in the first three days, which helped it to break into the top 5 most-watched non-English titles on Netflix from November 29 - December 5 worldwide. ## The viewing hours will be increased as the week progresses and it might end up in the top 3 in the next week. Meanwhile, during the same week, Kartik Aaryan's thriller film "Dhamaka" was at number 9 with 2.35 million viewing hours. It was a direct Netflix release on November 19. ## "Sooryavanshi", meanwhile, is still going strong at the box office despite being available on Netflix. The movie has so far netted Rs. 193.85 crores at the Indian box office with an eye on a milestone figure of Rs. 200 crores. Mumbai, December 2 - India's leading film production company, Yash Raj Films is making its smashing debut in the digital world, announcing the studios' first web series, "The Railway Men". A tribute to the unsung heroes of the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, the show marks YRF's streaming content production's first out of five shows into the booming digital content (over-the-top or OTT) landscape of India. ## The show will tell the story of workers at the Bhopal railway station who saved thousands of lives during one of the world's worst industrial disasters when a cloud of toxic gas escaped from an American pesticide plant, in 1984, in the central Indian city of Bhopal. The series will be streaming from December 2, 2022.## "The Railway Men" heads the cast including R. Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Divyenndu Sharma, and late Irrfan Khan's son Babil Khan. Mumbai, December 1 - As Netflix's popular show "Money Heist" is gearing up for its finale with volume two of season 5 premiering on December 3, the streaming platform has already ordered a spin-off series on the show's popular character "Berlin". ## On November 30, the Money Heist cast attended a fan event. During the event, Netflix announced that Pedro Alonso will get a spin-off titled "Berlin: A New Series", which will premiere in 2023. Berlin is the undercover name for the character, otherwise called Andrés de Fonollosa in Money Heist. He is the elder brother of Sergio aka The Professor, played by actor Alvaro Morte. ## "It is a memorable moment because it is the end of one cycle and the beginning of another", Alonso said at the fan event.
