Keeping the trend continue, Bhumi Pednekar and Konkona Sen Sharma starrer Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare is set to have an OTT release. ## Set in a developing industrial area on the outskirts of New Delhi, "Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare" chronicles the quiet transgression of two women who are cousins, and who find freedom through complicated love-hate equations. ## The comedy satire film directed by Alankrita Shrivastava of "Lipstick Under My Burkha" fame, will be premiered on Netflix on September 18. The movie is produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under the banners of Balaji Motion Pictures and ALT Entertainment. ## Bhumi Pednekar has welcomed the decision and said that she is okay with any platform being the vehicle of her creative expression. "As an artist, I only look to entertain the audience every time I am on the screen and I am okay with any platform becoming the vehicle of my creative expression", Bhumi said in a statement. ## The movie was initially decided to release in theaters on October 4 last year but got postponed. Vikrant Massey and Shweta Tripathi-starrer Cargo is set to release on September 9 on the OTT platform Netflix. Two of the most awaited and anticipated movies, Sooryavanshi and 83 that are still holding back for a theatrical release, may now be opted for the OTT route. Reliance Entertainment CEO Shibasish Sarkar has said that in the scenario that theatres fail to open up by a certain time or audience doesn't come, then they can go for the OTT route as they don't want to push the release date furthermore.## Speaking to Bollywood Hungama, Shibasish Sarkar said, "We are 100% inclined to take theatrical route. However, at the same time, we don't want to delay the release further than practically possible. That means we will not like to push release dates beyond Diwali / Christmas. So the first option is to go theatrical if cinemas open up and audiences are back".## He hinted at the possibility of the films being given a rental release, like the Disney film Mulan, which would mean that subscribers of a certain streaming platform would have to pay an amount above and beyond their regular monthly subscription to watch the films. Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui whose 'Raat Akeli Hai' was recently premiered on Netflix, opens up about the same. ## Speaking to a leading portal, Nawazuddin Siddiqui said, "There is freedom and there is an advantage (of releasing movies) especially with bigger OTT platforms like Netflix. There is an advantage because, when a film made on the budget of Rs 100-150 crore is released in the theatres, it takes over all the screens, even if the movie is shit."## He further said that the lower budget movies that do not get enough shows because of the big-budget movies in theaters, on OTT platform even the low budget movies get same kind of viewership.## "On the other hand, good, low budget films do not get screens and even if they get it will get a show at 11 in the morning or 11 in the night. After many complaints and objections received from the concerned citizens, the Ministry of Defence has taken a big step against the movies and web series that air military content. From now on, any kind of content on the military will have to obtain a no-objection certificate (NOC) or clearance from the Ministry of Defence. ## The Ministry of Defence has written a letter to the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (Ministry of I&B) to advise production houses to obtain NOC from them before telecasting any film/documentary/web series on army theme in the public domain. The letter was sent by the Ministry of Defence on July 27. ## "In some of the web series like 'Code M' on Zee 5 and 'XXX Uncensored (season-2)' on ALT Balaji, the scenes related to the Army are far from reality and present a distorted image of the Armed Forces," said a senior government official as reported by News 18. ## The step to make obtaining NOC mandatory has been taken after much deliberation. Sources further pointed out that this has been done "to curtail the incidents which distort the image of the defence forces and hurt the sentiments of the defence personnel and veterans", reported News 18.## The military has been very particular about its image and the content projected in different web series or documentaries or movies. Bollywood films on the military go through a mandatory clearance process. However, with increased OTT platforms, the military feels that it needs to moderate any possible alleged negative depiction of the uniform.## Stay tuned...

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar had announced in March 2019 that he will mark his digital debut with Amazon Prime Video web series 'The End'. He announced this action series in a special event where he set himself fire to give a sneak peek about the series. ## The series was going to begin in December this year but due to the COVID-19 pandemic and Akshay Kumar's other commitments, the series will now be on floors in the mid of the year 2021. According to reports, Akshay will finish his pending work before begin shooting for his digital debut series.## Talking to a leading daily, producer Vikram Malhotra said, "The show was to roll in December tentatively, with Akshay joining us in January 2021. But, it has been four months (into the lockdown), and it will be a few more months before normalcy is restored. Akshay, too, has other commitments. So, we are hoping to get into production by the second half of 2021."## He also stated that 'The End' is not a project that can be tweaked and start rolling next month as other projects and films are doing currently. In the line-up of movies releasing on the digital platform, Tigmanshu Dhulia directed Yaara premiered on ZEE5 on July 30. The film is a remake of the French film A Gang Story (2011) and is about the rise and fall of four friends' rustling operations across India–Nepal border.## Produced by Tigmanshu Dhulia Films and Azure Entertainment, Yaara stars Vidyut Jammwal, Shruti Haasan, Amit Sadh, Vijay Varma, Sanjay Mishra, and Kenny Basumatary in key roles.## The movie, however, is getting mixed reactions. Amit Sadh and Vidyut Jammwal are receiving a lot of appreciation for their acts in this crime drama while Sanjay Mishra and Shruti Hassan looked good despite the short screen time.
