Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Advance Sales Crosses $45 Million In The US

Los Angeles, November 9 - Marvel Studios' highly-anticipated superhero sequel, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is set to take a huge opening at the domestic (North America) as well as overseas box office. In North America, the movie will open in approx. 4300 theaters.## The sequel to director Ryan Coogler's 2018's film has already scored $45 million in advance sales in the US, and by the time it hit screens, the advance booking is expected to reach $60 million - $65 million, according to The Hollywood Reporter. ## As of Sunday, "Wakanda Forever's" advance ticket sales in the U.S. stood at $45 million, which is more than "Thor: Love and Thunder" but behind "Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness", as per THR. The first Black Panther film collected $55 million in advance sales and its successor is likely to top that with ease.## "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is tracking to earn around $360 million globally in its opening weekend. In North America, the projection for the opening weekend is around $185 million while the overseas projection is approx. $180 million, cumulative suggesting a blockbuster start. ## Meanwhile, "Wakanda Forever" is also being adored by the critics who were heavily criticized for the recently released DCEU flick "Black Adam". "Black Panther 2's" critics' score currently stands at 88% from 128 reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. It is, however, low compared to its predecessor which scored 96% score. ## The sequel's journey to the big screen endured its own tragedy when Chadwick Boseman, who played the titular role of T'Challa/Black Panther in the 2018 film, died of colon cancer in August 2020. Wakanda Forever's cast includes Angela Bassett, Lupita Nyong'o, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Danai Gurira, Florence Kasumba, and Martin Freeman, as well as Marvel newcomer Tenoch Huerta as Namor and Dominique Thorne as the hero Riri Williams.## Stay tuned...

'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever' First Reactions Are Out Online

Los Angeles, October 28 - Marvel Studios/Disney's most anticipated Black Panther: Wakanda Forever has had its world premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday and the first reactions are overwhelmingly positive and it seems the movie made everyone emotional as it is touted to be the best homage to actor Chadwick Boseman who played Black Panther in the first movie. ## "Black Panther", which was released in 2018, was one of the biggest hits in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, grossing $700 million at the domestic (North America) box office and $1.3 billion worldwide. It was also the first comic book movie nominated for best picture at the Oscars. ## The anticipation for the "Black Panther" sequel is already sky-high and after the kind of reception it is getting from its world premiere, it is certain to take one of the biggest openings in MCU history. It stars Letitia Wright, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Winston Duke, Dominique Thorne, Florence Kasumba, Michaela Coel, Tenoch Huerta, Martin Freeman, and Angela Bassett. "Black Panther 2" is slated to open on November 11. ## Have a look at some of the reactions on the movie - ## #BlackPanther #WakandaForever is epic, especially in scope.Namor is one of the better villains the MCU has had to offer. Tenoch Huerta just kills it!Emotions are heavy. Ryan Coogler ups his game on the action. It’s a lot to take in, balance so much, and is powerfully good. pic.twitter.com/NYxk1UvTYz— BD (@BrandonDavisBD) October 27, 2022 ## This is the first MCU film where I cried through the end credits. Everyone around me was a mess. Ryan Coogler & team crafted one of the GREAT sequels, hands down. A beautiful story about finding strength in grief & community to uplift. A film that brings its whole heart & soul pic.twitter.com/GFs2EweJ4y— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) October 27, 2022 ## Continues to be one of my favorite ensembles out there. M’Baku is still my #1, but Letitia Wright’s Shuri is quite the beating heart of this film. And Tenoch Huerta? They couldn’t have found a better Namor.— Perribite (@PNemiroff) October 27, 2022 ## #WakandaForever is fantastic! Coogler delivers a soulful, wondrous sequel that packs an emotional punch & effectively explores relevant world themes. A beautiful tribute to Boseman’s legacy. Letitia & Tenoch are great, & the mid-credits scene is really moving. #BlackPanther pic.twitter.com/dqoSSfnTR9— Fico (@FicoCangiano) October 27, 2022 ## #BlackPantherWakandaForever is a beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Visual stunner, with Angela Bassett commanding every scene she inhabits. Rihanna's "Lift Me Up" will do that for many. Another great post credit scene that's genuinely a jaw-dropper. Don't know about Oscars. pic.twitter.com/55YSor1PrD— Clayton Davis - Stand with 🇺🇦 (@ByClaytonDavis) October 27, 2022 ## Ryan Coogler's #BlackPantherWakandaForever, above all else, is cathartic. An emotional movie about loss, legacy and healing. The story is intimate, but vast with global power struggles and palace intrigue. Tenoch Huerta's Namor is a FORCE, better than I hoped. So much to discuss. pic.twitter.com/cDFVcPYHRR— Sean O'Connell (@Sean_OConnell) October 27, 2022 ## #WakandaForever's bigger in scope and scale than #BlackPanther, but its story is also one of Marvel's most intimate and heartfelt. It's definitely a Comic Book Movie, but it’s one that centers grief and the grieving process rather than superheroics and spectacle. Full review soon pic.twitter.com/MzIjwVzjBd— Charles, Witch from Mercury (@CharlesPulliam) October 27, 2022 ## #WakandaForever REVIEW: MARVEL’S MAGNUM OPUS. Ryan Coogler does it again, delivering a very EMOTIONAL, EPIC & sexy, horny adventure. WOW. This isn’t just another superhero movie, it’s one of the BEST films ever! GREAT action too. A fitting end setting up what’s next #BlackPanther pic.twitter.com/xZeh7YPtMu— watching as intended (@theatomchode) October 27, 2022 ## It's hard to shake the emotional weight #BlackPanther #WakandaForever carries throughout the entire film. More serious in tone, a wonderful conclusion to Phase Four. It celebrates women as the fiercest protectors of all. Angela Bassett. Tenoch Huerta. Michaela Coel. RIHANNA! pic.twitter.com/9V2gcmKJpA— espooky bloody marie 🎃🇵🇷 (@TheJosieMarie) October 27, 2022 ## Just saw #BlackPantherWakandaForever If you’re looking for that Marvel feel that has been missing, this is it. Emotional, maybe 10 minutes too long, but who cares? Overall, a throwback to what made Marvel special in the first place. A beautiful tribute to Chadwick Boseman.— Kristian Harloff (@KristianHarloff) October 27, 2022 ## I saw #WakandaForever and trying to hold space to really gather my thoughts. Will share more soon but for now I will say it is a beautiful depiction of how grief and love co-exist, and the healing in the depths of some of our greatest pain. #BlackPanther pic.twitter.com/FVNrNdiCJh— Kay-B (@TheLadyKayB) October 27, 2022 ## #BlackPanther #WakandaForever RIPS. An epic, poignant & accomplished sequel that deepens the original’s resonant thematic power & prowess, AND serves as a loving tribute to Chadwick Boseman. Tenoch Huerta give a strong performance. Rihanna’s ballad is tender & sweet. pic.twitter.com/9TqMDbeu7X— My Scary Name *is* Courtney Howard (@Lulamaybelle) October 28, 2022 ## Finally had the honor of watching #BlackPantherWakandaForever. Marvel Studios was never as political as this film, that has action scenes, of course, but much more. For example, probably the MVP, Angela Bassett is assured of an Oscar nomination, if not winning. 👇 pic.twitter.com/OEX4Cz3rhZ— Gabriel Carvalho (@gabirucarvalho) October 27, 2022 ## Stay tuned...

'Black Panther' Sequel Is On Track For Scheduled Release Despite Delayed Production

Los Angeles, January 15 - Marvel Studios' highly anticipated sequel to "Black Panther" is on track for the scheduled release in November 2022, despite the delayed production. The production of the film got halted due to the injury of British actress, Letitia Wright, who plays Shuri in the film. ## On Friday, Letitia resumed shooting for "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever", almost five months after being injured when a stunt went wrong. At the time of injury in August 2021, it looked she would be resuming work soon but the recovery took longer than the expected time which led to the postponement of the production in November. ## Wright's Princess of Wakanda character is expected to play a bigger part in the blockbuster's sequel. The late Chadwick Boseman led the 2018 film and his role has not been re-cast following his death in 2020. ## While the release dates of 2022 Marvel Movies were already postponed due to the production changes, it was reported that "Black Panther 2" could be further delayed due to Letitia's injury. However, this is not the case as production resumed on schedule and the movie is also very much on track for its 11 November 2022 release. ## Wright's spokesperson told BBC News, "Filming resumed this month as planned and we're on schedule".## "Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" is one of the most anticipated films coming in 2022. The original "Black Panther" was a major hit on both, critically and commercially front. It was the highest-grossing solo superhero movie before "Spider-Man: No Way Home" took that spot recently. ## The film is being directed by Ryan Coogler, who co-wrote the screenplay with Joe Robert Cole, and stars Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, and Dominique Thorne.## Stay tuned...
