'Drishyam 3' To Have Same Story In All Versions

Kochi, June 23 - After the official announcement, director Jeethu Joseph has dropped a major update regarding Drishyam 3. There have been speculations that the Hindi version of this crime suspense thriller will be different, unlike the first two movies, which were remakes of the original Malayalam films. ## During a recent conversation with the Times of India, director Jeethu Joseph, who directed the first two Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 and will return for the third instalment, said that the script of the upcoming film is nearing completion and contrary to the rumours, he confirmed the plot will be same in all versions. ## "There have been reports that the Hindi version will have a different story, but that's not true. The Hindi film will also be based on my story. Once I complete my script, it will be shared with the Hindi team, who will then adapt it to suit their setting and make suitable cultural changes", the filmmaker said. ## Both Hindi and Malayalam versions of Drishyam 3 will start rolling in October this year. There were rumours that the Malayalam movie would be released before the Hindi, but Jeethu Joseph hinted that both versions may have a simultaneous release. ## "There was a request from their side for a simultaneous release. So, we have been discussing the prospect of releasing the films simultaneously. In this OTT age, they feel that releasing on different dates might reduce the film's impact in other languages", he added. ## It is confirmed that Drishyam 3 Hindi will be directed by Abhishek Pathak and will see Ajay Devgn and the rest of the cast reprising their roles. The Malayalam version features superstar Mohanlal in the lead role alongside Meena, Ansiba Hassan, Esther Anil, Murali Gopy, and Asha Sharath. ## Stay tuned...

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal's suspense thriller film, Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazone Prime Video on February 19. Jeethu Joseph To Direct Venkatesh In Telugu Remake Of Malayalam Film 'Drishyam 2'

Mohanlal starrer Malayalam movie, Drishyam 2 premiered on Amazon Prime Video on February 19 and it is getting brilliant reviews from the viewers. The Telugu remake of this suspense thriller is already in work with Jeethu Joseph returning to helm the much-anticipated remake with Telugu superstar Venkatesh. ## Released in 2014, the Telugu remake of Drishyam, titled Drushyam was directed by Sripriya, but this time, the sequel will be directed by Jeethu himself who shot to national fame with Mohanlal starrer. Venkatesh, who starred in Drushyam, will carry forward his role in the sequel. ## Jeethu Joseph announced the sequel of the Telugu remake. He also confirmed that the shooting will begin next month in March and will be wrapped up as soon as possible. It has been reported that Jeethu has already landed in Hyderabad and had been in talks with multiple people involved in the project.## Talking about Drushyam, the film tells the story of Rambabu (Venkatesh), a middle-class cable TV operator, and his family. They come under suspicion when Varun, the son of the Inspector-general of police (IG), goes missing soon after harassing Rambabu's daughter. The rest of the film reveals how Varun disappeared and what Rambabu does to keep his family from going to prison. ## Drushyam had Meena and Esther Anil from the original cast of Drishyam. Nadhiya played the role of the police officer whose son is murdered by Rambabu's daughter. ## Mohanlal's Drishyam has been remade in several languages including Hindi, Sinhalese, and Mandarin. Nishikant Kamat directed the Hindi remake and it starred Ajay Devgn, Tabu, Shriya Saran, and Ishita Dutta. The Malayalam superstar, Mohanlal's upcoming movie, Drishyam 2 is all set to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on February 19. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the suspense thriller is a sequel to the 2013 Malayalam hit Drishyam starring the megastar himself. ## However, the direct OTT release of Drishyam 2 sparked sheer criticism regarding the release of the film.
