Netizens Slam Filmfare For Picking Ranveer Singh Over Sidharth Malhotra For Best Actor Award

Mumbai, August 31 - The 67th Filmfare Awards winners have been announced and it has left a section of people disappointed regarding the Best Actor. Ranveer Singh, who played the role of legendary Indian cricketer Kapil Dev in "83", has been awarded the Best Actor award, however, many people believe that it was Sidharth Malhotra who deserved this honor most for "Shershaah". ## Sidharth Malhotra played the role of the Kargil war hero, Param Vir Chakra awardee Vikram Batra and his twin brother Vishal in the Vishnuvardhan-directorial film. Sidharth's performance in the film is regarded as the finest act of his career. ## The actor was nominated for the Best Actor award with Ranveer Singh (83), Dhanush (Atrangi Re), and Vicky Kaushal (Sardar Uddham), but it was Ranveer, who grabbed the honor at 67th Filmfare Awards 2022. This didn't go well with people who were sure about Sidharth's chances for the award. They took to Twitter and expressed their disappointment on the same. ## This aint fair. If someone deserved the best actor award this year, it was @SidMalhotra for Shershaah. Filmfare has been really biased with this decision. Disappointed. https://t.co/B6RZpUiCII— Sara Naveed (@SaraNaveed) August 30, 2022 ## #FilmfareAwards2022 goes too #RanveerSingh forhis movie 83 this is very shocked. I knowRanveeract good in 83 but not deserve best actor award #SidharthMalhotra is best choice for best actor inFilmfare for wonderful and outstanding performance in #Shershaah @filmfare can't avoid pic.twitter.com/1qTXVJBuya— Kunal Binjewar (@kunalbinjewar09) August 31, 2022 ## #PriyankaChopra not winning for Barfi and #SidharthMalhotra not winning for #Shershaah will be the two most disappointing moments in the history of Filmfare!!@SidMalhotra— Miss Granger (@MissGranger___) August 30, 2022 ## Everyone knows who deserves it. No bad against ranveer but 83 was a flop while shershah was a blockbuster. No one deserves to win more than #SidharthMalhotra This is so unfair.#FilmfareAwards2022 https://t.co/kXb8m6nMvT— À🎧 (@_aalohomora) August 30, 2022 ## Thanks! Now we are sure that filmfare is rigged! Kangana was right tho! Giving best actor award for a flop film! Kudos! #SidharthMalhotra you don't need a validation. https://t.co/vYgWmxw4LB— randomships. I've always felt that RS is a highly overrated actor. 83 was a flop. Shershaah was a blockbuster and Sid's performance was brilliant! He deserved to win this. #SidharthMalhotra https://t.co/zrnBreWwSn— riyaa (@RiyaaaS1210) August 31, 2022 ## That's why #Bollywood Is getting down day by day They never appreciate the real talent just pay and get awards pay and get fake reviews just pay for everything But never appreciate the deserving one Be ready Box office is baar krara jwaab dena ha with #ThankGod #SidharthMalhotra pic.twitter.com/rp5F0yQzuq— Sidxlovee (@sidxlovee) August 30, 2022 ## #KritiSanon deserved this award, she did a commendable job in Mimi.... But i m disappointed by fimfare, #SidharthMalhotra definitely deserved and award for #Shershaah... Anyways, he has won millions of heart through his acting and is ruling since this film has released... ❤— Rohan kumar (@Rohanku94784649) August 31, 2022 ## RS is a good actor Bt this year #SidharthMalhotra deserves Best Actor's Award. When #Shershaah won Best Action, Best editing, and also Best film then how come the person who acted in that film is not winning Best actor award it's truly unfair #FilmfareAwards2022— Sejal Nikam (@sejalnikam08) August 30, 2022 ## After Priyanka Chopra for Barfi, then Katrina Kaif for Zero, FF snubbed Sidharth Malhotra for Shershaah. This kind of bias attitude only happens in Bollywood, no wonder its falling down nowadays. Filmfare Reacts To Kangana Ranaut's Remarks Against It

Mumbai, August 22 - Filmfare magazine has reacted to National Award-winning actress, Kangana Ranaut's remarks against it. The magazine said in a statement that Kangana's remarks, in which she threatened to sue Filmfare nominating her for this year's Filmfare awards against her objection, are malicious. ## It pains us at Filmfare, today, to be subjected to unwarranted malicious remarks by Ms. Kangana Ranaut", Filmfare said in a statement. "For over six decades, Filmfare Awards, and Filmfare, at large, has been a platform that celebrates and honours talent in the Film industry impartially and with utmost transparency. It is our strong ethic that has helped us in gaining the trust of our audiences and the film industry. ## Kangana alleged that Filmfare invited her to the award ceremony and wanted to give her the Best Actress award. Filmfare, however, said, "as is customary during the awards, Filmfare's Executive Editor informed Ms. Ranaut about her nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role, Female category and asked for her address to send across the invitation". ## The magazine also posted the message which it claimed to be the actual message it send to the actress and clarified that it wasn't about her giving the award or asking for any performance. The message read, "Hello Kangana, heartiest congratulations on your nomination for the Filmfare Awards. It’ll be a pleasure to have you there, do confirm your presence at the awards ceremony on August 30 at Jio World Convention Centre at BKC, Mumbai. It’ll help us plot your seats. P.S. Regards". ## Filmfare announced that it is withdrawing 5-time Filmfare awardee Kangana's Best Actress nomination for the movie "Thalaivii", following her "irresponsible remarks about Filmfare Awards", and concluded the statement by saying, "We reserve all rights to pursue any legal action against her malicious and defamatory statements tarnishing our reputation and goodwill". ## Stay tuned...

Kangana Ranaut To Sue Filmfare After Getting Nominated In Best Actress Category

Mumbai, August 21 - National Award-winning actress and filmmaker, Kangana Ranaut has decided to sue Filmfare magazine after she got nominated for the Best Actress category for "Thalaivii". Kangana has a long history of controversies and is known for making bold statements. ## On Sunday (August 21), the "Queen" actress took to Instagram stories and announced that she is going to sue the magazine. The actress claimed that Filmfare wants her to give the award for "Thalaivii", despite knowing that she has boycotted the Filmfare awards since 2014. ## "I've banned unethical, corrupt, and totally unfair practices like @filmfare since 2014, but since I have been getting many calls from them for attending their award function this year as they want to give me an award for Thalaivii... I am shocked to know that they are still nominating me. It is beneath my dignity, work ethics, and value system to encourage such corrupt practices in any way, that is why I have decided to sue @filmfare ... thanks", she wrote. ## In this year's Filmfare awards, Kangana's "Thalaivii" has been nominated in five categories, including the Best Actress award. The actress has often spoken out against local awards for allegedly not honoring real talent. ## Earlier, Kangana also did the same for the Oscars and Emmys when they did not pay In Memorium tributes to legendary Indian singer Lata Mangeshkar and had said, "We must take strong stands against any local awards who claim to be international and yet ignore and intentionally sideline legendary artists because of their race or ideologies... both Oscar and Grammy failed to give tribute to Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar Ji... our media should totally boycott these biased local events who claim to be global awards". ## On the work front, the actress is currently working on his directorial venture "Emergency", in which she is also featured in the lead role, playing former Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. She also has "Tejas", scheduled to release later this year. ## Stay tuned...
