NETFLIX's 'Squid Game' Dethrone 'Game of Thrones' To Garner 17 Billion Youtube Views

Mumbai, November 11 - Netflix's recently released South Korean show, "Squid Game" has taken the worldwide digital audiences by storm. The show has not only become the most viewed show on Netflix but also has been a monster hit on Youtube. ## According to the content analytics firm Vobile, "Squid Game" has dethroned HBO Max's "Game of Thrones" on Youtube, attracting a staggering 17 billion views across a spectrum of long- and short-form videos. "Game of Thrones", which had a decade to amass its fan army, has attracted 16.9 billion from 420,000 uploaded videos on Youtube. ## The viewership comes from numerous types of video content, including official trailers and clips from the series, fan recreations of iconic moments, real-world challenges inspired by the plot, and even narration of user-generated video games based on the property (found on services like Roblox). ## Vobile estimates that the 17 billion views for "Squid Game" have come from 129,000 uploaded videos, including traditional long-form YouTube clips and their recently-launched TikTok competitor YouTube Shorts. Those videos also count for 533 million engagements (likes, dislikes, and comments).## Earlier, Netflix had announced that the Dystopian South Korean drama series became the streamer's biggest series launch ever with attracting 111 million views worldwide and had topped Netflix charts in more than 80 countries in less than four weeks of its debut.## Stay tuned...

London, April 14 (IANS) Actor Kristofer Hivju, who shot to global fame playing Tormund Giantsbane in the blockbuster series "Games Of Thrones", is "fully recovered and in good health" after battling COVID-19.## The actor took to Instagram to share the health update, saying he and his wife, Gry, who he believes was "most likely" infected too, are finally "free of all symptoms".## "Hi! We are fully recovered and in good health after I was infected by the coronavirus, and most likely my wife @grymolvaerhivju… After several weeks in quarantine, and also a couple more indoors after being free of all symptoms, we are finally safe and sound," he posted, along with an image with his wife.## The actor feels they were "lucky to only have mild symptoms of the COVID-19".## "We send our love and thoughts to all of the people where the virus has hit much harder, and to everyone who has lost their loved ones due to the coronavirus. Thank you for all of your support, and please remember to stay vigilant and keep your distance, wash your hands, and most of all; take care of each other in this strange time. The actress is auctioning off a virtual dinner with her in exchange for donations for coronavirus relief.## The actress is asking people around the world to donate money to SameYou, her charity that assists people recovering from brain injuries and strokes. The organization's new initiative aims to make beds for coronavirus patients and help people recover from brain injuries at home in order to free up more beds, reports variety.com.## Twelve donors will be randomly selected for a virtual dinner with Clarke.## "We'll cook it together and eat it together. And we will discuss lots of things -- isolation and fear and also funny videos. And, you know, the fact that I can't really cook. So it's going to be fun," Clarke said in an Instagram post.## The Mother of Dragons star is hoping to raise 250,000 pounds ($309,358) for the cause. The new initiative is in partnership with the Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital in Massachusetts and the University College London Hospital.## "We are creating a virtual rehabilitation clinic so brain injury survivors have somewhere to go and somewhere to feel safe and somewhere to not feel so alone and isolated, which I think is a good thing.
