'Godzilla x Kong' Sequel Gets Official Title and Release Date

Los Angeles, May 10 - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the official first look title of its next Monsterverse film, the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). ## Directed by Grant Sputore, the film has been titled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and it is currently in production. The movie will hit the big screen on March 26, 2027, the studio re-confirmed its previous release date announcement. ## Along with the title announcement, a short teaser was also released, which shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organisation that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. Tokyo, November 1 - A piece of good news for the Kaiju fans as the new Godzilla movie has officially been greenlit. It will be directed by Takashi Yamazaki, who helmed last year's Oscar-winning blockbuster Godzilla Minus One. ## Legendary Japanese studio Toho, creator of Godzilla and studio home of Akira Kurosawa, revealed that the filmmaker who famously wrote, directed and oversaw all of the VFX in Godzilla Minus One, is set to reprise all of those responsibilities on the new film.## In a video message, Yamazaki can be heard saying "Hello everyone, I have wonderful news. I'll be directing the new Godzilla movie. 'Godzilla vs. Kong' Sequel Is Officially In The Development To Begin Filming In Australia In Late 2022

Mumbai, March 21 - Legendary Entertainment's "Godzilla vs. Kong" is officially is in the development to begin the film in Australia later this year. The Queensland state government has confirmed the shooting development of the sequel. ## The yet-untitled sequel will be the third monster verse film to be filmed in Queensland state. According to Variety, the film is expected to film at Gold Coast and other locations in Southeast Queensland. Earlier, "Godzilla vs Kong" was filmed on the Gold Coast in 2019, and "Kong: Skull Island" was filmed in the state in 2016. ## "The Morrison Government continues to boost to the Queensland economy with another international blockbuster from the MonsterVerse franchise drawn to Australia, with $16 million in funding under the highly successful $540 million Location Incentive Program", according to a press release by a Queensland minster (via wegotthiscovered).## The Variety report said that the makers will receive A$16 million ($11.8 million), and an additional A$6.3 million ($4.66 million) of subsidy will come from the state screen agency Screen Queensland and its Production Attraction Strategy.## The production of the "Godzilla vs. Kong" sequel is expected to generate more than A$119 million ($88 million) into the Australian economy and will provide employment to over 500 local casts and crew and use more than 750 extras.## Meanwhile, "Godzilla vs. Kong", which was released in March 2021, was the first movie to reach $100 million domestically (North America) during the covid-19 pandemic and went on to score over $468 million globally. 'Godzilla And The Titans' Live-Action Series In Development

Los Angeles, Jan 21 (IANS) Network Apple has ordered a live-action Godzilla series from Legendary Television. ## According to Variety, the untitled series continues the story of the Legendary Monsterverse established in films like 'Kong: Skull Island' and 2014's 'Godzilla'. ## Following the battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family's journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organisation known as Monarch. ## Monarch is a secret government entity that has played a major role in the Monsterverse franchise, working to cover up the existence of and defend the world from creatures like Godzilla and the other Titans. ## Chris Black and Matt Fraction co-created the series with both executive producing. Black will also serve as showrunner. Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell of Safehouse Pictures will also executive produce along with Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita of Toho Co. Ltd. Toho is the owner of the Godzilla character and has licensed the rights to Legendary for the series. ## There have been four films in the rebooted Monsterverse to date: 'Godzilla' in 2014, 'Kong: Skull Island' in 2017, 'Godzilla: King of the Monsters' in 2019, and most recently 'Godzilla vs. Kong' in 2021. ## There is also a 'Skull Island' anime series currently in the works at Netflix. ##
