It was recently when one of the leading actresses of Bollywood Deepika Padukone roped in for Prabhas starrer upcoming untitled movie called as Prabhas 21. However, it was not easy for the makers to bring Deepika on board as she put up a "very strong resistance". But makers were keen to have her on board and they made her an offer she couldn't resist.## According to a report in a leading portal stated, "Apparently Deepika these days, asks for remuneration on a par with what the leading man of a film gets. She rightly feels she has earned herself a place of gender equality in her profession". ## The report suggests that despite not getting an equal fee to Prabhas (he is paid close to Rs. 50 crores), Deepika is being paid close to Rs. 20 crores which makes her the highest-paid actress in the history of Indian cinema. ## Interestingly, the role of the female protagonist in the Prabhas starrer was not "all that substantial" to begin with. It is now being modified according to Deepika Padukone's star status and remuneration. ## Talking about the movie, it will be a trilingual movie that will be directed by Nag Ashwin who also directed national award-winning Telugu movie Mahanati. In the latest ICC rankings, England's all-rounder Ben Stokes dethrones West Indies captain Jason Holder to become the number 1 all-rounder in Test cricket. Since the world cup final last year, Stokes has been in a different form and has played some of the remarkable knocks including the title-winning 84 against New Zealand in the final of the World Cup 2019 at the Lord's.## However, his knock in the final was just a glimpse of his sheer talent. In the 3rd Test of the Ashes Series 2019, his knock of 136* helped England win the test from nowhere. In fact, he added 76 runs with Jack Leach for the last wicket in which, Leach's contribution was just one run, talks a lot about his dominance on the Aussie bowlers.## And now, as the cricket resumes after a long break because of the COVID-19 pandemic, Stokes also back to his usual best. His all-round performance against West Indies in the second Test at Emirates Old Trafford, Manchester not only helped England to squire the series but also led him to the top of ICC's latest all-rounder' ranking. ## Stokes' all-round ability seems to have impressed former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan who feels Team India is lacking a player like Stokes who could perform anywhere and in any condition. One of the leading actors of Star Plus's show Ishqbaaz, Shrenu Parikh was recently diagnosed with the Coronavirus and was admitted to a hospital in Vadodara. However, the actress has now almost recovered and back home and is quarantining as a precautionary measure. ## Now, the 30-year-old opens up about her experience of dealing with the COVID-19. In an exclusive chat with ETimes, she shared that despite barely stepping out from her home for five months and taking all the precautions she got infected with this virus. In her road to recovery, Shrenu further stated the value of life and how she put up a brave face in front of her parents but couldn't hold back her tears while speaking to her Ishqbaaz girls. ## While talking about how she knew she got infected, She said that initially, she had a bit of cough that she assumed was normal viral. After a few days, she had a fever that made her a little worried. However, despite all the symptoms, she was in denial mode that she had this virus until she lost her sense of smell.## When she got the news of her came positive, she informed her parents and asked them not to panic. She also informed everyone who had come in contact with her to get themselves tested. Luckily, all of them tested negative including her parents and she thanked God for that because she was feeling guilty and responsible.## The actress shared that she spent 7 days in the hospital before getting discharged and asked for a strict quarantine at home for next 7 days. While speaking about the hospital staff, she stated that they are no less than God. They were taking care of her properly and were so nice and not being negative. Saluting their commendable efforts, Shrenu Parikh couldn’t be more grateful for them.## While pointing out at the value of life, Shrenu said that a lot of people hide about being covid positive only because of sheer stigma or their neighbors' badmouth. Indian Premier League 2020 which was scheduled to begin earlier this year in March, will now be played in the United Arab Emirates. Among the few options of holding this year's IPL, BCCI has selected UAE to host the tournament which was postponed earlier due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, BCCI will have to wait for the government's approval. ## "We have written to the government seeking permission to host the tournament in UAE. The dates have not been finalized as yet and will be decided at the (next) IPL GC, which will be held in the next seven or ten days", IPL chairman Brijesh Patel told to Cricbuzz, on Tuesday (July 21). ## After the International Cricket Council (ICC) postponed Men's T20 World Cup 2020 which was scheduled to hold in Australia in October-November yesterday on July 20, the doors were open for the IPL to take place. ## After asserting the COVID-19 situation, BCCI looked at several alternatives in a bid to host the tournament later in the year in India. Boards from several countries - Sri Lanka, New Zealand and UAE offered to host the tournament. Last month, the Emirates Cricket Board had offered to host the tournament in UAE, stating that they had the required infrastructure for it.## In all likelihood, UAE will end up hosting the tournament. However, Brijesh Patel didn't deny the possibility of hosting the tournament in India and hinted that options are open as of now. Ayushmann Khurrana starring Article 15 which is a crime drama film based on Article 15 of the Constitution of India will be screened in The 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival (SIFF) which is scheduled to begin this week from July 25 in Shanghai, China. Article 15 is the second Indian film after Section 375 which will be screened in one of the largest film festivals in East Asia. ## Article 15 will be screened on the dates of 25, 26 July, and 1, 2 August.## Another Indian Movie "Article 15" will be screened in 23rd Shanghai International Film Festival. On Monday (July 20), the International Cricket Council took an inevitable decision of postponing the upcoming Men's T20 World Cup which was scheduled to be held in Australia from 18 October 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic that brought cricket to its knees earlier this year. ## With the postponement of this year's Men's T2O World Cup, the next two ICC Men's Tournaments have been rescheduled. On Monday's meeting of the IBC Board (the commercial subsidiary of the ICC), windows for the next three ICC men's events were also agreed upon.## The windows for the next three Men's events are as follows:## ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2021 will be held in October-November 2021, with the final on November 14, 2021. ## ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022 will be held in October-November 2022, with the final on November 13, 2022. ## ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023 will be held in India in October-November 2023, with the final on November 26, 2023. ## "The IBC Board agreed to continue to monitor the rapidly changing situation and assess all the information available in order to make a considered decision on future hosts to ensure the sport is able to stage safe and successful global events in 2021 and 2022", the ICC stated in a release.## "The IBC Board will also continue to evaluate the situation in relation to being able to stage the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup 2021 in New Zealand in February next year. In the meantime, planning for this event continues as scheduled".## ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney said, "We have undertaken a comprehensive and complex contingency planning exercise and through this process, our number one priority has been to protect the health and safety of everyone involved in the sport.## "The decision to postpone the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup was taken after careful consideration of all of the options available to us and gives us the best possible opportunity of delivering two safe and successful T20 World Cups for fans around the world.## "Our members now have the clarity they need around event windows to enable them to reschedule lost bilateral and domestic cricket. Moving the Men’s Cricket World Cup to a later window is a critical element of this and gives us a better chance of maintaining the integrity of the qualification process. This additional time will be used to reschedule games that might be lost because of the pandemic ensuring qualification can be decided on the field of play.## "Throughout this process, we have worked closely with our key stakeholders including governments, Members, broadcasters, partners, and medical experts to enable us to reach a collective decision for the good of the game and our fans. The ongoing debate on nepotism and favoritism in the Bollywood industry which sparked after the demise of a 34-year old talented actor Sushant Singh Rajput is gaining momentum. While several actors have already put their views on this burning issue, the latest to join the debate is veteran actor Govinda. ## Speaking to Hindustan Times in his latest interview, Govinda opens up about his struggles in the industry and the movie mafia who dictate their terms about how the industry will function and more.## "Earlier whoever was talented, got work. Every film would get equal opportunities in theatres. But now, there are four or five people who dictate the whole business. They decide if they want to let films of those who aren’t close to them, release properly or not. Some of my good films also didn't get the right kind of release. But, things are changing now", Govinda said.## While nepotism is a well known aspect of the industry, there is another burning question which making noise is if star kids and industry insiders have easy access because of favoritism than people with no filmy connections? Govinda, who is the son of late actress Nirmala Devi and Arun Kumar Ahuja, says that it is not the case entirely in Bollywood.## Despite having the filmy background, Govinda recapitulate that he too had his share of struggle and wait for hours to meet filmmakers as the scenario had changed by the time he became an actor.## "There was a gap of 33 years between them (his parents) leaving the film industry and me becoming an actor at 21. So by the time I entered the industry, many new producers had come who didn't know much about my origination. I had to wait for hours to meet them. Had not COVID-19 pandemic, he might have finished some of them by now. Now, the makers are planning to slowly start working, the actor has his plan laid out. ## According to a report in news daily, Akshay Kumar will first work on the spy-thriller, Bell Bottom that will be directed by Ranjit M Tewari. Akshay and the team will shoot the film in Scotland for a month. They will also shoot a few scenes in India. According to the report, Akshay chose this film first as it doesn’t require scenes that need a lot of crowd or high-end action sequences. ## Later, he will resume work on Prithviraj Chauhan with YRF, which shoot was halted by the coronavirus pandemic. According to reports in the daily, the makers are in no hurry to finish it as it is a historical movie and requires a certain scale. So, Akshay plans to shoot it by October end. ## After Prithviraj Chauhan, the actor has Anand L Rai's Atrangi Re, co-starring Sara Ali Khan, and Dhanush. For this film, Akshay Kumar is required to shoot for two weeks. He will allot the dates once the shooting kickstarts.## After Atrangi Re, the 52-year old finally, will start work on Sajid Nadiadwala's Bachchan Pandey by December-January. "He has a team in place to ensure that all SOPs are strictly followed by everyone. Safety will be the priority on the set," said a source to the daily. ## Next year, Akshay Kumar to work with Ekta Kapoor for an action-comedy film which is a remake of a Telugu film. Later, he will collaborate with Maneesh Sharma for an untitled project.## As of now, his cop drama movie with the director Rohit Shetty is ready to hit the theaters on Diwali while his Laxmmi Bomb will directly release on Disney Plus Hotstar soon. ## Along with above all the projects, there are some strong rumors that Akshay Kumar might see in Yash Raj Film's (YRF) Dhoom 4 in which he will play the lead antagonist.
