Mumbai, September 23: Bollywood filmmakers may be facing criticism for going after remakes of regional movies, but their love affair with remakes seems unending. With over 30 South film remakes already in the various stages of production, Bollywood filmmakers are continuously adding more and more films to this list and proving the critics right that they lack originality and are widely dependent on remakes. ## Speaking about the latest soon-to-be remade in Hindi, Vijay Sethupathi and Trisha Krishnan's Tamil blockbuster "96" was recently confirmed to be remade in Hindi by "Attack" producer Ajay Kapoor and now, there are reports that Nani's one of the most loved Telugu movie "Gang Leader" is also ready for Bollywood makeover. ## According to Peepingmoon, producer Akshai Puri of 12th Street Entertainment has bought the rights to this 2019 Telugu comedy thriller directed by Vikram Kumar. He said to have got the remake rights just last week and will soon set up a team of writers to adapt the screenplay to suit it with Hindi audiences. ## Even before the reports of the Hindi remake of "Gang Leader" came out, this Nani starrer was in news recently after a rumored plot line of Shah Rukh Khan and Atlee's film emerged on social media. Speculations started doing rounds regarding the similarity between two films after a web portal claimed that "Atlee film will be a massive revenge action-entertainer that will have Shah Rukh Khan assembling a team of women, who wanted to seek revenge for their past, to rob something untouchable". ## While it's true that SRK-Atlee's much-anticipated Pan-India offering is a robbery drama, it has nothing to do with Nani's Gang Leader as the film's remake rights are with Akshai Puri. "Gang Leader" revolves around five women who seek the help of a budding crime novelist (played by Nani) to avenge the death of their loved ones. It also stars Priyanka Arul Mohan, Lakshmi, Saranya Ponvannan, Shriya Kontham, Praanya P. Rao, and Kartikeya Gummakonda. ## Stay tuned...

His "The Tashkent Files" which was about the death of former Indian prime minister Lal Bahadur Shastri, won critical acclaim. ## After the success of The Tashkent Files, the filmmaker continued the series and announced, "The Kashmir Files", which is yet to release. Mumbai, September 7, 2021: Kangana Ranaut starrer Thalaivi is all set to release in theaters this Friday, September 10. Thalaivi is a multilingual biographical drama film based on the life of J. Jayalalithaa, an actress and politician who served six times as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. ## Kangana, who plays Jayalalithaa in the movie, called this biopic the best film of her career so far and is confident that it will bring the audiences back to theaters. Kangana wrote in an Instagram story, "What a gratifying experience to watch Thalaivii, the best film of my career so far. Mumbai, August 3, 2021: The success of the recently released Malayalam political thriller film, Nayattu, is leading to multiple remakes. Nayattu received a lot of appreciation and accolades from viewers who praised the story, direction, and the cast's performances. ## The movie is now getting remakes in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil languages. Martin Prakkat, director of the original, has confirmed that the Hindi remake rights have been picked up by actor John Abraham, to be remade under his film company, JA Entertainment. ## The Telugu remake rights have reportedly been picked up by star Allu Arjun. His home production Geetha Arts acquired the remake rights. The production house is already in talks with a couple of directors for the film's remake in Telugu, for which, the official announcement will be made soon. ## The producers of the Tamil remake are yet to be known but Gautham Vasudev Menon has been confirmed to direct this super hit film. The national award-winning actor has reportadly signed his second Telugu movie with Tholi Prema director Venky Atluri. ## According to Deccan Chronicle, producer Suryadevara Nagavamsi has been planning to make a trilingual film for a long time and he has found this potential in Dhanush. Nagavamsi feels a trilingual film would do justice to the script, given Dhanush's popularity in the South and in Bollywood. ## It is said that Dhanush has agreed to work on the Atluri film. It will be Karnan actor's second back-to-back trilingual movie, to be made simultaneously in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, after Sekhar Kammula's film. Naandhi is a crime courtroom drama film, directed by Vijay Kanakamedala. It was released on 19 February this year. ## "Naandhi" follows the life of Surya Prakash (Allari Naresh), an under-trial prisoner who is falsely accused of murder, awaiting judgment. The movie received critical reception and was also a commercially blockbuster.
