Box Office: 'The Legend Of Maula Jatt' Becomes First Pakistani Movie To Hit PKR200 Crores Worldwide
Mumbai, November 21 - The blockbuster Pakistani Punjabi film The Legend of Maula Jatt is on the historic box office run, breaking records amid the political turmoil in the country. ## Directed by Bilal Lashari, TLOMJ has outstormed all the low expectations and becomes the first Pakistani movie ever to reach PKR 200 crores gross at the worldwide box office. It was also the first Pakistani movie to reach 100 crores globally but has managed to extend its run to the next level.## The action-drama film, starring Fawad Khan as the titular character, is already the highest-grossing Pakistani movie, both domestically and overseas. It has grossed approx. PKR 80 crores in Pakistan while the overseas collection is PKR 123 crores to date, for worldwide cume approx. 203 crores, according to local trade analysts.## "The Legend of Maula Jatt" is the adaption of the 1979 cult classic film "Maula Jatt", which was itself a huge blockbuster. Produced by Ammara Hikmat and Asad Jamil Khan under the production banner of Lashari Films and Encyclomedia, the movie tells about a local folk hero named Maula Jatt who takes on his archnemesis and the leader of a brutal clan, Noori Natt.## The movie also stars Hamza Ali Abbasi, Humaima Malik, and Mahira Khan in prominent roles.## Stay tuned...
