Bhuvneshwar Kumar Voted ICC Men's Player of The Month For March 2021

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Tuesday (April 13) announced the winners of the ICC Player of the Month Awards for March which recognize and celebrate the best performances from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year.## India's Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who returned to international cricket after more than a year, won the ICC Men's Player of the Month for March 2021, for his impressive performances in India's recently concluded series win against England. Ravichandran Ashwin Wins ICC Player Of The February Month Award

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the player of the February month award on Tuesday. Team India all-rounder, Ravichandran Ashwin named the male player of the month and becomes the second consecutive Indian to win the award. Earlier, wicketkeeper-batsman, Rishabh Pant had won the inaugural player of the month award for his heroic performance against Australia in Australia in January.## Ravichandran Ashwin put up an all-round show against England in the 4-match home Test series. He took 32 wickets in 4 matches in which, 24 wickets came in the month of February in 3 Tests. He also made a brilliant hundred in the second Test in Chennai and helped India to win the match by 317 runs. The wicketkeeper-batsman of team India, Rishabh Pant has been voted the inaugural winner of the ICC Men's Player of The Month award. Five Indian Players Nominated As ICC Announced 'ICC Player Of The Month'

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Wednesday (January 27), announced the introduction of the ICC Player of the Month awards which will recognize and celebrate the best performances of both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket throughout the year.## An independent ICC Voting Academy comprising former players, broadcasters, and journalists from around the world, will team up with fans to vote for the ICC Men's Player of the Month and ICC Women's Player of the Month.## Among the nominated players, 5 Indian players featured in the list who played a key role in India's back-to-back Test series win in Australia after the recently concluded 4-match Border-Gavaskar series. They are Mohammed Siraj, Washington Sundar, T. Natarajan, Rishabh Pant, and Ravichandran Ashwin along with other nominees, such as Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Afghanistan), Joe Root (England), Steve Smith (Australia), Marizanne Kapp (South Africa), Nadine de Klerk (South Africa), and Nida Dar (Pakistan).## "The ICC Player of the Month is a great way to connect with fans of the sport and celebrate performances of their favorite players through the year. It gives us all an opportunity to acknowledge world-class performances on the field by male and female cricketers and they have been in abundance throughout January", ICC General Manager – Cricket, Geoff Allardice said in a statement. ## The nomination and voting process:## The three nominees for each of the categories will be determined by the ICC Awards Nominations Committee based on on-field performances and overall achievements during the period of that month (the first to the last day of each calendar month.)## This shortlist is then voted for by the independent ICC Voting Academy and fans around the world. The ICC Voting Academy comprising prominent members of the cricket family including senior journalists, former players, and broadcasters.## The Voting Academy will submit their votes by email and will retain a 90% share of the vote. Subsequently, on the 1st day of each month, fans registered with the ICC will be able to submit votes via the ICC website and will have a 10% share of the vote. The International cricket council (ICC), on Monday (December 28), announced the ICC Awards of The Decade in different categories. Team India captain, Virat Kohli won the top honors and begged Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Male Cricketer of The Decade and also won ICC Male ODI Cricketer of The Decade. The International Cricket Council (ICC), on Sunday, announced the men's and women's team of the decade across all three formats. While the Men's teams dominated by the Indian and England players, Women's team in both ODI and T20I show the most presence of the Australian players. ## Among the Indian woman players, Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami featured in the ODI team. The ODI skipper of team India, Mithali Raj is the leading run-getter in the format with 6888 runs in 209 matches she played at an average of 50.64 with 7 hundred and 53 half-centuries. The International Cricket Council (ICC) on Tuesday, has nominated Indian captain Virat Kohli and Ravichandran Ashwin for the Men's Player of the Decade Award which will be announced soon. Apart from Virat and Ashwin, Joe Root, Kane Williamson, Steve Smith, AB de Villiers, and Kumar Sangakkara have also been nominated in this category. ## Virat Kohli is the only player who has been nominated in the all five categories announced by ICC. In the Men's ODI Player of the Decade category, former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni and run-machine Rohit Sharma also found a place alongside Kohli, Lasith Malinga, Mitchell Starc, AB de Villiers, and Sangakkara.## For the Test cricketer of the decade awards, Kohli got nomination along with 6 others including Steve Smith, and Kane Williamson. Kohli with Rohit also featured in the Men's T20I Player of the Decade category, which also included Rashid Khan, Imran Tahir, Aaron Finch, Malinga, and Chris Gayle.## Kohli, who averages more than 50 in all formats, has already amassed 70 international hundreds and is only behind Ricky Ponting (71) and Sachin Tendulkar (100). ICC Awards 2018 : Virat Kohli Wins Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy For Second Consecutive Year

Indian team captain Virat Kohli becomes the first ever player to win the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year, the ICC Men's Test Player of the Year and the ICC ODI Player of the Year trophy in a single year for his brilliant performance in 2018 where he scored 2735 runs in all three formats.## This is the second time in a row when Virat Kohli has won Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Cricketer of the Year and the first time he's won ICC Test cricketer of the year. Along with the awards, Virat Kohli named the captain of the ICC's Test and ODI Team of 2018. Under his captaincy, India won Test series in Australia for the first time and also the ODI series as well.## "It feels amazing. It's a reward for all the hard work that you do throughout the calendar year. I feel really grateful and very, very happy with the team doing well at the same time myself performing.
