Tokyo, November 21 - Aamir Khan's production Laapataa Ladies, which is also India's official Oscar 2025 entry, has beaten the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan's Pathaan and Prabhas-fronted Salaar: Ceasefire at the Japanese box office. ## Directed by Kiran Rao, the rural comedy-drama has minted over ¥50 million (2.75+ crore gross) in 45 days so far. Pathaan had grossed approximately 50 million yen while Salaar: Ceasefire earned approximately 46 million yen. Both the films were 2 of the biggest Indian grossers of 2023. ## The total worldwide collection of Laapataa Ladies is approximately 31 crores gross, including 25 crores gross at the Indian box office. The movie was a decent success in India. It is expected to have a good run at the Japanese box office. ## As said, Laapata Ladies is the 14th highest-grossing Indian movie in Japan. In the long run, it might beat Baahubali (¥75 million) and Bajrangi Bhaijaan (¥80 million). 'Godzilla Minus One' Sets New Box Office Record Worldwide

Mumbai, December 31 - Japanese epic kaiju film Godzilla Minus One has been a sensational box office blockbuster worldwide. Produced by Toho Studios and Robot Communications, it is the 37th film in the long-running Godzilla franchise, Toho's 33rd Godzilla film, and the fifth film in the franchise's Reiwa era. ## The film made its domestic (Japan) debut on November 3rd, and in no time, it became a sensational word-of-mouth global hit. Made on a budget of under just $15 million, "Godzilla Minus One" has now overtaken the lifetime global haul of its predecessor, 2016's "Shin Godzilla", to become the highest-grossing Japanese Godzilla movie.## The live-action monster film has so far grossed approximately $80 million worldwide, beating "Shin Godzilla's" $77.9 million haul. Directed by Sukumar, the movie was released in Japan on July 14, more than 5 years after its original release in 2018.## "Rangasthalam" has taken a decent start in Japan with ¥10.1 million or approx. 60 lakh in the 3-day opening weekend before ending the full week with ¥16.4 million or 95 lakh. In the second weekend, the movie scored ¥4.4 million (25 lakh) and took the total collection to ¥20.80 million (1.20 crores) so far.## Interestingly, Ram Charan's last release "RRR", which also stars Jr. NTR and is directed by Rajamouli, scored ¥18 million on its opening day in Japan last year and went on to finish over a historic ¥2 billion (approx. 125 crores) and is the highest-grossing Indian movie there.## Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, "Rangasthalam" was an industry hit during its release in 2018 in Telugu. The opening weekend collection of the movie failed to beat the opening day numbers of Ram Charan and Jr. NTR's "RRR" which grossed ¥18 million in October last year.## "Rangasthalam" was released around 70 screens in Japan and grossed 2.5 million yen on its opening day.
