RR - 5 Players To Watch Out For In IPL 2019

A dream starts to their Indian Premier League who had unknown faces, Rajasthan Royals surprised everybody with the title triumph in the inaugural season. But the fact is it remained the only diamond to their crown. Barring a third-place finish in the 2013 season, Rajasthan Royals have never looked to stick to their winning formula that once was their surprised weapon.## Just like the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals to have seen dark days when they were banned for two years. But once they back in 2018, a grand return was expected but unlike CSK, they flattered to deceive again. However, RR made it to the playoffs but the absence of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes did cost them who were the main players to take RR to top four.## Will 2019 be the start of a new chapter for them? Certainly can be. They should take confidence from how they played in the latter part of the tournament in last year and the also the inclusion of Steve Smith who once was their best batsman will be enough to boost their confidence. But we understand that there are five players who will hold the key for Rajasthan Royals.## Here is the list of 5 players to watch out for in IPL 2019 (RR):## 1. Steve Smith (Batsman) - Steve Smith has seen the possibly worst days of a sportsman when he was banned for the one year by Cricket Australia from all the cricket activities after found his involvement in ball-tampering at Newlands against South Africa last year along with David Warner and Camron Bancroft. But now he has returned and will be more hungry to perform at the big stage. It is going to be important not only for RR but Smith as well who will likely be the part of Australia's world cup squad starting later this year. He is surely going to a player to watch out for this season.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 - - - - - - - Overall 69 62 1,703 101 1 5 131.71 ## 2. Rahul Tripathi (Batsman) - Rahul Tripathi was one of the best batsmen for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017. A classy batsman who can hit the ball hard with ease, Rahul Tripathi is hopeful to play the big role for RR this season. However, barring one or two knocks, he couldn't make his mark last year but the flexibility of him playing at any position makes him a player to watch out for this year IPL.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 12 12 226 80* 0 1 135.32 Overall 26 26 617 93 0 3 142.17 ## 3. Jofra Archer (All-Rounder) - A fiery pacer who can take the bull by the horns with the bat, Jofra Archer is a typical West Indies' all-rounder. Though it is a loss for Windies that he will not represent his own country. The world saw him first in the Big Bash League playing for the Hobart Hurricanes and one is the find of BBL. He made his IPL debut last year and was impressed with the ball. Royals made a mistake by not playing him in the first few matches. But a team is as good as he learns from its mistake, Archer can be the trump card for his side.## A statical view of his IPL career (Batting)## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 10 8 15 8 0 0 71.43 ## Bowling## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 10 10 15 3/22 0 8.37 ## 4. Gowtham's Mini Blitz Breaks Mumbai Indians' Heart

Rajasthan Royals back to winning streak as they beat Mumbai Indians by three wickets at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Sunday (April 22). Debutant Jofra Archer (3 for 22), Sanju Samson (52 off 39), and Stokes (40 off 29)led the platform of RR win but it was Karishanppa Gowtham, whose blitzing 11-ball 33* helped Royals to get their third win of the tournament.## What twist came into play ##After 14 overs, Royals were in comfortable position as they lost only two wickets on 110. With 58 runs needed in 6 overs, Royals thought they were favorites to win.##But then twist came into play. Mumbai Indians pulled things back by getting wickets of Stokes, Samson, Buttler, and Klaasen in space of 15 runs. Inspired by Hardik Pandya, who ended Stokes fireworks with a yorker fired on the leg stump. Then it was ever reliable Jasprit Bumrah, who grabbed two back to back wickets of Samson and Buttler in 17th over. With 43 runs needed in 3 overs, MI had momentum but Gowtham had some other plans. He hit Mustafizur for a six to long on and a four and collect 15 runs in 18th over. But the 19th over of Bumrah's proved to be the turning point of the match in which Gowtham and Archer collect runs by hitting two fours and a six. It was a tough task in front of Hardik, who had to defend 10 runs in last over. He had begun the over on a high note as he got Archer on the first ball. But good thing was, Gowtham had the strike and he sent next ball to for a four to the third man. Now 6 needed off 4 balls but he avoided single on next ball to send the fourth ball for a six over long on. Royals won the match with two balls to spare.## What went wrong for Mumbai Indians? ##For the first 14 overs of the MI innings, it was all Mumbai Indians.##After winning the toss, Rohit Sharma opted to bat first. However, MI lost Evin Lewis in first over as Dhawal Kulkarni's inswinger got Lewis out. But after that, it was all about Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav. The duo played their shots all-around the part and put up the 129-run stand for the second wicket. In this process, both the players completed their half centuries. At 129 for 1, MI were looking good to set a big total. In this process, Ishan Kishan lost his concentration and caught out by Jos Buttler while trying to hit big, he made 58 off 42 balls (4 fours & 3 sixes). In next over Unadkat got Suryakumar Yadav out, he scored 72 off 47 balls (6 fours & 3 sixes) and was the top scorer for MI. That was the time where MI lost momentum as they lost Rohit Sharma and Pandya brothers in space of 19 balls. Jofra Archer grabbed 3 wickets in 19th over and restricted MI to 167 for 7 in 20 overs.## How good was Archer on debut ##Outstanding, Archer came in limelight after his performance in the Big Base league where he picked 17 wickets in 13 matches. He carried his BBL form into IPL and picked 3 wickets on his debut. His ability to hit the deck hard and deceive batsmen by slower balls makes him different.
