'John Wick 5' Officially Confirmed With Star Keanu Reeves and Director Chad Stahelski Set To Return

Los Angeles, April 2 - John Wick is set to return for at least one more time as Lionsgate has officially confirmed the fifth installment of this action thriller franchise at the CinemaCon event 2025. ## Taking to the CinemaCon stage on Tuesday morning, Lionsgate announced John Wick 5 with star Keanu Reeves set to return as the nunchuck-wielding hitman along with director Chad Stahelski. The story for the movie has been finalized. ## Meanwhile, the action franchise is expanding with an animated prequel film and a Caine-centric standalone adventure from director-star Donnie Yen. Additionally, there is the spin-off, Ballerina starring Ana de Armas slated to hit the screens on June 6. ## The fourth instalment, John Wick: Chapter 4 of this decade-long franchise, was released in 2023 and grossed over $440 million at the worldwide box office, becoming the highest-grossing movie of the series. Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment's 'Kill' To Be Remade In Hollywood By 'John Wick' Director

Mumbai, July 2 - Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment's A-rated action thriller Kill, which is scheduled to be released theatrically on July 5, is set to be remade in Hollywood by the John Wick director Chad Stahelski who will produce the movie for Lionsgate. ## Kill has been rated 'A' by CBFC for extreme violence and it is billed as the Indian version of the John Wick franchise. Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, the movie stars Lakshya, Raghav Juyal, Ashish Vidyarthi, Harsh Chhaya, and Tanya Maniktala in key roles. ## "Kill is one of the most vivid, wild, and creative action movies I've seen recently. Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. It's exciting to be developing an English-language version — we have big shoes to fill and I'm looking forward to working with Nikhil, Karan, Apoorva, Guneet, and Achin to achieve that", Stahelski said in a statement (via Variety).## In a rare instance, the makers of Kill have partnered with any major Hollywood studio to release the movie in North America and the U.K. with Lionsgate and Roadside Attractions coming on board to distribute the movie there. ## In the film, when army commando Amrit (Lakshya) finds out his true love Tulika (Tanya Maniktala) is engaged against her will, he boards a New Delhi-bound train in a daring quest to derail the arranged marriage. John Wick Spin-Off 'Ballerina' Release Date Postponed By A Year

Los Angeles, February 22 - John Wick's spin-off film Ballerina starring Ana de Armas has been postponed by almost a year. The action thriller is the first spin-off movie and the fifth instalment overall in the John Wick franchise. ## According to Deadline, Ballerina, which was supposed to be released in June 2024, will now be hitting theatres on June 6, 2025. The move comes as John Wick architect Chad Stahelski has inked a new deal with Lionsgate to oversee the franchise. ## Stahelski is said to be working with Ballerina director Len Wiseman on additional action sequences for the movie, to amp it up even more than it is. Additionally, Lionsgate is giving enough time as the studio just wants to make the movie even better. ## Taking place between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Chapter 4, ballerina-assassin Rooney hunts the murderers of her family. The Fifth Installment of The Keanu Reeves-Fronted 'John Wick' Franchise Is In The Early Development

Los Angeles, May 27 - The 4-films John Wick recently crossed the milestone of $1 billion at the global box office after the recording-breaking performance of "John Wick: Chapter 4" which has so far grossed over $425 million worldwide. ## Now, as "John Wick 4" is nearing its run at the box office, Lionsgate has already started working on its fifth installment with Keanu Reeves returning to reprise his role as Baba Yaga aka John Wick, a professional hitman and assassin. ## During a Q4 earnings call on Thursday, Lionsgate's motion picture group chair Joe Drake presented the plans of the studio for the "John Wick" franchise and teased the 5th installment of the action thriller series. ## "What is official is that, as you know, Ballerina is the first spinoff that comes out next year. We're in development on three others, including five and including the television series, The Continental, which will be airing soon", Joe Drake said, according to The Hollywood Reporter.## "We're building out the world and when that five movies comes, it will be organic — will be organically grown out of how we're starting to tell those stories. Los Angeles, May 20 - Lionsgate Films' action thriller franchise John Wick has crossed the $1 billion mark at the global box office through the 4 films released so far in the series. ## John Wick is one of the most profitable action film franchises of all time. The combined budget of the 4 films in the series is around $230 million while the total gross collection now stands at $1.01 billion, including $425 million for the 4th installment. ## The first film in the series, "John Wick" was released in 2014 and grossed $87.08 million at the global box office against a budget of around $20 million. The domestic and overseas grosses of the film were almost similar at $43 million and $44.08 million, respectively. ## The sequel to "John Wick" debuted in 2017 and cost around $40 million to bring to the big screen. The movie topped the grosses of the first film by more than double margin and scored $171.50 million worldwide, including $92 million domestically and $79.50 million overseas. ## The trade of topping the collection of its predecessor continued with "John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum" (2019) which breached the $200 million as well as $300 million mark for the franchise globally. Los Angeles, April 10 - The Keanu Reeves-fronted 4th Chapter of the John Wick franchise has continued its assault at the box office and crossed the $300 million mark globally. It is all set to become the highest-grossing film in the franchise by crossing John Wick 3. ## The spy action thriller film grossed $307 million through 3rd Sunday, including $147 million at the domestic (North America) box office. Despite having not much pre-release buzz and poor outcomes of the first three films in the franchise, John Wick: Chapter 4 has been able to attract Indian moviegoers in a big way. ## Directed by Chad Stahelski, the latest flick in this neo-noir action thriller series opened to a fantastic 8.75 crores net, including Thursday previews, in India for all languages. It was the biggest opening for the John Wick franchise as well as more than 50% of the total net collection of the first three films. ## With the help of a super solid audience WOM, "John Wick 4" sees a jump of more than 50% on Saturday for approx. 9 crores net, pushing total net collection to approx. 17.50 crores.
