My Father Always Used To Tell Me You Should Remain Not Out In The Game: Mandeep Singh

Mandeep Singh has been going through a roller coaster of emotions in the past week, with the sad demise of his father a couple of days back. However, despite that personal tragedy and with heavy heart, the 28-year old talented cricketer from Punjab choose to stay with the franchise, Kings XI Punjab and help them to advance in the Indian Premier League 2020. ## Unfazed by the things happening around his personal life, Mandeep has braved himself to perform for KXIP on it, scoring a match-winning unbeaten 66 against Kolkata Knight Riders on Monday, October 26 at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium. His knock came at a crucial stage of the tournament in which, KXIP is well and truly alive to qualify for the playoffs. ## "This was very special. My father always used to tell me to remain not out in every game, definitely special", said Mandeep Singh in a post-match interview and dedicated his half-century to his late father. "He always used to tell me, whether you score 100 or 200, you should be not out", he added. ## "I had a talk with Rahul before the start of the game. Last game I was trying to score quicker and I wasn't comfortable doing that. I told Rahul if I play my normal game, I will win the game and I had the belief", revealed Mandeep on that chase. ## "He (Rahul) told me to back my game and play the way I want to play, pretty happy with the win. He (Gayle) was just telling me to keep batting and play till the end and I just told him that he should never retire. He is too good. We are very excited", Mandeep added. ## Mandy paaji looks up, a tribute to his father 🙌WHAT. A. 'Madness, What A Tournament': Twitter Goes Berserk As KXIP Clinch Victory Over MI In Super Over

For the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League, a game had to be decided by two Super Overs as Mohammed Shami put up a sensational display of pace bowling to outclass Jasprit Bumrah's yorker spree to defend five in the first of the one-over shootouts. Chris Jordan then conceded 11 in the second Super Over before Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal chased the target down off four Trent Boult deliveries. ## And given that even the first game of the double-header Sunday was also tied in regular time before Kolkata Knight Riders won the super over against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Twitter went into a frenzy witnessing a thrilling finish of the Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab match. ## See reactions - ## Was the World Cup final of 2019 a beter game or #mivskxip ? We Are A Far Better Team Than Where We Are On The Points Table: KL Rahul

Kings XI Punjab got back to winning ways after defeating Royal Challengers Bangalore on Thursday in a contest that went right into the wire. Kings XI Punjab, however, was almost on verge of repeating their previous games' mistakes in which the team couldn't cross the line despite putting themselves in a comfortable position. ## The thrilling 8-wickets win over RCB gave KXIP 2 valuable points but remains at the bottom of the points table with just 4 points in 8 matches. However, skipper KL Rahul, being totally dismissive of the league table, said that they are a better side than what the points table is showing. ## "We are a far better team than where we are on the points table, we have played some really, really good cricket", said KL Rahul in the post-match interview. ## "It is human to feel disappointed and frustrated with the past games, nobody wants to lose especially when you are doing a lot of things right, our skills have been very good, probably just didn’t capitalize on the moments" he added. ## "It started with the first game against Delhi, so as they say- it becomes a habit either winning or not winning, it has all been a great learning. It is part of the IPL, part of cricket wherever we play we know there are going to be ups and downs, but on a positive note, we really wanted this win to get some confidence in the group to go out and play our cricket with a lot more freedom from the next game", the skipper continued. ## Kings XI Punjab's both the win has come against RCB in the IPL 2020. While the first win was proved to be a walk in the park, they had to fight till the last ball to get the second one. Punjab will be next against the table topper Mumbai Indians on October 18. With just 6 games to go, it is almost a must-win situation for Punjab in all the games. ## Stay tuned...

Virendra Sehwag Criticizes Umpiring After KXIP Lost To Delhi Capitals In Super Over

On the second day on the row of Dream 11 IPL 2020, the match went to the wire with Delhi Capitals defeated Kings XI Punjab in a super over. For Delhi Capitals, Marcus Stoinis showed his brilliance with both bat and ball and awarded man of the match. He scored a quickfire 53 off 21 balls and took 2 wickets to take the game into the super over. ## However, former team India opener, Virendra Sehwag has questioned the match result while criticizing the umpire's decision in the short run. Actually, Mayank Agarwal took 2 runs off the third ball of the 18th over. One of them was called short by the umpire. Only one run was added to this ball, however, the replay showed that it was a complete run. ## Taking to Twitter, Sehwag wrote, "I don’t agree with the man of the match choice. The umpire who gave this short run should have been man of the match. Short Run nahin tha. And that was the difference. #DCvKXIP".## I don’t agree with the man of the match choice . And that was the difference. #DCvKXIP pic.twitter.com/7u7KKJXCLb— Virender Sehwag (@virendersehwag) September 20, 2020 ## Due to that short run, KXIP's team could score 157 runs in response to 157 runs. If the second run was not declared short, then the Punjab team would have scored 158 runs. Then there is no need to go to the Super over for the match result and the Punjab team would have been the winner.## Stay tuned...

Ashwin did a good job as a captain - KL Rahul

Kings XI Punjab had an odd-even season of Indian premier league. They started the season with a bang and won 5 out of first 7 matches. But the later half of the season didn't go in their way as they could manage to win only 1 out of next 7 matches. And resulted in they failed to make it to the playoffs.## Lack of consistency and too much dependency on KL Rahul and Chris Gayle also hurt KXIP. Apart from this, many questions were raised on Ashwin's captaincy that he did allow too many changes in playing XI which was not required at that point. However, KL Rahul think completely opposite this.## "Obviously, it was a bit up and down because of the results but, we had a good time together. The first half was obviously a great way to start the tournament. And unfortunate for us and the captain that the second half did not go our way. But, yeah it was a great learning and I am sure it was a great experience for him (Ashwin) as a captain," Rahul told kxip.in.## "Handling a young team is never easy, but, I think he did a great job. He's given a lot of feedback to the players, what he thinks about where they can improve so these boys will definitely come back stronger, and his leadership would have helped a lot of players, a lot of bowlers, especially," the dashing opener said.## KL Rahul was among the top run-getters in this IPL. With 659 runs in 14 matches in an impressive average of 54.91, was also the top scorer for the KXIP. He scored fastest fifty of this season (14-balls) against Delhi Daredevils and rated it his favourite moment of this IPL.## "I think it's the first game when I got a 14-ball 50. It was absolutely unbelievable! I completely outdid myself there.## "I still am amazed that I got the fastest fifty in the IPL ever and it kind of set the tone for the reason of the season as well. I am grateful for a lot of things this season. I have made great friends along the way, great memories, there has been a lot of learning," he said.## It was a shame that KXIP couldn't qualify for the playoffs despite they were on the top of the points table in first half. Also, it was the first instance when the purple cap holder team (Andrew Tye- 24 wickets) couldn't make it to the playoffs.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

We haven't applied ourselves in terms of getting results - Ashwin

Kings XI Punjab has been knocked out from the IPL in 2018 after they lost to Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets. It was not only a must-win game for KXIP but also they needed to win it by 53 plus runs to qualify for the playoffs. However, it became even more difficult after they restricted to below par score of 153 after putting to bat first.## Chennai Super Kings chased down the target in 19.1 over after Suresh Raina's match-winning knock of 61* off 48 balls.## It was hard to understand that KXIP could not qualify for the playoffs as they were on top after the first half of the season where they won 5 out of 7 matches they played. But it was their middle order failure which let them down badly. Skipper Ravichandran Ashwin also thinks that their middle order did not play well at all which was expected.## "Rahul and Gayle were making most of the runs but the middle order did not click at all which was expected, which hurt us in the latter half of the tournament. Ankit did very well and of course, KL was amazing. We have Purple Cap holder in Tye as well. So loads of positive but we have not applied ourselves. We have not commanded any respect at all in terms of getting a result on our own terms," said Ashwin in the post-match presentation.## However, Ashwin thinks that their loss against Royal Challengers Bangalore cost them a lot where they lost by 10-wickets.## "The game against RCB cost a lot. Not only in terms of the run-rate but especially in terms of moral. We were not really there in terms of performance on such a day. But CSK were better today. A good team culture will help us win tournaments in future. So would like to build that culture slowly in this new look franchise and we will look to do much better next time,".## KXIP's loss takes Rajasthan Royals through playoffs where they were waiting for this match to be in their favour. Now they will join SRH, CSK and KKR in playoffs.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.
