Mumbai, 7th Feb 2022: Judwaa starring Indian Megastar Salman Khan was released 25 years ago on this day. It was an eid holiday weekend and it emerged as a big hit all across the country. There were big strikes just days before the release of this movie nationwide because of the Entertainment Tax issue. But this didn't go on to impact the performance of the film in theatres. ## It emerged as a path breaker in the comedy genre which set the tone for future comedy movies. It features Karishma Kapoor, Rambha alongside Salman khan as the leads. The supporting cast consisted of veteran actors Kader Khan and Anupam Kher. The movie faced a clash in the form of Nana Patekar starer Yashwant but it didn't impact Judwaa much. Both movies became successful, but Judwaa became more. ## Judwaa after successfully overcoming the clash played a major role in consolidating the fan base of Salman Khan in the rural areas. The film received an excellent opening and did business of 13 Cr Nett with footfalls of 1.36 Cr. ## Judwaa was the Tenth highest-grossing movie of Bollywood in that year (1997). The remake of Govinda and Karishma Kapoor's blockbuster movie from 1995 of the same name is already creating a lot of buzz because of the songs of which, a few of the songs are recreated from the original movie. ## After Husnn Hai Suhaana, the latest song, Tujhe Mirchi Lagi, from the movie released today on Monday and is already trending on social media. The trailer of Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan's Coolie No 1 has been unleashed as it is all set to be premiered on Amazon Prime Video on Christmas, 25 December 2020. The movie will mark the return of the director-producer duo, David Dhawan and Vasu Bhagnani who united in the original Coolie No 1 in 1995 for the first time. ## During the trailer launch event, the crew of Coolie No 1 comprising the leading actors, Varun and Sara along with Paresh Rawal interacted with media and fans from Chandigarh via video streaming and was also joined by director David Dhawan along with producer Vasu and his son Jacky Bhagnani from their respective places. ## Varun Dhawan, while saying that the original Coolie No 1 has been one of his favorite films directed by his father, David Dhawan, the latest version of it isn't an exact remake of 1995's blockbuster leading Govinda and Karishma Kapoor as it is just an adaption of it. The over-the-top (OTT) platform, Amazon Prime Video has announced 9 Indian films including three much anticipated Hindi movies, which the streaming platform will release in the upcoming months. Coolie No 1 (Hindi) - 25th December - Coolie No. 1 is a family comedy based on the popular franchise from Pooja Entertainment and is directed by David Dhawan who also helmed the original Coolie No 1 starring Govinda and Karishma Kapoor.
