Margot Robbie's 'Barbie' Creates A New Letterboxd Record
Los Angeles, July 30 - Margot Robbie-led fantasy comedy film "Barbie" is putting up a show at the box office and crossed the $700 million mark worldwide on its second Saturday. The movie is fast heading toward the $1 billion box office mark, which will make it the first movie of the year to do so. ## While the movie is breaking records at the box office, the Greta Gerwig's directorial has also set a new record on Letterboxd, an online social networking app focused on sharing opinions about and love of film. "Barbie" has become the fastest film to join the Letterboxd One Million Watched Club — 11 days since its theatrical release. It means, over 1 million Letterboxd members have watched the movie in a record time.## Christopher Nolan's Oscar-winning sci-fi action film "Inception" was the first movie to be watched by 1 million Letterboxd members, and it took 3391 days since its theatrical release in July 2010. Letterboxd was launched in 2011 which is why it took so long to get there. Oscar-winning South Korean movie "Parasite" is the first movie to be watched by 2 million members and it took 1244 days for the same.## Talking about "Barbie", it is the first live-action Barbie film after numerous computer-animated direct-to-video and streaming television films. The film follows Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) on a journey of self-discovery following an existential crisis.
