'Godzilla x Kong' Sequel Gets Official Title and Release Date

Los Angeles, May 10 - Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures have announced the official first look title of its next Monsterverse film, the sequel to Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024). ## Directed by Grant Sputore, the film has been titled as Godzilla x Kong: Supernova, and it is currently in production. The movie will hit the big screen on March 26, 2027, the studio re-confirmed its previous release date announcement. ## Along with the title announcement, a short teaser was also released, which shows an office for Monarch, the shadowy organisation that tracks the gigantic, city-destroying monsters called Titans, where a computer gives a real-life hotline that fans can call to receive an automated message. Your help reporting Titan sightings plays a critical role in keeping our world safe", the call says.## Supernova is the sixth film in the Monsterverse franchise, also serving as the 39th film of the Godzilla franchise and 14th in the King Kong franchise. A Live Action Disney Plus Series About 'King Kong' Is In Development

Los Angeles, August 24 - Disney Plus reportedly has set a live-action series about the origin of "King Kong". ## According to Variety, the series would be based on the original "King Kong" written by Merian C. Cooper as well as new novelizations by artist Joe DeVito produced in conjunction with Cooper's estate. It would be a serialized drama that would explore Kong's origins as well as the mysteries of his home, Skull Island. ## Variety further reports that Stephany Folsom, who developed the Amazon series "Paper Girls" for television, will write and executive produce the King Kong show with James Wan, Michael Clear, and Rob Hackett will also executive produce on behalf of Atomic Monster along with Dannie Festa for World Builder Entertainment.## The original "King Kong" film was released in 1933 and became an instant hit. The character has been used in numerous films to date, most recently in the Legendary-Warner Bros. "Godzilla vs. Kong". Netflix also has the "Skull Island" anime series on the way.## This marks the second live-action show about iconic movie monsters. Apple is currently prepping a series about Godzilla and the Titans, with Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell recently announced as stars.
