Durgamati Review: Audience Call Bhumi Pednekar Starrer Disappointing

The much-awaited horror thriller film, Durgamati: The Myth starring Bhumi Pednekar finally premiered on Amazon Prime Video on December 11. The movie is directed by G. Ashok and is an official remake of his own Telugu-Tamil bilingual film Bhaagamathie which starred Anushka Shetty in the lead role. ## While the expectations were high from Durgamati (earlier titled Durgavati), the Hindi remake of Bhaagamathie couldn't reprise the magic which the original film had. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Akshay Kumar, and Vikram Malhotra, Durgamati has been disappointing largely because it failed to scare people which is its joner. Glad To Collaborate With Akshay Sir Again After Three Years For Durgamati: Bhumi Pednekar

Actress Bhumi Pednekar is excited about her upcoming horror-thriller movie, Durgamati: The Myth that is scheduled to release directly on Amazon Prime Video on December 11. The movie is co-produced by Akshay Kumar and Bhumi Pednekar says she is glad to collaborate with him again after Toilet: Ek Prem Katha. The trailer of the film was unveiled on Wednesday (November 25). ## "I'm super excited about my upcoming film 'Durgamati' and it is an honor to play the lead in this conspiracy thriller. Being an ardent fan of spine-chilling thrillers myself, I was delighted to be a part of such a gripping story. Payal Ghosh Clarifies Why She Named Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill, Richa Chadha In MeToo Charge Against Anurag Kashyap

Actress Payal Ghosh has been facing a lot of criticism within the film industry for naming Huma Qureshi, Mahie Gill, and Richa Chadha in the MeToo allegations against the filmmaker Anurag Kashyap. However, the actress has now clarified that her intention was not to defame anyone. ## Speaking to IANS, Payal Ghosh explained that she said only what, Anurag Kashyap told her when he tried to sexually harass her in 2014. ## "I have said what Anurag said to me, whether it was a good thing or bad. I have also shared the good stuff like when he said he is a big fan of Amitji (Amitabh Bachchan), and now he talks to him for work. This is a very big achievement, and it inspires me as well", Payal told IANS.## "He also told me that he is in constant touch with filmmaker Karan Johar. I have also shared the good things he told me about other people. It is not like I am sharing only the negative", she added.## Late last week, Payal claimed that Anurag tried to molest her in 2014. She said that in order to convince her, Anurag said that "all the actresses he has worked with are just a call away". Now she said that the filmmaker does not respect women and only pretends himself as a flagbearer of women empowerment. ## "He acts like a flagbearer of women empowerment, women liberation, and feminism. What kind of a person he is when he says such things about his actress friends after meeting me for just two days? Does he respect women like this?", she added. ## "I didn't take their names. Unke saath mera lena dena nahi hai (I have nothing to do with them). I don't even know them, why would I take their name? I shared what Anurag said to me as it is, to let people know what kind of a person he is. That is the whole point of me talking about it", she explained.## While talking about the actresses she named, Payal claims she didn't take their names to defame them as she doesn't even know them.## "It is a possibility that Anurag lied to me to convince me, or he might be saying the truth. I don't know. I am not even saying that, I am just mentioning what he said to me, not that they did it or didn't do it. I don't have any personal grudge against them, I don't know them or have met them, so why would I say anything against them?", she stated.## Richa Chadda and Huma Qureshi have decided to take legal action against Payal Ghosh for defaming their reputation. Mumbai, March 2 (IANS) Bollywood actress Mahie Gill shot to fame playing the modern-day Paro in Anurag Kashyap's new-age "Devdas" adaptation of 2009. She says she wishes to work with the filmmaker again but is too introverted to convey her interest to him. ## "If I analyze it you might just find it weird. I am an introverted person who does not do much PR exercise to maintain visibility, at a time when people are doing more PR than actual work. At the same time I am passionate about work. This is a weird combination that I have as an actor. No matter what films and projects I get, I have earned my fame from the film 'Dev D'. I admire Anurag Kashyap as a filmmaker and wish to collaborate in the future. But I do not know how to tell him that. There are several other filmmakers like Rajkumar Hirani, Imtiaz Ali, Vishal Bharadwaj, Anurag Basu and so many of them I wish to work with," Mahie told IANS. ## "I feel if I call them to say, 'give me work, I want to collaborate with you', I would be bothering them. I am socially awkward and that is why I only get work in an organic manner," said the actress who plays a crucial character in her latest release "Doordarshan". ## Mahie has impressed with roles in films such as "Saheb, Biwi Aur Gangster", "Gulaal", "Paan Singh Tomar" and web series such as "Apharan: Sabka Katega" and "Posham Pa". Asked to choose one character of hers that has created an impact in her mind, she replied: "Usually, I am a happy-go-lucky person and really do not get a hangover of my characters once shooting is over. But so far, there have been a few roles that emotionally took a toll. One of them was 'Posham Pa', where a mother is a serial killer, and that is her profession!
