Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days. Mohanlal's 'Malaikottai Vaaliban' Set To Open Big At The Box Office

Kochi, January 23 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal must be on cloud nine after scoring a big blockbuster success at the box office in the form of courtroom drama "Neru". Superstar Mohanlal's Ambitious 'Malaikottai Vaaliban' To Be A Two-Part Release: Report

Kochi, January 17 - Malayalam superstar Mohanlal is basking on the big blockbuster success of his courtroom drama film "Neru", and now in little over one month, the actor is gearing up for his next theatrical release in the form of Malaikottai Vaaliban, scheduled for January 25. ## The period action drama, directed by "Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam" and "Jallikkattu" fame Lijo Jose Pellissery, is easily one of the biggest Malayalam films of all time and in an exciting development, the movie is getting ready to release in two parts.## According to a report by Cinema Express, the "Malaikottai Vaaliban" story will be completed in two parts, keeping the open climax in the first one. The report further said that Mohanlal and Lijo's second collaboration, as reported earlier by multiple sources, would be on "Malaikottai Vaaliban 2". ## The film is jointly produced by John & Mary Creative, Century Films, Maxlab Cinemas and Entertainments, and Yoodlee Films, along with Amen Movie Monastery. Manikandan's Tamil-language drama film Kadaisi Vivasayi (The last farmer) is the second highest-rated film worldwide on Letterboxd, an acclaimed online social networking service focused on sharing opinions about, and love of film. ## Produced by Vijay Sethupathi Productions and 7Cs Entertainment "Kadaisi Vivasayi" was released in February last year and won critical acclaim though it was a box office failure. It stars an eighty-five-year-old farmer named Nallandi and features Vijay Sethupathi and Yogi Babu in supporting roles. ## On Letterboxd, "Kadaisi Vivasayi" has been rated 4.3 stars out of 5 based on approx. 3000 verified ratings. It is the second most-rated movie worldwide, behind "Everything Everywhere All at Once" which got a 4.4 average rating. ## The second Indian film in the highest-rated films worldwide on Letterboxd is SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster RRR which secures 8th spot with 4.2 stars based on approx. 100K ratings.
