Last time when Rajkumari Hirani directed a movie, he delivered a masterpiece and one of the biggest blockbusters of Hindi cinema starring Ranbir Kapoor in and as 'Sanju'. The movie is based on Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt's dramatic life. Ranbir Kapoor was praised for delivering an all-time best performance. However, some people criticized and termed it an image-cleansing of its protagonist. ## On the business front, Sanju took the box office by storm and emerged as the highest-grossing Hindi movie of the year with its worldwide collection of ₹ 588.50 crores including the net collection of ₹ 342.57 crores in India. ## The movie was produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Rajkumar Hirani under their respective banners. It was written by Rajkumar Hirani and Abhijat Joshi.
