Mumbai, July 31 - Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-fronted "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" crosses 50 crores net mark after the solid first Monday. The movie had a very good opening weekend with 45.90 crores net, which is the 4th biggest first Friday-Sunday weekend for Bollywood this year.## RRKPK needed to stay strong on its first make-or-break Monday and it passes the test with flying colors. The early estimates suggest the collection is in the range of 7-7.50 crores net today, dropping around 60% from Sunday which is normal after a strong weekend collection. ## As compared to Friday, the drop in the collection of RRKPK today is in the range of 30-35% which is a fantastic hold, however, the overall collection is on the average side for a big-budget movie like this. The first Friday/opening day was itself decent with 11.10 crores net though the Saturday and Sunday jump didn't let it affect the overall weekend collection. ## The total collection of the film has reached over 53 crores net in 4 days, and RRKPK will need to remain consistent during the coming days for a good opening week. Mumbai, July 31 - Karan Johar's directorial romantic family drama film "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" scored a huge opening weekend at the worldwide box office, thanks to the very good performance internationally.## The movie, starring Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt, took a decent opening at the domestic box office with 11.10 crores net, before showing big jumps on Saturday and Sunday for 16.05 crores and 18.75 crores net, respectively, making it a 45.90 crores net (~54.50 crores gross) opening weekend. ## The 45.90 crores net is the 4th biggest Friday-Sunday opening weekend for Bollywood in 2023, after "Pathaan", "Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan", and "Adipurush". Overseas, RRKPK grossed approx. 34 crores in the first weekend, helping the worldwide collection of the movie to reach approx. 88.50 crores which are superb. Mumbai, July 29 - After a decent opening day of 11.10 crores net, Karan Johar's "Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani" witnesses a solid jump of over 40% today, on its second at the domestic box office. Positive word of mouth comes into play today as it scores one of the biggest second-day jumps post the covid-19 pandemic for a major Bollywood release. ## The early estimates suggest the second-day collection in the range of 15.50-16.50 crores, which takes the total net collection to around 27 crores in two days. Mumbai, July 28 - Karan Johar's directorial return "Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani" has a decent opening at the box office. The movie started on a decent note in the morning shows but due to super solid word of mouth, it showed a very good jump in the evening and night shows. ## The early estimates suggest the opening in the range of 11-12 crores net for this Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt-starrer. The opening of the movie in the mid-10s would have been a very good one considering the budget but that is not the case anymore as it won't reach there.## RRKPK is strong in multiplexes but not that strong in single screens which is expected for this kind of genre. However, it was much for the movie to cross the double-digit mark which it has comfortably done. Mumbai, July 28 - Well-known Bollywood filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari's romantic drama "Bawaal" starring Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor was supposed to be an experimental love story in the backdrop of World War II but it is turning into a major controversial attempt on this historical chapter.## The film has been accused of trivializing and demeaning the deaths of millions of Jews killed during the Holocaust by using Auschwitz as a metaphor for relationship problems. Many critics in India and internationally have slammed the film for drawing parallels to Jews suffering in Auschwitz camp and dying. ## Produced by Nadiadwala Entertainment, "Bawaal" tells the story of a history teacher who is embarrassed by his new wife's epilepsy. As they travel together to Europe to visit historic second world war sites, they fall in love with each other.## The movie receives a strong rebuke from the Simon Wiesenthal Center (SWC), an NGO dedicated to the well-being of Jews as well as the Holocaust victims. The NGO has issued a statement demanding the removal of the film from Amazon Prime Video which is the exclusive streaming partner of the film. ## "Auschwitz is not a metaphor. It is the quintessential example of Man's capacity for Evil. By having the protagonist in this movie declare that 'Every relationship goes through their Auschwitz', Nitesh Tiwari, trivializes and demeans the memory of 6 million murdered Jews and millions of others who suffered at the hands of Hitler's genocidal regime", SWC said in a statement.## The NGO called on Amazon to remove the movie from its platform and to stop "monetizing" the Holocaust. "If the filmmaker's goal was to gain PR for their movie by reportedly filming a fantasy sequence at the Nazi death camp, he has succeeded. Amazon Prime should stop monetizing Bawaal by immediately removing this banal trivialization of the suffering and systematic murder of millions of victims of the Nazi Holocaust", the statement further read. CBFC Asks For Major Changes In Akshay Kumar-Starrer 'OMG 2': Report

Mumbai, July 26 - Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar's social comedy-drama "OMG 2" is scheduled to release on August 11 but the makers are yet to receive the censor certificate from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).## It was recently reported that the Examining Committee (EC) of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) referred the Akshay Kumar-starrer to the Revising Committee (RC) due to its religious content. It has been reported that CBFC is being very careful about the movie as it feels "OMG 2" content is slightly controversial.## Now, according to Bollywood Hungama, the Revising Committee has suggested several changes in the films, which the makers are not comfortable with. "In all, the RC has asked for 20 cuts. These include both visual and audio deletions. On top of it, they have also suggested the makers opt for an adults-only certification", the report says.## The makers, however, are reportedly not ready for these many changes as they believe that it'll affect the essence of the film. They are also not okay with an "A" certificate. Mumbai, July 25 - Bollywood star Kartik Aaryan and director Anees Bazmee will be reuniting for the third installment of the horror-comedy franchise "Bhool Bhulaiyaa". The duo created magic with the "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2" last year with a worldwide gross collection of over 260 crores before producer Bhushan Kumar of T-Series officially announced "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3". ## Now, according to Pinkvilla, the shoot of BB3 will commence in February 2024 and it will be hitting theaters worldwide on Diwali later in the year. "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is in the scripting stage at the moment and the team has locked the basic plot for the third part of this iconic horror comedy franchise. It will be shot over a period of 4 months", the report says.## "Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3" will clash with Akshay Kumar-fronted much bigger IP, "Housefull 5" which will go on floors in December this year on Diwali next year. Interestingly, the first "Bhool Bhulaiyaa" (2007) was led by Akshay Kumar and was directed by Priyadarshan. So, it will be an interesting battle between BB3 and HF5. ## Meanwhile, before starting BB3, Anees Bazmee will complete Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer action comedy, tentatively titled "Ek Sath Do Do" (1722), which will go on floors early next month. We need to believe in our stories and tell them to our audience".## The actor further said that the media shouldn't compare movies if they are coming on the same day. He recalled how "Gadar" was run down completely but emerged as a people's movie and grossed over 100 crores worldwide despite clashing with Aamir Khan's "Lagaan" which was hailed as a classic blockbuster.## "Gadar did Rs 100 crore plus, while Lagaan did much less. I don't understand why people compare – whether it's from the business or likeability point. Gadar didn't have the perception, people thought it is this masala film and is an old sort of film with old songs".## "On the other hand, people thought Lagaan was classic, etc. The so-called people who talk about films had run down Gadar completely. It went on to become a people's film, and they loved it. At award shows, I remember that they made a spoof of Gadar, but we weren't bothered by it. It has happened with some of my other films too, like Ghayal and Dil, which clashed. Nitesh Tiwari's directorial, which was originally hyped as a theatrical release, debuted directly on Amazon Prime Video on July 21. ## Produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, "Bawaal" opened to mixed reviews from critics and mixed to positive responses from digital audiences. Amazon Prime Video made it available to stream in over 200 countries, making it one of the widest digital releases ever for Indian movies. ## According to Ormax Media, a media consulting firm, "Bawaal" scored 6.9 million views in its first three days, and was the 3rd most-watched Hindi title in India across OTT platforms in the week of July 17 - July 24. The 6.9 million views are estimates based only within India as Ormax doesn't track international streaming data. ## Meanwhile, as per a recent report, "Bawaal" was sold to Amazon Prime Video for 120 crores while the budget of the film is believed to be 80 crores. The movie stars Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt in the leading roles alongside Dharmendra, Jaya Bachchan, and Shabana Azmi in key roles. ## According to Bollywood Hungama, RRKPK has been made in a budget of 160 crores while the additional cost is around 18 crores, making it 178 crores budgeted movie. The date is of significance in the narrative, and ties in neatly with the protagonist and his twin's journey", a source from the creative team revealed to Mid-Day.## The shoot of "Ek Sath Do Do" will commence at a specially designed set of a Rajasthani haveli in a Mumbai studio. "A chunk of the film is set in a Rajasthani village. After the monsoon, the team will head to the desert state for an extensive schedule.
