Upset With Media Outrage On Film Industry, Producers Guild Of India Pens An Open Letter

The Producers Guild of India, on Friday (September 4), has penned an open letter regarding the attacks on the reputation of the Indian film industry across all media. Since the last few months after Sushant Singh Rajput's death, there have been many reports in the media that targeted the film industry in the names of nepotism, movie mafia, drug mafia, etc. ## "The tragic death of a promising young star has been used by some as a tool to defame and slander the film industry and its members. A picture has been painted of the industry a terrible place for the outsiders to aspire to; a place that threatens those who dare to enter it with contempt and derision; a murky den of substance abuse and criminality. This narrative is salacious enough for the media to exploit to great effect in order to boost its ratings, readership and page views", the letter read. ## "But it is not the truth", the letter further stated. "Like any other sector, there is no doubt that the film industry has its imperfections, and there must always be an ongoing attempt by any industry to improve upon itself, learn and evolve while weeding out unsavory elements or improper practices that hold it back. But to paint an entire industry with the same brush is a gross misrepresentation of reality". ## While this film industry has its failure to some extent, there is another undeniable expect is that it is one of the largest industries which provides thousands of jobs, boost travel and tourism, which plays an important part to boost an economy. Stating about the same, the letter further read -## "The film industry employs hundreds of thousands of people, boost travel and tourism, and is one of the most important sources of the soft power of India across the world. It has entertained hundreds of millions of people for over a century and has brought joy, honor, and glory to the nation. It has welcomed and embraced talent from across the country - from the worlds of literature, poetry, art, and music - and has drawn them in to create a unique cinematic language".## Read the full letter, here -## Producers Guild Of India pens an open letter about being upset with the relentless attacks on the reputation of the Indian film industry across all media.Read the complete letter, it's important 👇#Bollywood | #BollywoodBreaking2020 pic.twitter.com/louCZWzkr8— Sacnilk Entertainment (@SacnilkEntmt) September 4, 2020 ## "These are difficult times for the country and the world, so rather than venting our fears and frustrations on each other with vile and vicious trolling, it is more important than ever to come together instead of tearing each other apart".## "The media must look in the mirror and stop fanning the flames. There are some things more important than advertising revenues and ratings - things like common human decency. Let's show we still have some. In solidarity, the Producers Guild of India", the letter concluded. ## Stay tuned...

Today it is clear that PM himself had been carrying out a parallel negotiation: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## - We've been saying that there should be an inquiry through JPC. Now Ministry itself has said, "we may advise PMO that any Officers who are not part of Indian Negotiating Team may refrain from having parallel parlays": Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## DM Nirmala Sitharaman too lied. Former French President has admitted that he was made to choose Anil Ambani by PM Modi himself: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## It has been proved that the watchman is a thief: the Congress president Rahul Gandhi. ## Defence Secretary of India says, "It is desirable that such discussions be avoided by the PMO as it undermines our negotiating position seriously." It cannot be written stronger than this: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## The government has lied to the Supreme Court: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## Yesterday, Mr. Modi gave a lengthy sermon, why doesn't he answer these questions? Why doesn't he state the reason for parallel negotiations?: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## Modi govt can do any inquiry they want on any of the Congress leaders. We are ready to face it. But he should do an inquiry on #RafaleScam too: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## The Modi government lied to the Supreme Court, the question arose only on the whole verdict as the CAG report to be presented was never present: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## We brought the truth forward and now we will take it further. We have done our duty, now the duty of journalists is to tell the people of the country that PM Modi is a thief, I have to say tough words, but this is true: Congress President Rahul Gandhi. ## Signed, sealed & now delivered for the whole country to see. Your lies are out in the open Modiji, the Defence Ministry clearly opposed your interference in the Rafale deal & you have single handedly undermined India's position. #ChowkidarChorHai #PakdaGayaModi pic.twitter.com/8nGic1xH4V— Congress (@INCIndia) February 8, 2019 For more and the latest news about Politics, stay tuned to us.
