The superhero series, starring Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, will debut online on June 8 and will have six episodes. It is created by Bisha K. Ali with Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah leading the directing team. ## Ms. Marvel has a new synopsis ahead of the Disney+ premiere, "An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega-fan with an oversized imagination-particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn't fit in at school and sometimes even at home-that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she's always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?". ## Meanwhile, the first reactions to the first two episodes of the series are out online as reviewers praised Imam Vellani's performance to bring Kamala Khan's character to life on-screen. Have a look at some of the reviews on the first two episodes of the series. ## I want to say very briefly the way the culture is integrated is one of my favorite things -- it's not there to be discussed or liked or disliked, it's a fact. Just a part of her life. And that's how it's treated. I loved seeing it. #MsMarvel— Preeti Chhibber🕸️Preorder Spidey's Social Dilemma (@runwithskizzers) May 25, 2022 ## #MsMarvel is so much fun! A lot of it is slice-of-life based (nice to get the perspective of how regular people in the MCU view the superheroics going on around them). The question of how so many people know what happened in the Endgame final battle is also answered. 😆— Julia Delbel (@juliadelbel) May 25, 2022 ## #MsMarvel most definitely feels the most like Homecoming. Kamala is a straight up nerd who is in love with the Avengers. What makes her journey more interesting is her struggle with identity, being a Pakistani and a Muslim America. Her awkwardness is soo relatable and charming. pic.twitter.com/nfIlMsYMq2— Rayyan - #Kenobi | #MsMarvel Era 🇵🇰 (@RayyanTCG) May 25, 2022 ## - The supporting cast is killer. Every member of Kamala's family is great, their dynamic makes the show. I think Kamala's friend Nakia will be a fan favorite.- For people uncertain about her power change: Kamala's insecurities are still represented through her powers.— Jack McBryan (@McBDirect) May 25, 2022 ## The animated stylings and doodles throughout are a really fun touch. Also, the opening minutes somehow gets you to buy her obsession with Captain Marvel despite the character’s limited time in the public.— Russ Milheim (@RussMilheim) May 25, 2022 ## The show is rich w/ Muslim culture, but also VERY Jersey City, which I love. There’s a very fun vibe here, and while it’s light on action, the writing is so good that you aren’t missing it. Next to #Loki, these may be my favorite first two episodes of an MCU show yet#MsMarvel pic.twitter.com/4eyxPis833— Erik Davis (@ErikDavis) May 26, 2022 ## @msmarvel will air weekly on @disneyplus beginning June 8, 2022. pic.twitter.com/2RrPTBoiwk— Comic Book Saga 🎙 (@ComicBookSaga) May 25, 2022 ## @msmarvel will air weekly on @disneyplus beginning June 8, 2022. pic.twitter.com/IUR8i0AUgT— Elijah Boxhill (@OpticalCinema) May 25, 2022 ## You’ll know exactly why Vellani’s casting was a unanimous decision. Always amazed by how well these young actors “get” the MCU. You can tell Kamala is just an extension of the super fan Iman is in real life, and that authenticity goes a long way. pic.twitter.com/yrUJqvcJFo— Liam Crowley (@LiamTCrowley) May 25, 2022 ## I saw the first two episodes of #MsMarvel and found most of it to be really heartwarming and charming. It’s a sweet coming-of-age story packed with very relatable family drama, it’s funny, and moments between Kamala and her family were some of the highlight for me. pic.twitter.com/agupqQD6HA— Adam Hlaváč 🔜 #SWCA (@adamhlavac) May 25, 2022 ## #MsMarvel is so much fun. It’s exciting to get a concentrated look at civilian life in a world full of heroes & the consequent stan culture. The Muslim representation is brilliant, adding depth to the story & Khan family for those who will embrace this glimpse into our culture. pic.twitter.com/j84eu6rwrm— yasmine!! (@byebyebucky) May 25, 2022 ## I got to see the first 2 episodes of #MsMarvel and the show is SO FUN!! Imani Vellani’s Kamala Khan is an instantly relatable Marvel fan girl. People are going to love her and her family! Most surprising was the tone it’s VERY stylized, upbeat, and a little dark.
