Rashid Khan, the number one T20 bowler successfully defend 9 runs in the last over as Afghanistan completes series whitewash over Bangladesh to beat them by 1-run in the 3rd and final T20I at Rajiv Gandhi international cricket stadium, Dehradun, Uttrakhand on Thursday, June 7.## It was a close encounter where both teams had their chance. Mushfiqur Rahim tried hard to take Bangladesh over the line. When 30 runs were needed in 12 balls, Rahim collected 21 runs in 19th over of Karim Janat where he hit five back to back boundaries to him But his effort was overshadowed by Rashid's brilliance who defend 9 runs in last over thanks to Shafiquallah Shafiq's brilliant effort on long on boundary to stop a certain boundary. Bangladesh could manage only 7 runs in last over and lost the match by a narrow margin of one run.## Earlier in this match, Afghanistan won the toss and opted to bat first. Mohammad Shahzad and Usman Ghani gave a good start by adding 55 runs for the first wicket. However, Bangladesh bounced back strongly to dismiss both the openers in back to back overs. After that Afghan's captain, Stanikzai and Shamiullah Shenwari did well to take Afghanistan to 145 after 20 overs. Shenwari remained unbeaten on 33 off 28 balls while Stanikzai scored 27 off 17 balls.## Nazmul Islam and skipper Shakib Al Hasan bowled well and finished their spell with 2/18 and 1/16 respectively. Abu Jayad also bowled decently well and picked 2 wickets for 27 runs in his 4 overs.## In reply of 146, Bangladesh lost 3 early wickets in the first 6 overs on 35 runs. They received a huge blow when Skakib also got out in 9th over after scoring 10 runs. They were reduced to 53 for 4 after 8.3 overs. However, Rahim and Mahmudullah brought back Bangladesh in the game and added 84 runs off 64 balls before Rashid dismissed Rahim on the first ball of the last over. He scored 46 off 37 balls. Mahmudullah tried hard but could win for Bangladesh as they fell just short to the target. He scored 45 off 38 balls before run out on the last ball.## Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi, and Rashid Khan were the star again with the ball. Mujeeb conceded 25 runs in 4 overs and picked a wicket while Nabi and Rashid conceded 20 and 24 runs respectively in 4 overs each.
