Box Office: Marathi Blockbuster 'Baipan Bhari Deva' Hits 50 Crores Gross; Targets History In The Long Run

Mumbai, July 15 - The box office record of all-time blockbuster "Sairat" might be in danger as the latest Marathi sensation "Baipan Bhari Deva" is taking giant steps at the box office. ## "Baipan Bhari Deva" has become the 3rd highest-grossing Marathi movie of all time, and crossed the 50 crores gross mark on its 16th day. On its 17th day, the comedy-drama movie grossed an estimated 7 crores, which takes the total collection to over 60 crores (51 crores net).## The third-weekend collection of "Baipan Bhaari Deva" is looking to be on par with the second-weekend collection. By the next weekend, it will cross Riteish Deshmukh's "Ved" (73 crores gross) to become the second biggest Marathi movie of all time. ## It is quite historic that the second-week collection (29.60 crores gross) of BBD scored a growth of over 100% over the first-week collection (14.70 crores gross). The movie is expected to repeat the second week's collection in the ongoing third week, and this makes it the serious contender to surpass the "Sairat" lifetime collection in the long run. ## "Sairat", the only Marathi movie to date to cross the prestigious 100 crores gross mark, is directed by Nagraj Manjule. Nagraj Manjule Speaks About Directing Megastar Amitabh Bachchan

Mumbai, March 2 - The blockbuster Sairaat director Nagraj Manjule is all set to make his debut in the Hindi cinemas with Jhund which is slated to release this Friday. Amitabh Bachchan plays the role of a professor who motivates the street children to form a football team.## In a chat with Mid-Day, the filmmaker revealed why he decided to make the film in Hindi and work with Amitabh Bachchan. Nagraj Manjule also revealed that he was a huge fan of Amitabh Bachchan and had seen almost all his films in theatres. ## When asked about working with Big B, Nagraj Manjule admits he was star struck. Top Indian Stars To Light Up Big Screen In The Month Of March

Mumbai, February 17 - The gloomy days seem to be getting over as the Indian film industry is readying for the blockbuster summer upfront. Having gone through more downs than ups in the last two years, the cinema biz was in dire need to make a strong comeback, and that comeback seems to be around the corner with blockbuster titles lined up to release during the entire summer of 2022. ## In one of our previous articles, we stated how the last week of February 2022 has become intense with blockbuster titles, but the fact is, its following month is looking even more promising in which a few of the top Indian stars will come together to light up the big screen. ## The big-screen entertainment in March will kick-start with legendary Amitabh Bachchan's biographical sports film "Jhund", which is slated for March 4, release. Ready since 2020, this Nagraj Manjule-directed is finally seeing the light of the day. The movie is based on the life of Vijay Barse (Big B), the founder of NGO Slum Soccer, and it also stars "Sairat" duo Akash Thosar, and Rinku Rajguru in prominent roles. ## "Jhund" is to be followed by the Suriya-starrer Tamil movie "Etharkkum Thunindhavan", which will be released on March 10 in multiple languages. This Pandiraj-directed will be Suriya's first theatrical release after two back-to-back OTT releases in the form of "Soorarai Pottru", and "Jai Bhim". The expectation will be high from the actor's big-screen comeback movie as he is one of the top stars of Tamil cinema. "ET" is produced by Sun Pictures and it stars Priyanka Arul Mohan as the female lead. ## A day after the "ET" release, one of the most anticipated and long-awaited Pan Indian biggie, "Radhe Shyam", starring Prabhas and Pooja Hegde will debut in theaters. The period romantic drama film, directed by Radha Krishan Kumar, was supposed to release on January 14 but the 3rd covid-19 wave forced its postponement to March 11. It is expected to take a thundering opening at the box office, especially in Telugu. The budget of the movie is around Rs. 200 crores and the makers are confident that the movie will justify its large scale and will bring the audiences to theaters in large numbers. ## As far as the Hindi box office is concerned, the onus will again be on Akshay Kumar to glorify its magic as his "Bachchan Pandey" will be released on the occasion of Holi on March 18. This Farhad Samji-directed has everything, be it action, comedy, or romance, the audience could have asked for, and thus, there is a positive vibe among the trade and makers that it won't disappoint and will become the box office monster. The film will be the top contender to become the highest-grossing Indian title of the year. The details about the project were revealed much but it was reported that Veere Di Wedding director Shashanka Ghosh would be helming the film which was said to be a romantic-comedy. ## Well, it has been confirmed now, and the movie has been titled "Plan A Plan B". Tamannaah Bhatia will be starring as the female lead alongside Riteish Deshmukh. Riteish is playing a matchmaker while Tamannah essays the role of a divorce lawyer. Riteish Deshmukh To Make His OTT Debut With A Netflix Film To Be Directed By Shashanka Ghosh?

While the plot of the movie is yet to be known, it is reported that it is a social comedy movie that will be directed by Shashanka Ghosh. ## Shashanka Ghosh is known for helming movies like Veere Di Wedding, Sonam Kapoor's Khoobsurat, and Quick Gun Murugun among others. After A Year Of Disappointment, Bollywood Gears Up To Woo Fans With Mega Announcements

It has almost been a year since the last big Bollywood star movie released in cinemas. Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor starrer, Baaghi 3 was the last film released in theaters, on March 6, 2020, before the covid-19 pandemic stopped the world including the entertainment industry. However, after the lockdown lifted and theaters reopened, movies such as Suraj Pe Mangal Bhari, and Indoo Ki Jawani released but they couldn't woo the audience due to the lack of star power and the fear of coronavirus. ## Theater owners were (and still are) looking at Bollywood with a hopeful eye, while on the other hand, the filmmakers also wanted someone to take the first step before they go all guns blazing. And when things were looking dim, it was the Tamil film industry that paved the way for others to follow amid the fear of the virus. Thalapathy Vijay took a bold decision to release his action entertainer, Master in theaters, to provide a much-needed boost to the ailing Tamil film industry, and the rest, as they say, is history. Master grossed over INR 220 crores worldwide despite the 50% seating capacity of cinemas and emerged as a big blockbuster. ## Master filled enough confidence in the filmmakers of the different film industries which can be seen in the recent announcements. Over the past few days, Bollywood has made several mega announcements, outlining ambitious plans to release some of this year's most important projects in theatres, from next month to Diwali.
