Suriya's 'Kanguva' To Avert Box Office Clash With Rajinikanth's 'Vettaiyan'?

Chennai, August 22 - Two of the biggest Tamil movies of the year, superstar Rajinikanth's action thriller Vettaiyan and Suriya-fronted Kanguva are set for an epic clash at the box office this Dussehra weekend, on August 10, 2024. ## Kanguva was the first to announce the August 10 release amid the anticipation that Vettaiyan would take the slot before Lyca Productions recently confirmed the inevitable clash. There have been mixed voices regarding this clash as both films are huge in terms of budget and scale with tremendous buzz and hype. ## Now, according to the latest buzz in Tamil media, the makers are contemplating postponing Kanguva to avoid the clash with the Rajinikanth-starrer. Mumbai, August 21 - Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has scored another big win after the blockbuster box office performance. Directed by Nithilan Swaminathan, it has become the most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix.## Maharaja scored 1.3 million views in its 6th week which pushed its total viewership to 18.6 million on Netflix. Chennai, August 7 - Vijay Sethupathi's action thriller Maharaja has emerged as the third most-watched Indian movie of 2024 on Netflix. The Nithilan Swaminathan's directorial was originally released in theatres and emerged as a big box office blockbuster by grossing over 100 crores worldwide.## Maharaja debuted on Netflix on July 12, four weeks after the blockbuster theatrical release. It scored 3.20 million views in the opening weekend on Netflix, followed by a huge 6.10 million views in the second week (July 15-21), and another 3.60 million views during the week of July 22-28. ## In the fourth week (July 29 - August 4), the movie generated 2.60 million views, pushing its total viewership to 15.50 million views in 24 days.
