71st National Film Awards: Director Atlee Celebrates Shah Rukh Khan's National Award for Jawan, Says 'A Lot More To Come'

Mumbai, August 2, 2025 - Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan scored a major achievement by winning the Best Actor award for the film Jawan at the 71st National Film Awards, announced on August 1st. This also happened to be SRK's first-ever National Award in his 33-year career. ## Jawan director Atlee took to social media to celebrate SRK's maiden National Award victory. The filmmaker shares an emotional and heartfelt tribute, congratulating the superstar and trusting him for the mega blockbuster film like Jawan. ## "Feeling blessed, @iamsrk sir. I'm super happy that you've got the national award for our movie Jawan. It feels very emotional and inspiring to be part of your journey. Thank you for trusting me and giving this film, sir. It's just my first love letter to you; a lot more to come, sir," Atlee said. ## The director further thanked and congratulated the team behind Jawan for their support. "Super, super, super happy for @shilparao to get one more national award for Jawan Chaleya. I feel so, so happy and emotional. This is one of my life's most important moments; Shah Rukh sir being near you itself is a great blessing, sir. "As a fanboy, working with you and making a film and presenting it in a mass mode of SRK, sir, is a pure, pure blessing from God, and finally, God is so kind to give us back the greatest moment in our life. Lots of love sir," the filmmaker said. ## Produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, the film stars Shah Rukh Khan in a dual role as lookalike father and son alongside Nayanthara (in her Hindi film debut) and Vijay Sethupathi. In the film, Azad, the jailer of a women's prison, is a vigilante who recruits inmates and commits acts that shed light on corruption in India. ## The movie was a huge box office success, grossing over 1150 crores worldwide. Bengaluru, August 17 - The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) announced the winners of the 70th National Film Awards at the National Media Center in New Delhi on Friday (August 16), to honour feature and non-feature films certified by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) between January 1, 2022, and December 31, 2022. ## Among the big winners, Kannada production house Hombale Films scored 4 National Awards wins. Rishab Shetty-fronted action thriller Kantara won the Best Actor award to Shetty and the Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment. National Awardee GV Prakash Kumar Provides Musical Update On Akshay Kumar-Fronted Soorarai Pottru Hindi Remake

Mumbai, July 25 - Music composer GV Prakash Kumar is on cloud nine after scoring his first National Award in the recently announced 68th National Film Awards for the year 2020. He won this honor for composing the background score of "Soorarai Pottru", which combined 5 National Awards, including the Best Feature Film. ## The Hindi remake of this critically hailed film is in development with Akshay Kumar playing the lead role. Interestingly, GV Prakash Kumar is also on board to score the music of the Hindi remake as well and has already started the work on the music front.## On Sunday (July 24), the talented composer announced on social media that he has already recorded 3 songs for the Soorarai Pottru Hindi remake and is super charged up for more in the same. The movie is being directed by Sudha Kongara who also helmed the original film.## "Finished recording three songs for #sooraraipottru Hindi remake.
