Akshay Kumar's 'Prithviraj' Director Chandraprakash Dwivedi Conferred With Padma Shri Award

Mumbai, January 26 - The government of India has announced the recipient of civilian awards for this year. Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi, who has directed Akshay Kumar and Manushi Chhiller's upcoming movie "Prithviraj", has been honored with the Padma Shri award, the fourth-highest civilian award of the country for his service in the field of art.## Dr. Dwivedi is humbled and honored to receive this prestigious award and dedicated it the the Republic of India. "I'm deeply humbled to have been bestowed with the prestigious Padma Shri award. I have been fortunate enough to creatively collaborate with some of the best minds of the Hindi film and television industry", the filmmaker said in a statement. ## Dr. Chandraprakash Dwivedi is best known for directing the historical tv show "Chanakya" in the 90s. His next directorial is the feature film "Prithviraj", which tells the story of valour of the fearless King Prithviraj Chauhan. Akshay portrays the title role while the movie is produced by Yash Raj Film. ## "I have always been someone who has tried to tell a story that is immersed in our country's history and culture and I dedicate this award to my country. This recognition will drive me to tell stories that celebrate my motherland in its full glory like my next 'Prithviraj' in which we will honor the valour of one of the bravest warriors that India has ever seen", he added.## "Prithviraj" was supposed to release on January 21 this year but has been postponed amid the 3rd covid-19 wave. Dr. Dwivedi, however, is hopeful that the audience will love the film whenever it will release. "I have had the pleasure to work with a towering actor like Akshay Kumar to essay Prithviraj on screen and I hope my countrymen love the film that we have made with a lot of passion".## Akshay Kumar also took to Twitter and congratulate the filmmaker on receiving the honor.
