Barbie Becomes The Highest-Grossing Film Solely Directed By A Female At The Worldwide Box Office

Los Angeles, August 3 - Warner Bros. Pictures' fantasy comedy film "Barbie" starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling is fast approaching the $1 billion mark at the global box office. It will be the first $1 billion grosser for the studio since "Joker" (2019). ## Directed by Greta Gerwig, "Barbie" has crossed $850 million worldwide, and it is now the highest-grossing movie ever solely directed by a female. It has surpassed Patty Jenkins-directed DC superhero movie "Wonder Woman" which grossed $822 million worldwide in 2017.## "Barbie" has so far grossed $382 million at the domestic (North America) and approx. $470 million at the international box office. It is now the biggest solely female-directed movie of all time, not counting "Captain Marvel" ($1.13 billion) which was co-directed by Anna Boden with Ryan K. Fleck. ## Apart from being the biggest grosser for a female director, "Barbie" has already become the highest-grossing film of Margot Robbie, who plays the titular role, as well as Ryan Gosling. Henry Cavill And Gal Gadot Cameos Reportedly Scrapped From DC's 'The Flash'

Los Angeles, December 18 - It looks like Warner Bros. is ending its former DC Extended Universe (DCEU) to make way for the new DC Universe being created by DC Studios Co-CEOs James Gunn and Peter Safran. ## The studio under the new CEOs is taking harsh calls to shape up its DC future for at least the next 8-10 years. James Gunn recently confirmed that Henry Cavill wouldn't be returning as Superman while the reports have also claimed that Warner Bros. has scrapped the 3rd installment of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 3". ## Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the cameos of Cavill as Superman and Gadot as Wonder Woman have also been scrapped in the upcoming 2023 superhero movie "The Flash" as the studio chose to not go forward with director Patty Jenkins' version of "Wonder Woman 3". ## It is said that Cavill had already shot his cameo but since he is not returning as Superman in the already announced "Man of Steal 2", his cameo no longer makes sense hence it has been cut in Ezra Millar's "The Flash", which is scheduled to release in June next year.## With Jason Momoa potentially leaving Aquaman behind to play Lobo and Patty Jenkins' version of Wonder Woman 3 no longer moving forward, it seems as though the DC Extended Universe that started with 2013's Man of Steel is coming to a close.## Stay tuned...

James Gunn Responds To 'Wonder Woman 3' Cancellation And Other DC Movies' Changes

Los Angeles, December 9 - Filmmaker James Gunn, the new DC Studios co-head, has responded to the chaotic reports about the cancellation of Gal Gadot's "Wonder Woman 3", and other DC movie changes, as far as the future of DC is concerned. ## It was reported yesterday by The Hollywood Reporter that Warner Bros., under the leadership of James Gunn and Peter Safran, is not moving ahead with the next Wonder Woman movie as the studio was not happy with the script presented by Patty Jenkins. ## Apart from the "Woman Women 3" news, it was also reported that the newly announced Henry Cavill may or may not reprise Superman while the upcoming "Aquaman 2" may be the swan song for Jason Momoa as the studio is not willing to take the franchise forward. ## Responding to the reports, James Gunn took to Twitter and said that "some of it is true, some of it half-true, some of it is not true, and some of it we haven't decided yet whether it's true or not". Gunn and Safran have been appointed to shape up the next 8-10 years of DC studio and the former said that it will take some time to build the franchise. ## As far as "Wonder Woman 3" is concerned, Deadline reports that writer-director Jenkins was given another chance to re-develop the story as the top Warner Bros. motion pictures brass were concerned about character arcs and payoffs, and the threequel emulating similar structural problems ala "Wonder Woman 1984", but Jenkins wasn't ready. The studio, however, still wants Gal Gadot to play Wonder Woman, but it is not yet sure she would do it without Jenkins at the helm.## Gunn continues and said that there will be hard steps taken, and by doing this, they will not able to please everyone. He says "Peter & I chose to helm DC Studios knowing we were coming into a fractious environment, both in the stories being told & in the audience itself & there would be an unavoidable transitional period as we moved into telling a cohesive story across film, TV, animation, and gaming".## "We know we are not going to make every single person happy every step of the way, but we can promise everything we do is done in the service of the STORY & in the service of the DC CHARACTERS we know you cherish and we have cherished our whole lives", Gunn says.## The filmmaker goes on to say that all the DC characters and their stories will be given enough time and attention they deserve. Los Angeles, December 8 - Warner Bros. seems to be clueless or maybe thinking too far ahead to shape up its DCEU future. The studio is moving on from its established superheroes and is on the cusp of a new era as far as the DC movies are concerned. ## The Warner Bros. Discovery CEO, David Zaslav recently roped filmmakers James Gunn and Peter Safran to shape up DC's future for the next 8 to 10 years, and now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, one of the first and big moves by the studio is that it is scrapping the planned 3rd installment of Gal Gadot-fronted "Wonder Woman". ## The report says that Patty Jenkins' "Wonder Woman 3" is not moving forward and is considered dead in its current incarnation. It is said that Jenkins recently submitted her treatment, co-written with Geoff Johns and that Gunn and Safran, as well as Warner Bros. DC's Most Prestigious Project Is In The Early Development Along With Many Others

Los Angeles, January 7 - While Gal Gadot is gearing up for the big-screen release of the mystery thriller "Death on the Nile", due on 11 Feb. 2022, the actress has her eyes already set on her next biographical drama, "Cleopatra". The movie has been in controversy ever since Gadot was cast as an Israeli actor playing the Ancient Egyptian queen. ## Gal Gadot, however, kept herself focused on the film on the historic icon she "admire so much". In a recent interview with InStyle magazine, Gal Gadot opened up about what people can expect from the film. While she didn't reveal much details but called it the "story the world needs to hear now".## "We're going to show not just how sexy and appealing she (Cleopatra) was, but how strategic and smart, and how much impact she had and still has on the world we're living in today. I've watched all the Cleopatra movies throughout history, but I feel like we're telling the story the world needs to hear now", Gadot said. ## "Cleopatra" biopic was supposed to be directed by Patty Jenkins, however, she back out from the project to focus on the 3rd installment of "Wonder Woman" film with Gal. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier helmer Kari Skogland will now direct the biopic. The shoot of the film is expected to begin sometime this year. ## Meanwhile, Gal Gadot will be returning as Prince Diana/Wonder Woman in the 3rd installment of the franchise. It is easily the most-awaited film of Gadot at the global level. Wonder Woman Star Gal Gadot-Fronted 'Cleopatra' Biopic Gets A New Director On Board

Los Angeles, December 7 - Gal Gadot-fronted biopic of "Cleopatra" is going through creative changes as Patty Jenkins, who was supposed to direct this keenly-awaited pic, has now moved into producing role. Kari Skogland, who got massive success with the Disney+ series "The Falcon and the Winter Soldier", has now been attached to direct Cleopatra pic, according to Deadline.## The Deadline report suggests that Patty Jenkins fell off as director so she could focus on her next two projects - Wonder Woman 3 and Star Wars: Rogue Squadron. She will now only produce the film along with Atlas Entertainment's Charles Roven, Gadot, and her Pilot Wave Motion Pictures partner Jaron Varsano. Paramount Picture has the distribution rights of this biographical drama, written by Laeta Kalogridis. ## Cleopatra is the daughter of Ptolemy, the ancestor of the leader of Alexander the Great's army. When Rome's ruler Julius Caesar's mentor-turned-rival Pompey fled to Egypt after a brutal war for control of the empire, Egypt became a fixation of Roman rulers. Two siblings battled for the throne of Egypt.## After winning that internal struggle by appealing personally to Caesar, Cleopatra had a complicated relationship with Rome, becoming the lover of Caesar and later Marc Antony. The latter alliance would become the undoing of both Antony and Cleopatra.## "Cleopatra" is definitely a massive project Skogland has bagged. The movie has the potential to be a mega-hit. Wonder Woman 3: Gal Gadot Provides Positive Update On The DC Film

Los Angeles, November 6 - Hollywood actress Gal Gadot rose to new heights after playing the role of Diana Prince/Wonder Woman in DCEU's "Wonder Woman" franchise. Having already played the title role in the first two WW films, the in-demand actress will be returning in the third installment after Warner Bros. greenlit the production of the film. ## Despite being asked to get a go, there hasn't been much development on the film since then. However, during the premiere of "Red Notice" recently, Gadot was asked about the third Wonder Woman and when it will come on the big screen.
