Mumbai, August 29 - Director Om Raut has finally opened up on Adipurush, starring Pan India superstar Prabhas. It was one of the most-hyped Indian movies in recent times but ended up as a major disappointment on every front.## The movie got trolled for the cringe characterization of the figures of the epic Ramayana and was largely a box office misfire despite the huge initial collections that were pulled through the factor of Ramayana and Prabhas' mega-stardom.## Made on a massive budget of 500 crores, Adipurush grossed around 400 crores at the worldwide box office and was termed a big flop, especially in the Telugu version. However, unlike the public opinion on the film's box office numbers, Om Raut seems to be happy with its performance. ## During a recent interview with a Marathi media, Om Raut called out the trollers and said that they don't need to bother too much about this faceless army on social media. He went on to say, "At the end of the day, what matters for the movie is the box office. And, Adipurush did very well at the box office". The filmmaker also said that superstars like Prabhas and Salman Khan as 'flop-proof' stars who can pull off any film. ## Adipurush is based on the epic Ramayana where Prabhas played the role of Lord Rama alongside Kriti Sanon as Sita and Saif Ali Khan as Raavan. Mumbai, August 28 - After the blockbuster performance at the box office, Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version debuted with good viewership on Netflix. Directed by Nag Ashwin, the movie started streaming on August 22, after 8 weeks of theatrical run. ## In its 4-day opening weekend, Kalki 2898 AD Hindi version scored 4.5 million views, which is more than Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff's first 4-day viewership of 2.9 million but behind Hrithik Roshan's Fighter (5.9 million) and Shah Rukh Khan's Dunki (4.9 million).## Kalki was the second most-watched non-English film worldwide during the week of August 19 - August 25 on Netflix. It has been trending in the top 10 in 14 countries, including number 1 in India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Outside Asia, the movie is trending in Mauritius and Nigeria. ## Earlier, the Hindi version of Kalki had a strong box office performance with over 400 crores in gross collection worldwide. In India, the movie scored approximately 293 crores in net collection (350 crores gross), which is the second highest of 2024 in the Hindi version. ## In all versions, the movie grossed over 1000 crores at the worldwide box office, including an estimated 765+ crores gross domestically. Mumbai, August 26 - Maverick director Sandeep Reddy Vanga is set to direct Pan India superstar Prabhas and Bollywood star Ranbir Kapoor in his next films. The filmmaker delivered a monstrous blockbuster last year in the form of Ranbir Kapoor-fronted Animal which was the talk of the town after getting released in December.## It has been over 8 months since Animal was released and the fans are now waiting for the filmmaker's next film. During a recent interview, Vanga shared that he already has planned his next two films on which, he would be working for the next four years. ## As known to everyone, the Kabir Singh director has Prabhas-fronted Spirit as his next film. He shared an update that the pre-production work on the movie has already started and will be released in the next 2 years, which means in 2026 only.## The initial plan was to start the filming for Spirit by 2024 end and release it in 2025, however, it seems the shoot will start early next year for the 2026 theatrical debut, as revealed by the filmmaker. The movie will be a pure mass entertainer, unlike the previous 2 films of the director. ## After Spirit, Vanga will start Animal Park which is the sequel to Animal. Ranbir Kapoor will return to reprise his double roles as Ranvijay Singh Balbir and Aziz Haque. Hyderabad, August 20 - Pan India superstar Prabhas and Sita Ramam director Hanu Raghavapudi have teamed up for the first time for a period action drama film. The movie, tentatively titled Fauji, was recently announced officially with Mythri Movie Makers coming on board to produce it. ## With the official announcement, debutante Imanvi was confirmed to play the female lead role opposite Prabhas in the film. Now, according to the report by Filmfare, the makers have also roped in Pakistani actress Sajal Ali to essay a pivotal role. ## Sajal Ali, a prominent face in Pakistani cinema, previously worked in India in the Bollywood movie Mom (2017) which was the last film of the legendary late actress Sridevi in a prominent role. Mumbai, August 6 - Pan India superstar Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic Kalki 2898 AD has become the 4th highest-grossing movie ever at the Indian box office, beating megastar Shah Rukh Khan-led 2023's mega-blockbuster Jawan. ## The domestic box office collection of Kalki 2898 AD has crossed 760 crores gross (640 crores net) in all languages after 40 days, which takes it past the entire run of Jawan's 760 crores gross. At the time of writing this piece, Kalki has surpassed Jawan in terms of both net and gross collection. ## The Hindi version of Kalki 2898 AD is leading the pack with approximately 350 crores gross (290 crores net), followed by the Telugu version with 335 crores gross while Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada versions have grossed around 75 crores so far.## As said, Prabhas' Baahubali 2 will remain the biggest domestic grosser with a mighty 1417 crores gross (1030 crores net), followed by KGF: Chapter 2, and RRR at the second and third with 1001 crores gross (860 crores net), and 916 crores gross (782 crores net), respectively. It has been difficult for Telugu movies to sustain for a longer period at the box office in recent times but the Prabhas-fronted sci-fi epic has been defying odds to hold its ground. ## The movie scored approximately 65 lakh net collection on its 6th Friday (37th day), dropping under 50% drop from the 5th Friday which is a decent hold. Though the makers announced a heavily discounted offer for the 1 week from August 2nd, it didn't make much difference as it still could have scored this collection with regular prices with a few lakhs here and there. ## The total collection of Kalki 2898 AD stands at an estimated 636.50 crores net (756 crores gross) after 37 days in all versions.
