Hyderabad, January 5 - Pan India superstar Prabhas has stamped his authority once again in Nizam with his latest blockbuster Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire which has crossed 100 crores gross mark in this region. ## The Baabubali star, after a few disappointing outings in the past, makes a roaring comeback with his latest action drama which is nearing the 600 crores gross mark at the global box office. Hyderabad, January 3 - Superstar Prabhas is basking on the success of his action drama Salaar: Part 1 - Ceasefire, directed by Prashanth Neel. The movie, which also stars Prithviraj Sukumaran, was promised a two-part story, and the first part ended with a cliffhanger which sets the stage for a big face-off between Prabhas and Sukumaran. ## The title of the film's second part, Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam was revealed in the climax of the first part and now, the producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films has revealed details about the release of the second part. ## During an interview with Pinkvilla, the producer revealed that the script of Salaar 2 is ready and the team is in the process of starting it any time. He further said that he along with Prabhas and Prashanth Neel have been discussing Salaar 2 in the last few days as the actor and director are keen to start it soon. ## Vijay Kiragandur has promised that Salaar 2 will be released in 2025 as they want to make it in the next 15 months. "Salaar 1 is just a glimpse of part two. You can treat it as a trailer and part two will be a lot bigger in terms of action and scale. Mumbai, January 1 - The Indian box office in 2023 witnessed a rise of approximately 8% as compared to 2022. It was a year when Bollywood was back on top and dominated the overall Indian market, thanks to some of the biggest blockbusters of all time in the form of Pathaan, Jawan, Animal, and Gadar 2, among others. ## In 2023, the films across languages grossed an estimated 11400 crores (9700 crores net) at the Indian box office, while in 2022, it was an estimated 10550 crores gross (8850 crores net) collection. The Hindi language has had a sharp rise of approximately 45% while the Telugu language mostly remained flat and Tamil witnessed an upward trend but Kannada and Malayalam cinema scored a decline. ## Have a look at the language-wise break-down of the collection at the Indian box office in 2023 - ## Hindi - As said, it was an unforgettable year for Hindi cinema scoring an estimated 4800 crores net collection in 2023, as compared to 3300 crores in 2022. In 2023, Bollywood scored its first 500 crores net grosser in the form of "Pathaan", before "Gadar 2", "Jawan", and "Animal" joined the party in this prestigious club. Apart from the four 500+ crore net grossers, there were 10 other films, including Salaar which minted over 100+ crores net. ## Telugu - It wasn't a great year for Telugu cinema in terms of delivering a big blockbuster. The highest-grossing film in Telugu came in the last month of the year in the form "Salaar" which has minted over 200 crores net. Overall, the Telugu language contributed an estimated 1860 crores net in 2023 as compared to 1900 crores in 2022. 2024, however, could be the break-out year for Telugu cinema as almost all the top stars will be in action. ## Tamil - The Tamil cinema had good success in 2023 with 5 films topping 100+ crores net collection, and two of them ("Leo" and "Jailer") went on to top 200+ crores net. Overall, the Tamil language scored an estimated 1600+ crores net collection in 2023, as compared to 1560 crores in 2022. Just like Telugu, Kollywood could also witness a major turnaround in 2024 with multiple blockbusters lined up for the release. ## Malayalam and Kannada - The Kannada cinema witnessed a major decline in collection in 2023 in the absence of major hits. Last year, there were "Kantara" and "KGF 2" which made a large contribution, but in 2023, things were the opposite, resulting in, the Kannada language scoring an estimated 200 crores net, compared to 650 crores in 2022. ## The Malayalam cinema had a break-out success in 2023 in the form of "2018 Movie" along with some other box office hits but it failed to cross 2022 in terms of overall collection. Still, it had little idea what it would deliver in the following year which has now become the best year in Indian cinema history. ## 2023 was the year when Indian cinema delivered more than it promised with back-to-back blockbusters and at the same time, it also marked the comeback of some of its before 21st-century era superstars who used to rule the box office and the hearts of audiences with their sheer dominance.## The Year of Comebacks - ## Shah Rukh Khan - One of the biggest headlines of 2023 was the comeback of King Khan who turned king of action to regain his lost throne by delivering three major blockbusters in the year. There were chatters across social media platforms and within the industry that the time of SRK was gone but he not only proved everyone wrong but also became the first Indian actor to score two 1000+ crores grossers ever in the same year. Shah Rukh Khan proved that he is here to stay and rule for many more years. ## Sunny Deol - Sunny used to be the face of patriotic films in the late 90s and early 20s, but somewhere, this image of him started fading away after 2005 and it seemed like the audiences had moved on from his films. The Prashanth Neel's directorial, which has fantastic collections all over, becomes only the 3rd film ever to score 50 crores share in Nizam. ## Salaar breached the 50 crore share mark in Nizam after scoring around 9 crore share collection on its 4th day. The total share in this area has reached around 51 crores, making it only the third movie after SS Rajamoli's RRR (111.89 crores share) and Baahubali 2 (68 crores share) to score over 50 crores share collection. ## The overall share collection of Salaar is 108+ crores in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh and Telangana) after 4 days which is a fantastic outcome. Mumbai, December 25 - Shah Rukh Khan's social comedy-drama Dunki has had a good extended first 4-day weekend with over 105.50 crores net collection. It became the third straight movie of SRK to score over 100 crores net in the first weekend after Pathaan and Jawan earlier this year. ## Directed by Rajkumar Hirani, Dunki is showing a drop of 25-30% on its today, which is a Christmas day for an estimated 22-22.50 crores net collection. The film has a good hold today though a collection with a couple of more crores would have been very good numbers. ## The total collection of Dunki has reached around 127+ crores net in 5 days and the first extended 8-day week is expected to be around 150 crores net.
