Hyderabad, April 8 - Pan India star Prabhas has reportedly compensated the distributors for their loss accrued due to the disastrous box office performance of "Radhe Shyam". ## Prabhas is one of the biggest names in Indian cinema and easily the most bankable star in the country. However, the actor's recently released period romantic drama film, "Radhe Shyam" failed to meet box office expectations which caused huge losses to the distributors. ## Known for his kindness, Prabhas reportedly took the initiative of compensating the investors and returned part of his remuneration to them. Made on a budget of around 300 crores, "Radhe Shyam" could only generate approx. 160 crores worldwide and was declared a disaster at the box office. ## The post-theatrical streaming rights of this Radha Krishna Kumar-directed were sold to Amazon Prime Video. The producers fetched a whopping amount of Rs 200 crores just from the satellite and digital rights which helped them to recover the cost. It was made available on Prime Video only after 21 days of theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. Mumbai, April 7 - Yash-fronted "KGF: Chapter 2" is finally releasing in theaters next week on April 14, and if reports are to be believed, the audience might have their first look glimpse of Prabhas' "Salaar" attached with movie print. ## It is said that since "Salaar" is also being directed by KGF fame Prashanth Neel for the same production house, Hombale Films, there are high chances that the makers have attached 25 seconds of "Salaar" glimpse. However, there is no confirmation about the same yet as makers have refused to comment on the same. ## "Salaar" is one of the most-awaited Pan-India projects and around 30% of the shoot is completed. The makers had originally planned for the movie to release in 2022, but it has been delayed to next year due to the covid-19 pandemic. Just like KGF, the Prabhas-starrer will also reportedly be released in two parts. ## Apart from the speculations about the "Salaar" glimpse, some reports have also stated that there might a be cameo appearance of Prabhas at the end of "KGF2", and "Salaar" might be the continuation of a Yash-led period action thriller film. Hyderabad, April 2 - There is something big is happening around superstar Prabhas regarding his Hollywood launch. While the "Baahubali" actor has already become one of the most bankable actors in the country, there are talks that he may soon sign up for a Hollywood project. ## According to Telugu360, Prabhas has initiated talks with one of the top Hollywood production houses Universal Studios. The report states that two rounds of discussions have already been completed and that further development will take place in due time. ## Universal Pictures has been behind some of the highest-grossing films of all time, and the Telugu360 report says that it is very keen to lock Prabhas for the franchise of an Asian superhero film. While the Hollywood media hasn't reported anything on such development, Prabhas is said to be the first consideration for the studio to play a superhero role. ## Meanwhile, Prabhas already has a number of titles in the pipeline. He will resume shooting for Prashanth Neel-directed "Salaar" soon while also working for Nag Ashwin's "Project K" simultaneously. In between, the "Saaho" actor will take director Maruthi's film. Mumbai, April 2 - Superstar Prabhas will be headlining some of the biggest Indian movies in the next 2 to 3 years. He became a nationwide sensation after the success of "The Baahubali" franchise in Hindi and later he tested the success with "Saaho" in the biggest Indian movie market. ## Prabhas's recently released "Radhe Shyam", however, couldn't do well at the box office and was declared a disaster. The actor is now gearing up for his next, titled "Adipurush", which is possibly the biggest film of his career. Prabhas called "Adipurush" more than just a film and sentimentally a very important project for his life. ## "Adipurush sentimentally is a very important project for my life. Om Raut, luckily I have a very good director. It is not just a film, it is something very important and everyone will be having a look at it. I was really frightened of it and is very important for me. It is something else I feel", Prabhas said to IANS. ## Even though "Radhe Shyam" didn't do well, Prabhas is still one of the biggest crowd-pullers in the country. When asked if Box Office numbers do matter to him, the actor said that it is important for him to see how many people liked his movies which can only be known through box office numbers. ## "Yes. I can't get every 'Baahubali' as a film. But the budget and the people's acceptance are very important. The box office can be told like that. It does not mean I break records. Nothing like that but how much I am reaching in every part, how many people are disappointed, happy, or super excited that I can only know through the box office. It (box office) is important", he added. ## Talking about "Adipurush", the movie is based on the Hindu epic Ramayana. Prabhas features in the title role, and it also stars Kriti Sanon and Saif Ali Khan as Janaki and Lankesh, respectively. Hyderabad, March 28 - SS Rajamouli's "RRR", has roared at the worldwide box office, as expected. With Everest-like expectations, the period action drama delivered big time and was the number 1 movie worldwide during its 3-day opening weekend, becoming the first Indian title since "Padmaavat" in July 2018, to gross 500 crores (502 Cr.). ## While the opening weekend box office numbers of "RRR" are no less than blockbuster stuff, the movie fell an inch short to create an all-time record for an Indian title. Rajamouli's own historical action drama film, "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion", retained its record of scoring approx. 512 crores worldwide in 2017 in the first weekend. ## "RRR" has had direct competition with "Baahubali 2" as far as the box office is concerned and it nearly equaled BB2's record. Comparing the day-wise worldwide gross, "RRR" scored 223 crores gross on the first day against 217 crores of BB2. However, BB2 came above "RRR" on the next two days with approx. 140 crores and 153 crores against 127 crores and 150 crores, respectivaly of "RRR". ## At the Indian box office, the latest blockbuster flick grossed 380 crores in the first three days while during the same time, "Baahubali 2" did gross 382 crores. State-wise, the Jr. NTR/Ram Charan-fronted made 203.5 crores gross against 105.7 gross of BB2 in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana during the first weekend. The massive gap between the two movies in AP/TG was mainly because of the higher ticket prices for "RRR". ## Apart from AP/TG, both "RRR" and "Baahubali 2" were neck to neck in Karnataka (38.5 Cr. vs 39 Cr.) and Tamil Nadu (32 Cr. vs 31.75 Cr.). However, the former legged behind the ATBB in Kerala with 12 crores against 17 crores of BB2. In North belt, there is no comparison between the two movies as BB2 was miles ahead of "RR". While BB2 generated 188.3 crores, "RRR" could only manage to made 94 crores (still excellent) in North region during the debut weekend. ## Overseas, the current global box office sensation has grossed approx. 122 crores while "Baahubali 2" was a little bit stronger with 130 crores. Hyderabad, March 26 - SS Rajamouli-directed "RRR" had a huge task in hand to perform on an opening day and it has not only performed successfully but also broked almost all the existing box office records for an Indian movie. The latest period action drama film got massively benefitted from the Telugu states governments' ticketing policy though. ## The movie was hugely hyped before the release and it justified the hype by proving to be a cinematic masterpiece. It has a direct competition with "Baahubali 2: The Conclusion" (2017), which was also directed by SS Rajamouli. The historical action drama film had held the record of the biggest opening ever for an Indian movie at the worldwide box office, which has now been breached by "RRR" almost 5 years later. ## Comparing opening day biz of "RRR" and "Baahubali 2" - the latest movie has grossed 223 crores (new record) while BB2 minted 217 crores worldwide on the opening day. Domestically, "RRR" has scored 156 crores gross as compared to 153 crores of BB2 while overseas, the former has scored 67 crores against 65 crores of Prabhas-starrer. ## Thanks to the new policies, "RRR" also has an upper hand over "Baahubali 2" in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, where Jr. NTR/Ram Charan film minted 102.50 crores while "Baahubali 2" had made way below but still good, 57 crores on the first day. However, in the Karnataka state, ATBB BB2 maintained its record of 19.50 crores against 14.50 crores of "RRR". In Tamil Nadu, "RRR" won the battle with a slight margin as it generated 10 crores against 9.25 crores of BB2.## "Baahubali 2" had grossed 1788 crores worldwide, in which, the Hindi collection was the biggest contributor with approx. 650 crores gross (India). This record is expected to remain unbeatable in the near future. "RRR" is unlikely to reach BB2's Hindi figure. In Hindi, BB2 had scored 52 crores gross on the first day while "RRR" could manage only 23.68 crores. Even in the Hindi belt, "RRR" is way behind BB2 on the first day as it scored only 25 crores as compared to 60.80 crores of BB2. ## Despite the advantage of higher ticket prices, one must admit that the "RRR" release has brought the Indian film industry to its strong feet. It had the biggest hurdle in the form of the covid-19 pandemic which was not the case with "Baahubali 2". Bengaluru, March 24 - Superstar Prabhas will return to the action with Prashanth Neel-directed "Salaar". The Pan-India movie was announced in 2020 with a release date in April 2021, but the shoot of the film kept getting delayed due to the covid-19 pandemic, resulting in the postponement of the arrival date.## Now, the producer of the film, Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films, has provided some key updates regarding the shoot and tentative release date plans. The producer, in an interview with Pinkvilla, confirmed that the shoot of "Salaar" will resume in the month of May.## "We are shooting for about 30 percent of the film. Prabhas then got busy with the promotions of Radhe Shyam and Prashanth got tied up with the post-production of KGF 2. We resume shooting from the month of May", he said, adding that the entire shoot will be wrapped up by the end of this year. ## About the release date, Vijay said, "It will be a 2023 release. We intend to release it between the window of April to June". ## There has been a lot of speculation about the plot details of "Salaar" as many believe it will be in line with the "KGF" theme. However, the producer refused to provide any hint about its plot because of the strict interaction by director Neel. "There is a strict instruction from the director to not reveal the storyline, but working with Prabhas is a real pleasure", he added. ## It has been strongly reported that "Salaar" will be released in two-part like Yash-fronted "KGF", which is also produced by Hombale Films and directed by Neel. Vijay didn't deny the two-part release of the action thriller film but said that everything will be revealed in due course of time. ## "Salaar" marks Prabhas' maiden collaboration with Neel who is gearing up for the worldwide release of his highly-awaited "KGF: Chapter 2" on April 14. Hyderabad, March 16 - Renowned filmmaker, SS Rajamouli has worked with some of the biggest Telugu stars in his nearly 2 decades-long career, and now, he is in talks to add one more Telugu superstar in his celebrated career. ## Rajamouli is currently busy promoting "RRR", which is scheduled to release on April 25th. It stars Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Ajay Devgn, and Alia Bhatt in prominent roles. After "RRR", the maverick filmmaker with a team with superstar Mahesh Babu for a jungle adventure film that will go on floors next year. Hyderabad, March 12 - Prabhas' love affair with the box office continues!## It was a box office bonanza at the Indian box office on Friday when superstar and darling of the fans, Prabhas' "Radhe Shyam" shot up to the biggest opening for an Indian film in 2022. With Rs. 50.30 crores gross on the first day, "Radhe Shyam" has also become the second biggest Indian movie during the covid-19 pandemic, behind only Allu Arjun's "Pushpa - The Rise", which grossed a mighty Rs. 52.80 crores in December 2021. ## The Radha Krishna Kumar-directed, as expected, performed significantly well in the Telugu version, grossing Rs. 44.35 crores, including Rs. 37.60 crores in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The AP/TG area-wise gross for the opening day was Rs. 25.68 crores, which is the 11th biggest of all time. It also emerged as the 3rd biggest opener in Nizam with Rs. 10.80 crores gross share.## Apart from Telugu, the second biggest market for "Radhe Shyam" was Hindi, in which it performed lower than expected. The Hindi version contributed approx. Rs. 5.50 crores gross on Friday while other versions grossed approx. 45 lakhs. On the brighter side, "Radhe Shyam", scored the 5th biggest opening day in Hindi for a South Indian movie. ## Overseas, the period romantic film spread love all over and minted approx. Rs. 15 crores on the first day, helping worldwide cume to reach a super Rs. 65.30 crores. Despite the anticipation, the movie couldn't meet expectations and opened to nearly Rs. 2.10 crores on Friday from multiplexes. By adding single screens data, it earned around 4.50 Cr Hindi net. ## On the other hand, National award-winning filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri's "The Kashmir Files" surprises at the box office. As per the early estimates, the film, based on true events, opens to Rs. 2.40 crores net from the multiplexes (including single screen, it earned around 3.30 Cr), despite the far fewer screens as compared to "Radhe Shyam". ## "The Kashmir Files", which tells the story of the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus in the early 1990s due to the Kashmir Insurgency, got a big boost towards evening and night shows from the strong word of mouth. The film has managed to touch the hearts of the audiences, and it is sure to grow further over the weekend. ## In the comparison between "Radhe Shyam" and "The Kashmir Files", the Radha Krishna Kumar-directed had 428 shows in Mumbai for the Hindi version, wherein "The Kashmir Files" had only 153 shows on the first day. There is a massive gap in the budget of two films as well. "Radhe Shyam" is made in nearly Rs. 300 crores cost while TKF cost just Rs. 20-25 crores. ## "Radhe Shyam", meanwhile, has managed to score big in the Telugu version, which can be seen as a cakewalk for Prabhas. It netted an estimated Rs. 42 crores in Telugu, which is the biggest since "Saaho" in 2019.
