Makers Respond To OTT Rumours of Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur 'Pippa'

Mumbai, March 17 - Over the last couple of days, there have been rumors that Ishaan Khatter and Mrunal Thakur's biopic war drama film Pippa would skip the conventional theatrical release to go for the direct-to-digital release. It was reported that the makers are having issues with multiplex owners over the big-screen release of the film. ## Now, the makers have issued a statement regarding the rumours and said that there is no truth in such reports. Producers Ronnie Screwvala, Siddharth Roy Kapur along with Kamal Gianchandani of PVR Inox who also represents the Multiplex Association Of India (MAI) have issued a statement. ## The statement reads, "RSVP and Roy Kapur Films have no ongoing issues with multiplex operators. Any rumors or articles suggesting otherwise are baseless and unfounded. We are all committed to working together to bring quality content to audiences in cinema across India. Ishaan Khattar and Mrunal Thakur's War Drama 'Pippa' Postponed To 2024?

Mumbai, February 27 - Back in 2020, producer Ronnie Screwvala and Siddharth Roy Kapur came together to announce the war drama movie Pippa, starring Ishaan Khattar and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. ## "Airlift" director Raja Krishna Menon helmed the movie, based on the book The Burning Chaffees by Balram Singh Mehta who fought during the Indo-Pak war in 1971. Khattar has played the role of Brigadier Balram Singh Mehta.## The movie was originally announced to release in 2021, before makers postponed it to December 2, 2022, due to the covid-19 pandemic which delayed the shoot. When it was looking on track for December 2022 release, the makers postponed it again due to an unknown reason and they are yet to lock the new release date. ## The makers are eyeing only theatrical release as the film is made for the big screen. Now, according to the latest reports, "Pippa" won't be released anytime soon, and there are chances it will only release in 2024 on the silver screen. ## According to PeepingMoon, "Pippa" has returned to the editing table as the final product failed to match the criteria required to get a go-ahead from the producers. Considering it is an 85-crore project, the makers are reworking on it to make it appealing to a wider audience. ## The film takes its title from the Russian amphibious war tank called the PT-76, popularly known as Pippa. Mumbai, July 15 - Producers Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar's Excel Entertainment has announced a new release date of the horror comedy film Phone Bhoot, starring Katrina Kaif, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Ishaan Khatter. ## The Gurmmeet Singh-directed movie, which was earlier announced for October 7, 2022, release, will now be hitting worldwide theaters on November 4 in the same year. It will be clashing with Arjun Kapoor and Tabu's Kuttey at the box office. 'Extraction' team had a special gift for Priyanshu Painyuli

Mumbai, April 28 (IANS) Actor Priyanshu Painyuli made his international debut with the Chris Hemsworth-starrer digital film "Extraction", and he says he got a special memento from the set.## He got a customized jacket that was made for his character Amir Asif, as a gift from the team. Shriya Pilgaonkar: My route unconventional compared to other celeb kids

Mumbai, April 24 (IANS) Shriya Pilgaonkar, daughter of talented actors Sachin and Supriya Pilgaonkar, feels her way of getting launched in mainstream cinema as an actress was quite different from most star kids.## "Compared to a lot of celebrity kids who have become actors, I feel the route I chose was quite unconventional in terms of the kind of work I started with. I started my journey doing a Marathi film, then I did a French film. So, for me it was not just about becoming an actor but also about honing my skills," Shriya told IANS.## Before foraying acting, Shriya worked as an assistant director on several projects.## "After graduating from college, I started learning Kathak and while I was learning Kathak, I was also working as an AD on several films and making short films. Acting happened very organically once I started doing theatre. It was not something that I had decided I would s do," she added.## Shriya made her Bollywood opposite Shah Rukh Khan in the 2016 film, "Fan". Later, she proved her mettle in the web show "Mirzapur".## Speaking of her journey so far, the young actress spoke of how her parents have always been a great source of inspiration.## "I feel blessed to be their daughter. 'Extraction' role required Priyanshu Painyuli to have a dialect coach

Mumbai, April 16 (IANS) Actor Priyanshu Painyuli plays a Bangladeshi character in the upcoming digital film "Extraction", and he says the film's director Sam Hargrave did not want to take chances with the way his character spoke on the screen. A diction coach was hired for Priyanshu so that he got his Bangladeshi dialect right.## "The director, Sam Hargrave, was very particular that I speak in the local Bangladeshi language and look like one. So, I was given a dialogue coach from Dhaka named Raffael Ahsan when the preparation was on," Priyanshu said.## "To nail the part, I used to sit with Raffael every day for a few hours over video chat and the process continued over a couple of months. Also, the practice of learning languages comes from a Bollywood musical show I had previously been a part of. It traveled around the world and was called Taj Express, where I had spoken in the native languages of different countries like China, France, Russia and so on," he added.## For "Extraction", Priyanshu watched a couple of documentaries to see "behavioral patterns and demeanor".## "The dialogue coach was with me throughout the shoot. The prep and comfort that Sam and the crew gave me the confidence to play a role like this. The actor feels nailing the look of the character is important, because the way you dress up for a particular role can make you behave in a certain way.## For "Extraction", Priyanshu has tried nailing the gangster look with chunky gold jewelry, gold neck-pieces, armlets, and bracelets. Chris Hemsworth has incredible zest to learn: 'Extraction' co-star Priyanshu Painyuli

Mumbai, April 9 (IANS) Chris Hemsworth's upcoming starrer "Extraction" has been shot largely in India and with a talented set of Indian actors in important roles. Among them is "Bhavesh Joshi Superhero" actor Priyanshu Painyuli.## Priyanshu recalls Hemsworth, globally popular for playing the superhero Thor, as someone who is a delight to be around. "When you work with someone like him, you realize the value of being grounded. He is warm and kind as a colleague. He has this incredible zest to learn more and do better, and the fact that the team made me so comfortable that I wanted to give my best," he said.## Talking of his experience of working in such a massive film, Priyanshu says his biggest takeaway from the international project was the sense of discipline about their work culture, adding that he has a "very special role, in a surprise package" in the film produced by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe, who directed the blockbusters "Avengers: Infinity War" and "Avengers: Endgame".## "My biggest takeaway from this was the discipline of it. Everyone was so well-prepared and so thorough with their scenes. The research is so well-rounded that there are zero scopes for errors when the actor is in front of the camera. Everything is already on the storyboard, discussed and vetted, before the scene. I have been able to inculcate a more methodical approach to work," he said.## The Sam Hargrave directorial is a kidnap extraction drama that has Hemsworth playing a black market mercenary hired to rescue the son of an imprisoned international crime lord. The film also features Pankaj Tripathi and Randeep Hooda, besides French-Iranian actress Golshifteh Farahani and Hollywood actor David Harbour.## About the film, Priyanshu said: It's a very interesting story. I am playing a very special role, in a surprise package. I am eagerly waiting to see myself, I haven't done anything like this before. I can't wait for people to watch this film.
