Rajasthan Royals were cruising towards the victory with Jos Buttler at the other end was in full flow before a controversial decision changed the game in Kings XI Punjab's favor.## In the 13th over of the innings, Ravichandran Ashwin was bowling with Buttler at the non-striker end. RR - 5 Players To Watch Out For In IPL 2019

A dream starts to their Indian Premier League who had unknown faces, Rajasthan Royals surprised everybody with the title triumph in the inaugural season. But the fact is it remained the only diamond to their crown. Barring a third-place finish in the 2013 season, Rajasthan Royals have never looked to stick to their winning formula that once was their surprised weapon.## Just like the Chennai Super Kings, Rajasthan Royals to have seen dark days when they were banned for two years. But once they back in 2018, a grand return was expected but unlike CSK, they flattered to deceive again. However, RR made it to the playoffs but the absence of Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes did cost them who were the main players to take RR to top four.## Will 2019 be the start of a new chapter for them? Certainly can be. They should take confidence from how they played in the latter part of the tournament in last year and the also the inclusion of Steve Smith who once was their best batsman will be enough to boost their confidence. But we understand that there are five players who will hold the key for Rajasthan Royals.## Here is the list of 5 players to watch out for in IPL 2019 (RR):## 1. Steve Smith (Batsman) - Steve Smith has seen the possibly worst days of a sportsman when he was banned for the one year by Cricket Australia from all the cricket activities after found his involvement in ball-tampering at Newlands against South Africa last year along with David Warner and Camron Bancroft. But now he has returned and will be more hungry to perform at the big stage. It is going to be important not only for RR but Smith as well who will likely be the part of Australia's world cup squad starting later this year. He is surely going to a player to watch out for this season.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 - - - - - - - Overall 69 62 1,703 101 1 5 131.71 ## 2. Rahul Tripathi (Batsman) - Rahul Tripathi was one of the best batsmen for Rising Pune Supergiant in 2017. A classy batsman who can hit the ball hard with ease, Rahul Tripathi is hopeful to play the big role for RR this season. However, barring one or two knocks, he couldn't make his mark last year but the flexibility of him playing at any position makes him a player to watch out for this year IPL.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 12 12 226 80* 0 1 135.32 Overall 26 26 617 93 0 3 142.17 ## 3. Jofra Archer (All-Rounder) - A fiery pacer who can take the bull by the horns with the bat, Jofra Archer is a typical West Indies' all-rounder. Though it is a loss for Windies that he will not represent his own country. The world saw him first in the Big Bash League playing for the Hobart Hurricanes and one is the find of BBL. He made his IPL debut last year and was impressed with the ball. Royals made a mistake by not playing him in the first few matches. But a team is as good as he learns from its mistake, Archer can be the trump card for his side.## A statical view of his IPL career (Batting)## YearMatchesInningsRunsH.S.10050S.R. 2018 10 8 15 8 0 0 71.43 ## Bowling## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 10 10 15 3/22 0 8.37 ## 4. He was ordinary but still, RR showed faith in him by picking again after releasing from the squad. In Rising Pune Supergiant's successful campaign where they lost in the final in 2017, Jaydev Unadkat was the second highest wicket taker of the tournament with 24 wickets.## A statical view of his IPL career## YearMatchesInningsWicketsBBI5-WicketsEcon 2018 15 15 11 - 0 9.65 Overall 62 61 67 5/25 2 8.4 ## Follow for more...

Our strategy wasn't wrong there - Ajinkya Rahane

Rajasthan Royals' journey in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 had been ended after they lost to Kolkata Knight Riders in an eliminator round by 25 runs at packed Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday (May 23). However, Rajasthan Royal had their chance to win this game especially after they were in the dominating position on 109 for 1 after 14 overs in reply of 170 runs.## Rajasthan Royals hadn't put their foot wrong till the 14 over of their innings. But it was a shame that they could not cross the line despite playing their one of the best games in this IPL.## "Disappointed, especially given how we started, taking 4-5 wickets early. That partnership (Karthik and Gill) and the dropped catch of Russell hurt us. When you get the start like that, you generally look to win the game. I think KKR bowled really well. They know the conditions really well. It was gettable. They were 10-12 runs short. It's important to finish the games and we didn't have partnerships towards the end" ## "When I and Sanju were batting, we were looking to play positively. I told him during the second time that I will go after the bowlers and that you bat through. But unfortunately, he got out. I think overall we played good cricket. Our bowling unit fantastic this season. Need to improve our batting and fielding," said Rahane in the presentation ceremony.## Rajasthan Royals were provided with a solid start by skipper Ajinkya Rahane and Rahul Tripathi. The Duo added 47-runs for the first wicket before Sanju Samson took charge on KKR along with Rahane. But once the second timeout had done, RR start losing their grip over the match. They lost Rahane and Samson in quick succession. With 61 runs required off 35 balls, RR needed someone to play a quick inning. Krishanppa Gowtham could have been that man who had a strike rate of 196.87 in this season. But Heinrich Klaasen walked out instead. The decision backfired RR as Klaasen could score run a ball 18.## "I think if you see, Klaasen is a really good batsman and he did really well in the last game. It is difficult when you get those runs...you try and think what if you had sent Gowtham at that number. We sent Klaasen...yes he tired his best but again KKR bowlers, especially the spinners, were really good," said Rahane in post-match conference.## "I think with our batting line-up, we wanted to go deep. When I and Sanju were batting, we wanted to go deep and if Klaasen can come when they have seven or eight overs left, I think that was a perfect opportunity for him. Unfortunately, we didn't cross the line but I don't think our strategy was wrong there. I think KG's batting position he batted well at number 6 or 7," Rahane offered.## On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders now will play against Sunrisers Hyderabad in the second qualifier on Friday, May 25 at the same venue. Both teams will fight to play against Chennai Super Kings in final on May 27 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

We need to be smarter in composing our team-Virat Kohli

Royal Challengers Bangalore became the only second team after Delhi Daredevils to be out from the IPL 2018. They lost to Rajasthan Royals in all important match by 30 runs on May 19. However, Virat Kohli, RCB skipper thinks that their middle did not show enough intent and that resulted in they failed to make it to the playoffs.## Keep in mind, Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to chase down 165 against Rajasthan Royals. Only AB de Villiers showed the required batting nous to handle the tricky conditions on view as the visitors were bowled out for 134.## "Yeah, it was a strange one. We were in a great position. 75 for 1 and the way we bundled out was not ideal. Someone like AB who can hit fours and sixes was knocking around so the others did not support him and apply themselves properly. We needed more smart decision making there. These things should be repeated by 5-6 guys in a row," said Kohli in post-match presentation.## "We wanted to strengthen the middle order which has not happened. It has not been our strength and we need to do that going into the next few seasons. We need to be smarter in composing our team. The responsibility cannot be taken up by only AB de Villiers all the time. He certainly scored runs, but others need to contribute to him and did not show enough composure," he added## However, Virat Kohli thinks that their bowlers did the pretty good job for them and will be great assets going into the next season.## "There were some new players who did well. Umesh bowled extremely well with the new ball, Chahal was great, Siraj and Moeen contributed too, so plenty of positives to take into the next season. However, after cruising at 75 for 1, it was disappointed that we could to finish it off well. I would like to wish all the other teams the best of luck for the remainder of the competition," He said.## Virat Kohli is very much right about RCB's middle order concern as the third highest run-getter is Mandeep Singh with 252 runs after their two best batsmen Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers scored 530 and 480 respectively.## On the other hand, despite climbing fourth in the points table, RR's fate would be decided based on matches played by Mumbai Indians and Kings XI Punjab on Sunday, May 20.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for the reading.

RR scripts RCB's exit with a clinical win

Royal Challengers Bangalore have been out from the race of playoffs after the disappointing show with the bat. And resulted in they lost the match by 30-runs to Rajasthan Royals at Sawai Mansingh Stadium, Jaipur on Saturday (May 19).## Rajasthan Royals after winning the toss had opted to bat first. They finished on 164 after Rahul Tripathi played a crucial inning of 80* off 58 balls. In the replay, at one stage RCB were 76 for 1 but restricted 30 runs short from the target courtesy some brilliant bowling from Shreyas Gopal.## Rahul Tripathi- Better late than never## In this match, RR was playing without their inform players Jos Buttler and Ben Stokes, who back to their national duty. So it was a big task in front of them. Rahul Tripathi who has not been in good form in this IPL came in the form at the right time. He added 99 runs with Ajinkya Rahane for the second wicket and gave RR a perfect platform of the big score. However, Umesh Yadav dismissed Rahane and Sanju Samson in back to back deliveries.## After losing Rahane and Samson, Tripathi needed a partner to play along with him. He found a right man in Heinrich Klaasen. Both put on a 48-run stand for the fourth wicket off just 34 balls. Klaasen scored 32 off 21 balls. In last over of the innings, RR collected 15 runs and finished on a good total of 164. Tripathi remained unbeaten on 80 off 58 balls including 5 fours and 3 sixes.## How good was Umesh Yadav## Umesh Yadav was the star bowler for RCB. When other bowlers were struggling he was the one who provided a breakthrough to RCB. He got his first wicket of Jofra Archer in his first over. After that when RR looking to score big he has introduced again in 13th over and dismissed Rahane and Samson on successive balls and brought back RCB into the game. He finished his spell with impressive figures of 4-1-25-3.## De Villiers, Patel came off to a flier## Chasing 165, RCB lost early wicket of skipper Virat Kohli who could score only 4 off 9 balls before Karishanppa Gowtham bowled him out. After that inform, AB de Villiers and Parthiv Patel built a partnership and added 55 off 34 balls. Patel was the aggressor in this partnership and scored quickly. He hit two sixes to Archer before he takes on Unadkat for 2 fours. While de Villiers also scored quickly. He hammered 3 fours to Archer in fourth over and followed up with 2 more to Ish Sodhi.## Gopal break RCB's hearts## When RCB was looking comfortable on 75 for 1, then Shreyas Gopal changed the game in space of 4 balls by dismissing Patel and Moeen Ali. He then dismissed Mandeep Singh in his next over and put RCB on the back foot. In this process, de Villiers reached to his 6th fifty of this season off just 31 balls but wickets were continuing falling at the other end as Ish Sodhi got dangerous Colin de Grandhomme and left RCB in awful condition. In this process, de Villiers lose his concentration and misread a googly from Gopal and got stumped out by Goswami. This wicket proved to be game-changing wicket as RCB could only manage to get 134 in 19.2 overs.## Shreyas Gopal was the pickup bowler. He finished his spell with match-winning figures of 4-0-16-4 and awarded Man Of The Match## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.

Kuldeep spun RR to gain two points for KKR

It was Jos Buttler, who again provided Rajasthan Royals a flying start but this time he couldn't repeat his heroic knock as Kuldeep Yadav's 4 for 20 helped Kolkata Knight Riders to beat Rajasthan Royals by 6-wickets at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Tuesday (May 15). With this win, KKR have strengthened their chances to qualify for the playoffs.## Buttler-Tripathi started in fifth gear## After putting to bat first, Jos Buttler and Rahul Tripathi nearly took the game away from KKR. After watchful first over of Mavi, Rahul decided to go after Prasidh Krishna in next over where he hit a six and followed up with three back to back boundaries. Tripathi collected 19 from Prasidh over before Buttler scored 28 runs from Shivam Mavi's over including 2 sixes and 4 fours. Tripathi continued this momentum with a boundary to Sunil Narine in 4th over and collects 10 from that over. The duo put on the 63-run stand before Tripathi fell in trying to play pull to Andre Russell.## Kuldeep and poor shot selection scripted famous collapse of RR## After scoring 68 for 1 in first six overs, Royals were looking all set for the big score before Kuldeep Yadav destroyed RR's batting line-up. It was also the poor shot selections hurt RR as skipper Ajinkya Rahane bowled out by Yadav in trying to play the reverse sweep. Jos Buttler, who was playing well, didn't learn from Rahane's mistake and went for the same shot but could only manage the top edge and caught out Searles at the short third man. Buttler's wicket was massive knowing Royals' middle order weren't in form.## Buttler was believed to be the sole person responsible for RR's late resurgence and what followed was proof of that as Narine and Kuldeep ran through over the out-of-form middle order with their variations. RR kept losing wickets as Sanju Samson misjudged the length of Narine, Stuart Binny failed to read a googly from Yadav's hand and Ben Stokes beat in flight as he chipped a return catch.## Reducing 107 for 7, Jaydev Unadkat swinging a few shots to give RR some shorts of target to defend with 26* off 18 balls including 3 fours and a six.## Stokes fight back but Karthik steers KKR home## Defending 142, RR started with Krishanppa Gowtham with new ball against Narine knowing that spin has been his biggest strength. Narine accepted this challenge and sent first four balls 4,6,4,6 and kick-start KKR's chase.## However, Ben Stokes pulled things back and sent Narine back to dressing room. In his very next over he got Robin Uthappa out on the short ball at the deep backward square to ignite RR hopes. But as the pitch became much easier in the second half of the innings, Dinesh Karthik 41* off 31 balls along with Chris Lynn's 45 off 42 balls comfortably guided his team through the home with two overs to spare despite Stokes' brilliant spell of 4-1-15-3.##Kuldeep Yadav awarded Man Of The Match for his match-changing spell of 4-0-20-1.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.

Unstoppable Buttler Scripts RR's Clinical Win

Rajasthan Royals stopped Mumbai Indians' three consecutive winning streak to handed them a thumping 7-wicket defeat after yet another Jos Buttler show at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai on Sunday (May 13). With this win, RR move up to fifth number in points table with 12 points in 12 matches. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians received a big blow to their playoff hopes after this defeat.## Mumbai Indians got a solid start but couldn't not capitalize this start and restricted to 168 after 20 overs. Rajasthan Royals chased down this target comfortably in the end with two overs to spare. Thanks to Jos Buttler's an unbeaten 94 off 53 balls including 9 fours and 5 sixes.## Where did MI let this match slipped from their hands## After first 10 overs. This has been the story so far. They wasted the start provided by their openers. After putting to bat first, Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis put on a 87-run stand for the first wicket before they collapsed in middle overs. losing Suryakumar Yadav after scoring 38 off 31 balls, MI lost big wicket on very next ball as Rohit Sharma gone on golden duck. Ishan Kishan, the hero of the other night couldn't contribute much in this game and manage to get only 12 off 11 balls before Ben Stokes grabbed him.## Evin Lewis, who hadn't been in good form in last few matches, found his lost touch and scored 60 off 40 balls including 4 fours and 4 sixes. However, he couldn't play throughout the MI's innings and lost his wicket on the score of 108 after 13.2 overs. Krunal Pandya also failed to score runs and made only 3 off 7 balls.## Hardik-The finisher came to rescue## When Krunal got out, MI were 131 after 17 overs. MI's condition could have been even worse if Hardik Pandya didn't play a cameo of 36 off 23 balls. He provided finishing touch to MI's innings. His 35-run partnership off 18 balls with Ben Cutting lifted MI's score to 168 after 20 overs.## Unstoppable Buttler strikes again## Defending 169, Mumbai Indians got an early wicket of D'Arcy Short in first over. Short's poor run in this IPL continued in this match as he could manage 4 off 5 balls. But it was Jos Buttler, who continued his breathtaking form and scored fifth consecutive fifty-plus score in this IPL. He equals the record of most consecutive fifties with Virendra Sehwag.## It was nothing but another classic example of his ability. First, he put on an outstanding 95-run stand with skipper Ajinkya Rahane, who scored 37 off 36 balls before Hardik grabbed him. The wicket of Rahane brings Sanju Samson at the crease and smashed quick-fire 26 off 14 balls. Both Buttler and Samson added 61 off 30 balls together and almost finished the game before Samson got out to Hardik after hitting two back to back sixes. However, Buttler finished the game with a massive six to Hardik in the same over.## Archer-The game changer## When Mumbai Indians looking to get big score then it was Jofra Archer, who changed the game and brought back Rajasthan Royals in to match. He got two back to back wickets of Suryakumar Yadav and Rohit Sharma. In his 4 overs he conceded only 16 runs. Ben Stokes was also good with ball and gave away 26 runs in 4 overs and picked Ishan Kishan and Hardik Pandya.## Jos Buttler awarded Man Of The Match for his another match-winning knock. He is also on the 5th number in highest run-getter in this IPL with 509 runs in 12 innings.## For more updates and news, stay tuned to us.## Thanks for reading.
