Hyderabad, March 1 - The energetic dance song 'Naatu Naatu' from global blockbuster "RRR" has been confirmed to be performed live on the biggest awards stage, the 2023 Oscars. ## Sung by Rahul Sipligunj & Kaala Bhairava, Naatu Naatu has been nominated for Best Original Song at the Oscars 2023. Rahul and Bhairava will be performing the song live at the 95th Oscars on Sunday, March 12th at 8e/5p. ## Composed by M.M. Keeravaani, while its lyrics are written by Chandrabose, Naatu Naatu has been ruling over audiences globally. Hyderabad, February 27 - Blockbuster director Shankar is muddling between the shoots of RC 15 and Indian 2. Telugu superstar Ram Charan's political action thriller and Kamal Haasan-fronted vigilante actioner "Indian 2" are two of the most-awaited films and director Shankar has a task in hand to deliver on both fronts.## The makers haven't locked any release date yet for both films, however, if reports are to be believed, both movies eyeing Sankranthi 2024 release in multiple languages. It is said that Ram Charan and producer Dil Raju are looking to release "RC 15" on Sankranthi at any cost as they have already faced multiple delays. ## On the other hand, "Indian 2" is produced by Lyca Productions and Red Giant Movies, and they are also aiming to release the movie during the same period to cash in on the opportunity. Since both films are being directed by Shankar, it is highly likely that the makers postponed at least one film, and it could most likely be "RC 15". ## The chances of "RC 15" not releasing on Sankranthi 2024 are high because Prabhas-fronted ambitious sci-fi actioner "Project K" with director Nag Ashwin is already placed for January 12, 2024, release. It is easily the biggest Telugu movie at the moment. Tokyo, February 19 - SS Rajamouli's epic blockbuster RRR has crossed the historic box office milestone of 1 billion Yen at the Japan box office, becoming the first-ever Indian film to achieve the feat. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, RRR has crossed the ¥‎1 billion mark on its 122nd day. The movie was released in October of last year and since then, it has continued its steady run at the box office. The movie had a big boost in collection over the last few weeks which helped it go past the box office milestone. ## Rajinikanth's Muthu is the second highest-grossing Indian film in Japan with 400 million Yen. RRR crossed Muthu's record a long time back and hasn't looked back since then. So far, the period action drama has grossed approx. 62 crores in Japan with approx. 633K admits. ## The total worldwide gross collection of RRR has now reached approx. 1170 crores. Hyderabad, February 11 - The Film Federation of India (FFI) left everyone stunned when it picked the Gujarati movie "The Chhello Show" (Last Film Show) as India's official entry for Oscars 2023, over SS Rajamouli's "RRR" which has been winning accolades internationally and getting wide recognition. ## "Last Film Show" though did receive critical acclaim but failed to score nominations in the Best International Feature Film category which further widened the criticism for FFI for not picking "RRR". Meanwhile, Ram Charan, who plays the role of Ramaraju in the film, finally reacts to the decision. ## During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ram Charan said that he was not entirely surprised by the decision but was a little disappointed that the movie was not picked.## "I really don't understand the process of selection. Prior to this, I had no knowledge of how it's done, so I don't know if I can really comment on it. Whoever did the selection, I'm sure they (FFI) have been in the process for many years, and I'm sure [Last Film Show] is a great film. I haven't gotten the chance to see it yet, but nevertheless, I hope this is a great beginning for us", the actor said. ## "We are so happy with the reception from the West, the East, and India, and all these nominations and awards are definitely great. They're feathers in our cap, and I hope we have even better things to look forward to in the future", Charan added.## "RRR", meanwhile, scored a nomination in the Best Original Song category for "Naatu Naatu" which became India's first-ever Oscars nod in the category. The movie is showing no sign of fatigue at all and is breaking records with each passing day and week. ## Starring Jr. NTR and Ram Charan, "RRR" has completed 15 weeks at the Japan box office, grossing ¥825 million or approx. 51.70 crores. It has already become the biggest Indian grosser a long time ago in Japan by crossing Rajinikanth's "Muthu" (¥400 million) and it continues to pile on the momentum. ## The blockbuster movie is now in its 15th weekend with a gross collection of approx. ¥725 million (approx. 45.50 crores) in 100 days. The last couple of weeks has been extraordinary for "RRR" in the anime country with the 14th week emerging as the biggest so far in its run over there. ## "RRR" grossed ¥120 million in its 14th week, which is ¥39 million more than the first-week collection in the country. "RRR" has been one of those rare Indian gems that have made the world dance to its tune and it has continuously been doing that month after month. ## Starring Telegu superstars Ram Charan and N.T. Rama Rao Jr. (N.T.R.) in the leading role, "RRR" has been immensely successful in the west and made Rajamouli a filmmaker to watch out for there. This unbelievable success of the movie has led to the discussion of its sequel. ## Rajamouli revealed that he initially had dropped the idea of making the RRR's sequel, but when he witnessed the massive response in the West and seriously gave thought to make "RRR". The blockbuster filmmaker recently revealed that he asked his writer-father, V. Vijayendra Prasad, to develop the story on it.## "Whenever a film succeeds, as writers, me, my father, my cousin, we sit and we discuss whether it can be taken forward. We usually have some good ideas because we're high on the success of the film. The same thing happened with RRR. There were some good ideas, but not compelling ones".## "Then, after coming to the U.S. and seeing the reaction, I was talking about my experiences to my father, and suddenly my cousin came up with an idea. I thought, "Wow, this is a great idea — this has to be developed into a script!" So, I asked my father to write a script based on that fantastic idea, and now he's in the process of developing it. Once it becomes a full script, we'll look into how to take it forward", Rajamouli told Deadline. ## Rajamouli will next be directing another Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu and for which, the shoot is expected to commence later next year.
