Hyderabad, May 29 - SS Rajamouli's RRR is making audiences despite completing 10 weeks of its release. After delivering big at the box office, the period action drama film is making waves on OTT platforms and trending the numbers in many countries. ## The western audience is simply in the awe of this cinematic brilliance as they are taking social media to share their experiences. Such a massive response for an Indian movie has not been seen in a long long time among overseas viewers. Among the big gainers on the streamer, Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi stands tall and has attracted massive viewership and remained in the top 5 most-watched non-English film for the 4th consecutive week. ## It is a rare feat for a movie to find its place in the top 5 for such a long time, especially when a film completed 8 weeks in theaters with excellent numbers. But Sanjay Leela Bhansali-directed is doing this with ease and is the most-watched non-direct OTT Indian movie on Netflix. ## During its 4th week (May 16 - May 22) on the streamer, Gangubai Kathiawadi scored 8.8 million viewing hours, which is higher than the second week (8.3 million). The cumulative viewing hours number of GB has now reached 43.2 million in 27 days. It is trending in the top 10 films in 34 countries. It was trending in 23 countries in the 3rd week. ## SS Rajamouli's global box office blockbuster, RRR Hindi version has made a big debut on Netflix. Launched on May 20 after completing 8 weeks in theaters with approx. 1120 crores worldwide gross, the period action drama film scored 7.18 million viewing hours in the first 3 days.## RRR, starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn along with Olivia Morris among others, is trending in the top 10 non-English films in 14 countries on Netflix. It is currently the number one movie in India, Mauritius, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and the Maldives. Considering the fact that RRR is still making money at the box office, the viewership numbers of it are very good. ## Meanwhile, Shahid Kapoor's Hindi remake of Telugu sports drama film Jersey scored 4.47 million viewing hours in its opening weekend and was the 7th most-watched non-English film last week. It was launched on Netflix on May 20, after completing its theatrical run where it didn't perform well. Mumbai, May 19 - SS Rajamouli's global blockbuster "RRR" is all set for its digital premiere on ZEE5 and Netflix. While ZEE5 will stream South Indian versions, Netflix bought the Hindi streaming rights, and all the versions will be streaming on May 20. ## Earlier, Netflix had announced the "RRR" Hindi digital release on June 2, which has now been preponed to May 20th, coinciding with Jr. NTR's birthday. The period action drama starring Jr. NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt, and Ajay Devgn, in playing in theaters since March 25th and has had a glorious run at the box office so far. ## Netflix had already acquired the global streaming rights for the Hindi version of the film a long time ago. The period action drama, starring Jr. NTR, and Ram Charan, has already grossed over $14 million in its initial run at the USA box office. ## Presented by Variance Films and Potentate Films with Sarigama Cinemas, "RRR" will be re-released in 100+ theaters in the USA on June 1. Bengaluru, May 7 - Superstar Yash-fronted "KGF Chapter 2" is winning the race to become the highest-grossing Indian movie of the year. For the Indian HGOTY title, there was a clear battle between "KGF 2" and SS Rajamouli's "RRR", and it is the former that is taking the honour, though a lot to happen with blockbuster titles releasing throughout the year. ## Directed by Prashanth Neel, "KGF Chapter 2" has stormed past 1100 crores worldwide through 4th Friday. It will most likely outdo "RRR" with today's (4th Saturday) collection. "RRR", starring Jr. NTR/Ram Charan is nearing its end and has grossed 1112 crores through 6 weeks. The collection of "RRR" includes 904 crores domestically and 208 crores from overseas. ## While there won't be much difference between the two movies as far as the lifetime box office collections are concerned, "KGF Chapter 2's" overall total got a huge boost from the Hindi version with 400 crores net mark as compared to 265 crores of "RRR". Overall, "KGF 2" has so far scored 1101.2 crores, including 916 crores domestically and 185 crores overseas. ## Among the all-time highest-grossing Indian movies at the worldwide box office, "KGF 2" will finish at number 3 in the list with "RRR" to follow at number 4. The movie, starring Jr. NTR/Ram Charan in the lead, was promised to bring back the glory of Indian cinema and it has fulfilled that by becoming a rage among the domestic as well as overseas audiences. ## Produced by DVV Entertainment, "RRR" has completed six weeks in theaters as its run is coming to an end. It will be available on OTT platforms after 10 weeks of its theatrical release. Bengaluru, May 6 - Yash-starrer "KGF Chapter 2" has been on a record-breaking box office run since its launch on April 14 and has set new standards for the upcoming movies. On top of that, the Prashanth Neel-directed movie has now become the second highest-grossing movie of all time at the domestic box office, beating SS Rajamouli's "RRR". ## "KGF Chapter 2" has grossed over 910 crores at the Indian box office for all languages through the third Thursday. It is only the second film after "Baahubali 2 The Conclusion" to have crossed the 900 crores mark in India. Rajamouli's recently released "RRR" has so far grossed 898+ crores and still running in select theaters. It will end its run crossing the 900 crores mark in coming days. ## Talking about the Yash-fronted, it has become an all-time blockbuster in the dubbed Hindi version with a net collection nearing the 400 crores mark. Through third Thursday (May 5), the movie has scored approx. 398 crores or 470 crores gross, which is the second highest-ever in Hindi after "Baahubali 2" (510.99 cr). It is eying its Hindi run to finish over 420 crores. ## The other versions of the movie have minted approx. 440 crores gross so far with the original Kannada version leading 155 crores gross. As reported earlier, "KGF 2" is the only film to have reached 100 crores gross in four Indian languages. Hyderabad, May 2 - Megastar Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan's action drama film "Acharya" was released amid much curiosity among the fans. The movie did take a huge opening of 51 crores worldwide gross, however, the box office result after the first day turned out to be shockingly disastrous. ## Directed by Koratala Siva, the movie got bad reviews and it is termed the weakest film in director Siva's filmography. As a result of the bad reviews and negative word of mouth, the movie plumbed massively on the second day and grossed just 10 crores with a huge drop of 76%.## There was no respite for the film on Sunday as well as it further dropped to 7.70 crores gross and registered a disappointing opening weekend with 61.10 crores gross at the domestic box office. Overseas, it scored approx. 11 crores gross, pushing worldwide cume to 72 crores. With a look at it, 72 crores worldwide gross in just 3 days sounds big numbers, but the huge drop on the second day itself and with no way going forward, is going to cause major losses to the distributors. ## The movie was valued at approx. 140 crores gross in Telugu states (Andhra Pradesh & Telangana), but it seems it will be difficult for the movie to score even 50 crores AP/TG share in its lifetime run. As of now, for the first three days, the AP/TG share of "Acharya" is 38.77 crores, and as per industry insiders, the exhibitors are expected to lose approx. 80 crores. It is heading toward one of the biggest disasters in the Telugu film industry. ## "Acharya" is produced by Konidela Production Company and Matinee Entertainment. In the movie, Chiranjeevi played the title role while Ram Charan, who is fresh from his biggest blockbuster "RRR", played the second lead as Siddha. Hyderabad, April 25 - Telugu movie, Acharya is all set to hit screens on April 28. The movie stars megastar Chiranjeevi in the title role along with Ram Charan, Pooja Hegde, and Sonu Sood in key roles. Directed by Koratala Siva, the action drama movie was also supposed to feature actress Kajal Aggarwal in a key role, but her role has now been chopped off. ## Earlier, there were reports that Kajal's role was chopped off because she opted out of the movie due to her pregnancy. Director Korala Siva, however, has now revealed that Kajal's role was trimmed because it was not fitting with the premise of the movie because it was not concluded well. ## "Initially, I designed a very funny character for Kajal Aggarwal in Acharya and we also shot her portions for 3-4 days. But when I watched the rushes, her role was not really fitting with the flow of the movie, and also I was unable to conclude her role properly in the story, so I decided to trim her character and informed the same to her", the director said during a media interaction for Acharya promotions. ## Koratala Siva further said that the actress understood her concern and took the decision in a positive way. He also said that Kajal will be seen in the Lahe Lahe song with megastar Chiranjeevi. "Watch the film to see how we fit her in to the song", he added.## Kajal Aggarwala, meanwhile, is enjoying her motherhood after she recently gave birth to her first child, named Neil. Hyderabad, April 24 - Telugu superstars Chiranjeevi and Ram Charan will be headlining the upcoming Telugu action drama film, "Acharya", which is scheduled to release on 28 April. Directed by Koratal Siva, the pre-release event of the film was held in Hyderabad on April 23. ## "Acharya" was also supposed to release in the dubbed Hindi version simultaneously with Telugu, however, the Hindi version will now be released at a later stage. During the press meet for the "Acharya" promotion, Ram Charan provided an update about the Hindi release. ## Ram Charan said that they originally planned "Acharya" to release only in Telugu due to its subject. However, considering the fact that some of the Telugu movies have done wonders in Hindi belts, Charan said they will also release the Hindi version also nearly after 1 month.
